Being from LA, we are use to so accessing any kind of food within a city block. We miss our Thai Food restaurant and decided to try Maha. I did not see reviews until this posting. The food is amazing. We had Drunken Noodles with Shrimp and Seafood Pad Thai. (Keep forgetting we aren't right by ocean) Since it was 100 and hell outside we both ordered slushies: Passionfruit and Pina Colada. They were awesome. The food is fresh and spicy was outta sight! Both of us agreed it was LA worthy and will be back. Interestingly, the menu has more than Thai food, it includes Chinese dishes as well as Vietnamese. Totally recommend, Bruh. read more

It's "Yummy" Thai, just perhaps different owners and chef - however, the food is the same quality. The Tom Kha Gai had a very unusual smokey flavoring, really odd - it was edible but, not a fan. The waiter forgot our order of fried rice, even saw him repeat it back to us and wrote it down. The fried tofu, shrimp spring rolls, and Thai tea were good. The service was attentive, and polite. The roof leaks, they have had to clear out several tables in the middle of the restaurant to address the leaks into buckets. Although I asked for medium spice, all of the food was mild. The red chicken curry was ok, but reminded me of Indian dishes more than Thai. The decorum of the place was run down a bit, appears there was little renovation from when they were "Yummy" Thai. However, I am pleased they changed the name because it was far from yummy. People in Flower Mound have a very warped sense of what excellent Thai food actually tastes like, and Yummy Thai was not it, sadly Maha Thai isn't either. This location has the exact same problem that Chillicious Thai has in Flower Mound. Once owners changed, chefs changed, and everything now has an Indian (from India) flavoring to nearly every dish, it stopped being Thai. If you've had Indian food and Thai food, you'd know the difference. Just because you're from India and you believe you "know" curry - which you likely do, does not mean you're ready to then cook Thai food. The menu looked nice, but the food did not appear as advertised, especially the Khao Man Gai, aka hainanese chicken. It is very unlikely we will be back. read more

Everything was just okay. The pad Thai didn't have a ton of flavor. I ordered a hot matcha latte and got am iced matcha latte. It was fine, mostly just sweet. The chicken pot stickers were fine. They may have been previously frozen. The fresh rolls were fine. The peanut sauce was too thick. The only thing that was bad was the mango sticky rice. The mango was not ripe. This place is more like a 3.5 out of five stars. i ordered to go via doordash, so i can't really comment on the service or too much on the interior. but i will have to say that when i went to pick up my food, it was fairly empty inside. As for the food, we ended up getting two entrees: Pad thai and pineapple fried rice. Both items were delicious and out of the two, i enjoyed the pineapple fried rice more. I ordered the rice with mild spice and pad thai with no spice. Both dishes i ended up getting chicken. One thing that's nice with the take away, was that they package the peanuts separately on the pad thai dish. The food portion was fairly large for what we paid, and it definitely will fill up one person. This used to be our go-to spot for Thai food in FM--we were coming here almost once a week at one point. Unfortunately, over the past year or so, the food quality hasn't been the same. After reading other reviews, it seems like it may be under new ownership, which could explain the change. I decided to give it another try after a few months since my last visit wasn't great, but this experience confirmed why I stopped ordering from here. I ordered drunken noodles, vegetable stir-fry, yummy egg rolls, and Vietnamese spring rolls. The drunken noodles and vegetable stir-fry had little to no flavor, although the spice level in the noodles was definitely there. The egg rolls were good, but the sweet-and-sour sauce that came with them smelled strongly like vinegar. I'm glad I checked before tasting it because the look and consistency seemed off as well. I also tried the chili oil, but it was very watery and had no smell, it honestly didn't seem right. It's disappointing because this used to be a favorite of mine, but after giving it another chance, I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

