Just moved in down the road - thought we'd try this place. Definitely glad we did! Service was wonderful. We placed a to go order. Inside was clean, several people enjoying their meals. Family feel. The veggies were freshly cooked and spice was on point. I got a three spice level and it was great. My non heat lovers found two to be flavorful and enough "heat" for them. The only disappointment was how small the Thai Tea was! Haha. It was hoping for 32oz, but to go looks more like maybe 16oz-20oz?? Obviously, a healthier size. Lol. Siam I've been a loyal customer of Siam for 10 years. Siam serves some of the most popular Thai dishes. The service and cleanliness is ok the restaurant is small so you have more attention from staff. They have a wide variety of Curries and dishes that you can adjust your spice level from 1-5. All their curries are not light in flavor but all are robust with strong flavors. Pinang curry is my favorite because of its rich robust flavor. The only thing I don't like about this place is that the spice levels are inaccurate some of the lower level dishes were the same or spicier then the higher levels. I ordered the basil fried rice added chicken, drunken noodles add shrimp, and green curry no meat/tofu added. Also tried variations of the spice level. This place did not disappoint. I had been also craving basil fried rice after going to a place in Florida. Anyway, back to the food. Everything was amazing as heck!!!! Cooked to perfection. Although it's like 15 minutes away, it's worth the drive for sure. The veggies in all dishes were cooked so well, still had a nice little crunch to them, not soggy at all. I loved that all dishes had their own uniquely yummy taste and not all the same (if that makes sense). I'll definitely be ordering here again probably more than I should! Totally worth it! This is a small family owned restaurant & they were so sweet, the service was very good. The people complaining about food taking too long well it's all made to order so I will gladly wait for fresh hot food! Not to mention the lady at the front desk was constantly taking phone orders so just because the place looks empty I guarantee that they are still busy cooking a million orders in the back so just be patient and kind. Now onto the food, I got the chicken pad Thai, & calamari. The spice level 3 was perfect, it's definitely spicy but not uncomfortable. But the service was very good and the entrees were delicious! I recommend it if you're going for good Thai food but not necessarily the atmosphere. My boyfriend used to work nearby this place and had a phase where he would order take out almost every day! I didn't give them 5 stars because for me my favorite place is somewhere else, however, I do agree this place is very good. Their Pad Thai is not too sweet and not too sticky. I would definitely recommend Pad Thair or Drunken Noodle for this place. Garlic Fish is also a really delicious dish I would recommend if you are not feeling noodles. But I love being able to drive by and pick up my order so I can catch up on my favorite tv shows while eating my favorite foods. White fish is fried then stir fry in a garlic sauce along with mushrooms and carrots on a bed of lettuce. You can choose brown or white rice with it. This place is as good as it gets when it comes to Thai food in Texas. The workers there are incredibly nice and accommodating. They even showed me my dish to make sure I was content before they sold it to me. Who even does that? I rarely find the kind of customer service I received at Siam from anywhere else these days. This is a restaurant that you want to succeed. As a picky eater I am sometimes intimidated to try new places, but Siam simply knocked it out of the park. The only downside is my wallet is going to take a huge beating because I can assume I'll be here once a week. I had chicken fried rice with medium spice, baby corns, egg, and rice only (I know I'm weird, but that's how I hang), the fried springs rolls, and the drunken noodle. Have you ever really liked a place, but can never remember the actual name? (Refer to: Hidden Door) I discovered this place because my boss took a few of us for lunch, and I remember how to get here because it's right next to Tom Thumb - so since I've never had to look it up, never researched it, the name just never stuck. THAT is why, after a friend dubbed it "Cheap Thai Hooker", it will ever remain so to me. Meant with all the love & respect in the world! I have a smokin' hot occasional-Thursday lunch date, and after I mentioned it this week she *of course* had to investigate what Cheap Thai Hooker was all