Wendy's had been the go to place for my family for years. When relatives would come from out of town, they always wanted food from here! I'm sad to say that over the past few years, this place is disappointing. We no longer order Gen Tsao chicken or Orange beef because all it is is mushy batter balls in sauce. We moved on to dishes that aren't coated in batter. I just ordered Shrimp with black bean sauce and Hot and Shredded Beef. We have gotten these dishes before. The problem is, on any given day, the dishes taste totally different. I had to check my order to make sure, I ordered the right dish. Today was bland, no heat, no taste. The shrimp were coated in a slurry which wasn't all the way blended. The hot and shredded beef had very little beef with all onions. As for the taste, there was none. We don't mind paying extra for good food, but with the increased prices, lack of consistency and zero taste... it seemed Wendy is lacking effort. The ambiance is typical Chinese food takeout with a few tables with a kitchen in full view. Service is usually great. This is our regular delivery place. They always tell us it will take 45 minutes, then they at our door in 10 minutes. We've tried many local Chinese delivery places, but this is our favorite. We ordered House Special Lo Mein, egg rolls, Prawns on the Green which is 6 gigantic breaded shrimp over broccoli in a light brown sauce. My special order is Chow Fun noodles with nothing on them with a side of brown Egg Foo Young gravy. It's my wonderful childhood memory of going to the Chinese food place after elementary school to get gravy over rice. I'm so happy to be close to Happy Group. read more

Happy Group been closed down since late-March due to COVID-19, and we had tried another Chinese restaurant in the meantime to try and scratch our itch for Chinese food...big mistake. We should've waited for Wendy. Wendy re-opened Happy Group earlier in the week but we decided to wait till the weekend to order food, mainly because we knew it was going to be a big order and we wanted plenty of time to eat and digest. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. We went full monty and ordered the General Tso's chicken (we ask for extra, extra, EXTRA crispy), orange beef, beef lo mein, beef chow fun (no veggies), pork pan fried dumplings, boneless bbq spare ribs, pork egg foo yung, and the steamed brown rice (with a side of garlic sauce)...and everything was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I had/have been going to Happy Group for over a decade at least. The food was always the best I'd ever had. Good portions, price was okay. This place has had a few bad things happen to them first a water main break or something and then covid. It seems after these events they started going downhill. Wendy was always nice when I used to go in, she would says, "Okay, sweetie your order is ready." She has had a couple of knucklehead workers in there who I don't see around any more. One day some fool was splashing bleach water around cleaning the floor, I had on $400 furry black boots and and I slipped coming in. I told him I slipped he says, "Be careful." I'm like how about you don't mop the damn floor during business hours? Once, I wanted to pay with cash and a gift card, she ran my card first for the larger amount and I was going to pay the rest in cash, when the card didn't pay it all she yells out at me, "You don't have no money!" in front of two other customers. She pressed a few more buttons on the register and said "Oh $2.00" so I gave her the $2.00 in cash. I was so pissed off. I'm not sure if I'll go back, their prices were already higher than anyone else but, now it seems like they go up every week. She's gotten very rude over the years which she probably always was, but not to her customers. I think I will be looking elsewhere for my Chinese food. read more

called approximately 5:20-5:30 ordered 2 items for delivery told me about 45 minutes. I called 6:20 told me was out for delivery, called 6:50 same, food arrived after 7pm when delivery man showed up he basically said they lied he was trying to explain, didn't care have him tip anyways. I told him I want a credit for this order he said you have to call so I did- can you imagine after having me on hold again for a manager for over 10 mins she came back with a 1.90 refund. can you imagine this is how they do business ? I have ordered chicken with broccoli and shrimp with mixed vegetables from Happy Group Chinese food today. Unfortunately, I have received a bunch of broccoli and mixed vegetables with very few chicken pieces and couple of shrimp. This is the second time it is happening. They should do better with food. In a word-Horrible! Avoid. You can smell the rancid oil from a few blocks away when the wind is right.Swore up and down I would never go back to this place after the last few times I got burned but foolishly let my guard down and headed over for more abuse. What can I say, I'm an optimist OK? Boneless ribs were bright red and rubbery just the way you don't like them. Mu Shu pork was soggy and tasteless but yet somehow burnt through and through-amazing! Mu Shu pancakes were dried out, cracked and unusable. The thoughtfully included half teaspoon of hoisin sauce was a nice touch though! On a positive note, the house special soup and egg foo young were edible but unfortunately the rest of this mess wound up right in the garbage where it belonged. I went their on 08/27/2016, Saturday with my wife. I ordered the combination meal number 8,, which ways the boneless spare ribs with the fried rice and my wife ordered a number 3 combination meal which was the garlic beef with fried rice. Both of our fried rices were tasteless and my ribs were burnt and my wife garlic beef was mostly vegetables, to find a piece of beef it was like playing where is Waldo? I left this place alone for years due to the low quality of food. but one evening, against my own good judgment, I decided to give them one more try... I order the simplest dish of chicken wings and shrimp fried rice. To keep this review short I will just tell you that I spent $8 dollars and change for four wings, very brown overly stir fried rice with copious amounts of soy sauce and containing six baby shrimps init (I counted them). I ate the wings but couldn't eat the rest of the meal so the kitchen garbage had my dinner... I am really steering away from this place and all Chinese take-out... NEVER AGAIN! read more