First there was one server that was slow as a slug. Next we were given barely warm water with onions in it first. Horrible stuff. We had to ask for napkins, food came and we had to ask for flatware. It was so rediculous! The people we were with go there often for a particular soup. I tried it and it was tasteless and awful. I ordered pineapple fried rice without the egg in it. They put egg in almost energ dish.I was presented with the plate of rice dish that had three pieces of canned pineapple in it and some bland chicken. There was no pineapple taste. I asked for some sweet dipping sauce to use for flavor. Really terrible! There had to be a good Thai place somewhere. This is not it. We were there about 3:30 and there was only 1 other customer. This place used to be a gem-proper, authentic Thai flavors that actually tasted like someone in the kitchen knew what they were doing. Now? It's changed ownership, and it shows. Big time. The nam tok came with rice that was basically raw. Not "lightly toasted," not "crunchy." Raw. Like someone forgot the pan was even on. And the beef? Completely the wrong texture-as if it walked to the table on its own. The kapi rice had zero shrimp paste flavor. None. You have to actively try to mess that up. That's the culinary equivalent of forgetting the eggs in an omelet. Even the curry, which should be impossible to screw up, was bland, watery, and just sad. Honestly, if I wanted curry flavored like dishwater, I'd... never mind, I wouldn't. And the pad Thai? No wok hei. No depth. No soul. I could make a better version half-asleep at home with one hand tied behind my back. Let's be real: they should take "authentic" out of their name immediately. Upon seeing a Buddha and Thai written on the entrance, I can tell there's gotta be something authentic about Yummy Thai. I was please to see some traditional Thai dishes in addition to your Americanized pad Thai, cashew chicken etc. I was drawn in by the Gai Yang and grilled pork shoulder. The kind waitress informed me that the chicken would take about 25 mins to cook and may be a little dry because of the grilling. I said I was ok with the wait and wanted to try a whole grilled chicken. The pork shoulder came first in a hefty portion with a savory and spicy sauce. Pairing it with a fresh tomato was a perfect balance of flavor. The grilled chicken was lightly seasoned and spiced with tangy and sweet sauce served on the side. The chicken was actually just drier on the breast portions but pretty juicy around the thigh. I would order both again. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and quiet for a peaceful dinner. However I can say it's not the most organized as you see some parts of the restaurant looking like unfinished construction, my guess is that it use to be some sort of Chinese buffet previously. While our server was pleasant and kind, the cashier was pretty emotionless and indifferent to us while I was paying. It didn't really matter too much but a consistent attitude across the whole restaurant would be nice. read more

My wife & I tried it for the first time 12/26 for a dinner date. The dishes were ok, but we disappointed bc the Pad Thai was soupy w/overcooked shrimp & no eggs. Overkill on green onions, The Yummy house egg rolls were 2 regular size cut into 3 each; & Pho Beef steak soup we just got to go bc we list our appetite... our waitress kept repeating everything twice to five times. The napkins & silverware we had to ask for. However black Thai ice coffee & Sweet ice tea was on point. Our server could've been less rushing us to pay our tab & leave. There was a party in the rear section that had people that basically laughed & yelled at each other. I came in for rice soup March 4th I work by this location so I thought why not grab some soup ! The first time I came the soup was amazing and something I was looking for because my favorite restaurant that served rice soup, in Irving had closed down! I told them no meat in my soup which they do chicken broth this time they did a pork broth which was weird ! It was darker and tasted sweet like cinnamon was in it or was used for pho . I didn't check until I got to work of course they were closed when I got off so March 5th I returned the soup because it wasn't what I ordered . When they offered to remake it I said okay because it's what I really wanted ! I got there at 2:30 I left at 2:52 i called how much longer and he said ma'am I just checked another 5 mins so I asked for a refund because I nanny and I had to go 10 mins to get my kids ! After arguing with them and not getting my refund I left with my recipet and told them I will be leaving a review! So I left with no refund when I left with the new soup it was still incorrect they put chicken chunks / meat in the soup ! I have not eaten at Yummy Thai since the pandemic. During the initial months, I had gotten takeout very frequently. Today, I decided to dine in. Fortunately, there was no wait to be seated nor have my order taken. I got the Red Curry with chicken at medium (Spicy level #2). Because I was given a ladle, I decided to scoop the red curry onto the plate. Unfortunately, there was insufficient amount of rice to absorb all the sauce. There's nothing authentic as far Thai/Vietnamese/Pho cuisine about this place. I ordered to go #54 Tom Kha soup, #17 chicken wings, #B03 bun thit nuong with egg roll. Chicken wings - nothing special (6 for $10) just breaded chicken wings with no spice. The Tom Kha Soup is thick like it's been sitting for a couple of days. The Bun Thit Nuong (meaning GRILLED pork with noodles) is far from grilled. It literally tasted like sliced FATTY pork in fish sauce thrown in a pot, and I mean lots of fat. And the egg roll... I might as well order from Panda. I'm not sure if the management has changed because it's been so long but I didn't see any Thai, Vietnamese americans, only Indian Americans in the restaurant which I'm assuming that's why the food isn't authentic as it should be... Really nothing to rave about here - the restaurant feels pretty run down and the service isn't the most attentive. It would have been ok if the food was above average but unfortunately it wasn't the best when it comes to Thai food. It desperately needs a renovation. Restrooms were gross and tables felt sticky. When I looked at the menu and saw items that I hadn't seen since my Thai loving days in SoCal, I knew this place was legit. And the food was as delicious as expected. Here's what we got: -Pork shoulder salad -Papaya salad -Chicken satay -Tom kha gai -Pad kee mao with pork -Pad thai with tofu -Pad ped catfish (SO GOOD, I can't wait to try more of their specialty fish dishes) Be forewarned: the spicy is SPICY. I love it, but just be sure of which level you pick because these guys actually mean it. Delivery was fast and the food was piping hot. All good. Overall 4.5 stars. The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 is how heavy greasy the drunken noodles were. That's a big thing for me. My wife and I met some friends at Yummy Thai last night for dinner. While the food was tasty, the service was aweful and made it a miserable experience. Our friends ordered sprimg rolls and the waitress kept coming over interrupting us asking us to place our dinner order. We did order, Pad Thai for me and Pang Curry for my wife and friends. My dinner came out first. Thirty minutes later, the 3 curries arrived. The fortune cookies were old and stale. This used to be our favorite Thai restaurant in Flower Mound, but not any more. My wife read on a google review that it was under new ownership and you can tell. If they don't improve the service, it won't ber there much longer. We ordered 2 dishes from this small strip center restaurant and I have to say, we did not really expect it to be so great. The portions were huge and my photos are after 2 of us had eaten dinner. The pad Thai was flavorful and one of the best I have had. Peanuts are served on the cup in the corner. We also ordered the curry fried rice. It was great! Just the right amount of curry and vegetables. The rice was crisp like I like it and the chicken was cut to small pieces not the usual gigantic pieces that are cumbersome. They have so many delicious options, I usually go for the pho and the vegetable egg rolls because I crave them all the time. Their long life noodles are a close second. I ordered food to go so this is based solely on the food. Chinese broccoli with crispy pork, Tom Ka soup and chicken satay. Absolutely delicious. The flavors in the soup are robust and really enticing. Chicken satay was alright but the peanut sauce and cucumber side is what makes the chicken so much better. The garlic sauce for the Chinese broccoli and crispy pork is perfect. Not overpowering and cooked to perfection. I would recommend it was definitely yummy. read more