about. I mean, duh - who wouldn't, right?! So, yay! It's on! And then I get all nervous. What if it sucks? I haven't been in a while. Aw jeez - if it's not good, this could get awkward... Most of the lunch menu falls under the "lunch special" category, which is priced according to the meat you add to the dish, and includes a cup of soup of the day and a small fried spring roll. Our soup yesterday was coconut chicken; creamy but not too rich, slightly spicy, with thin slices of chicken, little cartoon-level-cute half-mushrooms, slivers of onion and the occasional bit of lemongrass (ptoooey!). I was busy blabbing about something-or-other when my date took a spoonful and then got a look of pure joy. Whew! CTH is still rockin' the foreplay! Fried springrolls are always good - the sweet, spicy, light dipping sauce is delicious. So yeah, om nom nom and those are gone. We'd also gotten all fancy and ordered Bag of Gold appetizers... holy moly! Cute as pie (makes it even tastier!) and so delicious. Ground pork, a couple of veggies and very finely diced potato, plus a little hint of flavoring - curry, we think. The little crispy tops above the juicy soft meatball inside were great contrast to each other. The sauce was similar to the springroll goodness: a little spicy, sweet, thick & a great complement to the flavors in the bags. Heh. Then our main dishes. She: Yellow Curry. She likey. She also will review, so I'll let her describe it in detail. I enjoyed my forkful VERY much! Mine. I always always ALWAYS go Drunken Noodle here. Today was beef, #3 spicy. Brave, for me! And exactly right: tingly on the lips, but all the flavors still shine through. Broccoli was still very crisp, beef was delicious, but my favorite is those darn noodles. They are magically filled with flavor and really springy - they fight back a bit before they give in. Awesome. And filling! The last few bites always kick my ass, and I can EAT. Refer to: my butt. Service is attentive and friendly, my tea was replenished often, and business is brisk; almost completely full, but no waiting. This is a little place, nothing fancy but nicely decorated: bamboo-green paint, dark carved wood (can I assume Thai?) art pieces on the walls, lots of live plants. Oh, and extremely inexpensive. Two entrees plus the soup and springrolls that come with, my tea, our Bags of Gold: $22. I got her lunch too, since it's almost her birthday... but yeah, I totally made out like a bandit on that one. This is one of the best Thai places I've tried in this area. It's not nearly as overpriced as the other Thai places in the neighborhood, and the food aesthetics and flavors are ON POINT. We had fast and great service, courtesy of the owner and the waiter, with generous portions in each meal. The Thai appetizer sampler is very neat and varied and tasty. The basil duck has amazing texture (crispy) and taste (yum!), but we only had four chunks in the dish, which was a little frugal for $15.95... I was very satisfied with the crab fried rice. This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant serves a variety of dishes for an authentic Thai cuisine. I have always visited here when I was younger, and really loved their Basil Catfish, which my whole family enjoyed. But nowadays, I don't really consume catfish anymore, and prefer tilapia or salmon. So I took a chance and got the Panang Salmon Avocado dish, which was a hearty curry (medium level spiciness) and sauteed salmon. It was delicious. I can't wait to try more of their dishes! Wish the prices were a little cheaper, though, but still good value for the amount of salmon provided. I've got to try their lunch menu, too. That Honey Chicken rice dish sounds divine... (That's my stomach talking, my bad) Their Thai Tea was not that great, because I am not accustomed to super sugary, condensed milk in teas anymore. I just know that every sip of that concoction is just terrible for my body, and it was just not a good experience for me compared to a Thai shop in Arlington. Sweet and Sour sauce for dipping. For the entree, I decide to try something new and ordered the Sukiyaki noodles with chicken. Thin, clear glass noodles, veggies, chicken, and sauce as spicy as I wanted it. I'm telling you--everything I had was delicious. If you want to stick to something more familiar, like fried rice, you'll love the variety of choices they offer. My two friends ordered the Thai fried rice and Spicy Basil Fried rice. I sincerely thought the fried rice was going to be basic--anyone can cook fried rice. Then I tasted the spicy basil. ..... How can fried rice taste so amazing?! Tasty and flavorful and juicy.
