The service is horrible, an understatement - I had to ask them to take my drink and food order while there were only 2 other tables. After reading about the Yellow Curry in a recent review, I ordered that with my default protein, chicken. Because I was not given a ladle, I used the provided tablespoon to scoop the rice into the bowl. I do not recall ever requiring a knife for Thai food. Unfortunately, I needed one but it was not provided. Other than the peanuts, nothing was bite-sized especially the large chunks of potatoes and carrots. The chicken was not properly cut, either the chunks were large or pieces were still connected together. I had to use the fork to separate these pieces. Once it got tedious eating the potatoes and carrots, I stuck to eating the rice and curry. read more

The Ingredients and tastes are very close to what you would have in Thailand The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is they are missing some of the staple dishes of Thailand. We ordered a lunch of chicken pad Thai BUT it was quite bland. No real flavor to it unfortunately. Also, they are very under staffed. We sat for 15 minutes as the two servers thought each other was responsible for our table. Our waters ran dry and our check took a while to when we got a server, he was nice, but over taxed. We got: Crab Rangoon (highly recommend, it was delicious, but you get about 6 pieces for $8 which I thought was a little pricy, but it was delicious, would get it again!) Red Curry: Good amount of spice, got medium and that's probably all I could've handled but it was YUMMY. It's just okay. They don't ask spice level for the dishes and the come out with zero spice. I got the pad Thai and my friend got yellow curry. She is vegan so she asked for extra potatoes instead of meat and they up charge $2. There weren't even a lot of potatoes. It was less than half a potato worth of chopped potato. The curry was served on a plate and there wasn't much actual curry. It was also very thin curry and apparently they're pre-made. I know this because when my friend asked for coconut milk in her Thai tea they said they don't have it, yet coconut milk is an ingredient listed in all their curries. We inquired and asked if the curry must be pre made and the server said yes. Most Thai restaurants are pretty vegan friendly but this one offers no non-dairy milks for their Thai tea which I've never seen before! Also the crab rangoons were very strange. The filling inside was yellow? It looks and tasted similar to the egg yolk part of a deviled egg and seemed to have very little actual crab in it. Usually they're white inside. They did have a good crispness too them though. But overall very underwhelming food and definitely not very authentic. Was a bit of a disappointment. read more

Best Thai food in DFW and, in my humble opinion, better that Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas which is supposedly the best on the country. It's hard to believe we have this authentic gem in the suburbs of Flower Mound. Try the chicken satay -- moist and tender. Tom yum soup is flavorful with lemongrass and not overly salty. This is my first time here and I ordered Panang Curry at lunchtime. The plate presentation was excellent. I ordered it thai standard and it didn't need any spice added. After reading several great reviews, I decided to make a trip to Thai Ruby. I wasn't pleased with the food items that others recommended even though many people frequented the restaurant, but the service was pretty good since the servers were very nice. Tom Yum Soup tasted more sweet than sour and a bunch of julienned onions sat at the bottom of the bowl. The Lad Na noodles were overcooked and there was not enough gravy to drench the noodles in. read more

I never write Yelp reviews, but after noticing Thai Ruby only had 3 1/2 stars and I HAD to give some stars. This is my family's absolute favorite restaurant in FloMo. I always get the Pad Thai with extra tofu and it's the best I've ever had (and I've tried all flo mo's and my college towns pad Thais). Their tofu is large and cooked with the perfect crispy outside! My little sister loves the kids chicken satay with fried rice. The kids fried rice I swear is so addicting I don't know what they cook it in but it's awesome. Overall 10/10 inside aesthetic and 10/10 service & you'll always have your water glass full. Try the appetizer sampler ( wonton crisps are my favorite) and amazing peanut entree! read more