In the wake of the closure of my favorite Thai food restaurant in Flower Mound I had yet to find a satisfactory replacement. Unfortunately, after Thai Ruby didn't quite measure up for me, I got discouraged. Then I tried Yummy Thai. For my first meal here I wasn't overly adventurous, getting the Pad Thai, and Panang Curry with only medium spiciness along with an order of egg rolls. (I had to make concessions since I was sharing with others who aren't as crazy about heat as I am!) The Panang curry was creamy, smooth and subtly spicy including large pieces of chicken and bell peppers. The Pad Thai also had a good ratio of chicken and vegetables to noodles with bean sprouts on top. I actually appreciated the fact that they weren't mixed in since I prefer them in moderation. Again the spice level was fairly mild but the flavors were delicious nonetheless. And, I'm certain that they would have easily upped the heat had I requested it. The egg rolls were generously filled and wrapped in perfectly crispy shells that weren't too greasy despite being fried. They are served sliced up into bite sized chunks, so there aren't actually 6 whole rolls in the order. My only complaint is that I wished the portion was bigger because I wanted more. As great as the food was, I'll know next time how to adjust my order to make it even better. I'm just glad for this discovery which has brought Thai food back in our rotation of regular meals. read more

Both have maximum flavor and are cooked perfectly. Complimentary soup was a nice touch. They have a huge menu with Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. Servers were so friendly and just attentive enough. Awesome Thai food. Wasn't sure if I would find good Thai food in Texas but this place was good and more importantly, authentic! We had a variety of dishes and they were huge portions. We took most of them home. We ordered: -papaya salad. Nice and fresh, right balance of sour, salty, sweet. -curry noodle dish was like a Tom kha. Flavorful and comforting. -larb was also good. I had read some good things about this place and my family happened to get hungry while passing by so we decided to eat here. What a good choice that was! Everything tasted so fresh and was seasoned/cooked to perfection. My 2 year old loved her baby fried rice option and they were even nice enough to chop her chicken up really well to go with the rice, didn't even realize she was eating the chicken! I got a level 5 spice and normally I'm disappointed with restaurants "spicy options" because they're so weak! Not here! It was so deliciously spicy, that good kinda hurt if that's what you're looking for, haha. My husband also really enjoyed his meal as well. The portion sizes are generous but he still managed to demolish his fried rice. His wasn't spicy like mine, but it was so full of flavor. Staff was polite and very prompt with service and our waitress was very good about making sure we had our drinks filled. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. My husband and I ordered this for dinner. We love Thai and thought we would give it a try in spite of the average star rating. This was absolutely horrible. From the picture you can see the rotting vegetables and the pure fat of the grilled pork with rice vermicelli. My husband got the Thai fries rice and it was so bland and dry.
