Really great experience overall! The food here is awesome--especially the heavenly beef, which is super flavorful and reminds me of really good beef jerky. The chicken satay with peanut sauce is delicious, and the curries are consistently great too. Only a couple small downsides: the sticky rice dessert would be much better with fresh mango instead of frozen, and the service was a bit slow. I stopped in for lunch with my wife who had dined earlier in the week at the restaurant had mentioned the lunch special..Now , I'm a pushover for a lunch special and Chilli Thai comes thru! Everyday there is a lunch special and Thursday was pad kee mow chicken & red curry chicken. YES, you get two satisfying portions of both plus a bowl of rice and a delicious springroll. This was definitely a "FULL PORTION " and all the flavors were savory and delicious. I can't complain about the food at all at this strip center Thai restaurant. It met all expectations. My wife and I go to quite a few Thai restaurants and typically order many of the same items. So what I can do is compare. Crab Rangoon - about average here. Grilled Satay Chicken - a little below what we expect. Larb Chicken Salad - this one really fell short in terms of flavor, quantity of chicken, lettuce presentation. Green Curry with chicken - really well done in terms of flavor and presentation, not too hot, not too soupy, well done and would order again. Pad Thai - did not seem to pack the flavor that we are used to. Next time we will ask for it to be spiced up quite a bit. In fact every dish that then called moderate was by our taste mild in terms of spice. So, food was good overall. What Chillicious lacks completely is any atmosphere at all. Bright lights, light walls, just too bright in every way. It could have just as easily been a fast-food hamburger restaurant in terms of décor. Positive side to that is they are charging prices that fit that style as well, but I would like to see a bit more effort. Given all of this I rate it as a solid 3 leaning to a 3.5. read more

Not sure how chicken turns into tofu and cutting green onions and cabbage means to add anyways. For Christmas Eve, we wanted to enjoy some Thai food and decided to visit our favorite Thai restaurant near Lantana. Our server today was Maddie, and she was fabulous. The service was excellent, so we as always, but Maddie truly went above and beyond. We started with the Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls as our appetizer, and they did not disappoint. For our entrees, we ordered Yellow Curry with Tofu and Yellow Curry with Beef The spices were mild and just to our liking. For our noodle dish, we chose Pad Thai at Level 2, and it was perfect. I appreciate it when the noodles are served already mixed formin. For our rice dish, we had the Pineapple Fried Rice. The grilled pineapple added a delightful flavor. For dessert, we finished with the Mango Sticky Rice. It was delicious--not too sweet, and the fruit was as fresh as could be. If you're in the mood for Asian cuisine that goes beyond the usual Chinese or Japanese dishes, come and try this restaurant. We've been to this great little restaurant about 6-7 times this last year. The food has been great, but it can't seem to break into a fantastic place to eat. They do a nice take-out business, but there is never more than 3 tables occupied at a time. Tonight I realized why. It's the choice of music! The cook or people in the back like to listen to loud rap music, that causes the tables in the dining room to vibrate. It's impossible to hold a conversation in the dining room. I ordered the Thai fried rice with veggies (and mild spicy, I think) and Crunchy spring rolls. The food was very good! This was probably the best fried rice I've had in a long time. The veggies were so fresh and not over cooked. The spice was just enough. Not too much. The spring rolls were good as well. Only drawback was I could tell they were fried in grease that probably needed to be changed or thrown out. Anyway, I definitely will order from here again. I love the fact that they have a lot of plants but they all were dry and the five orchids that were on the table across from us are all dying. Now I have to wait and drive up to the restaurant to get my correct order- while the other dish gets cold!! The taste is still amazing (only reason for 2nd star) but in my order was half the tofu compared to last time, virtually NO veggies in my red curry and my crispy veg rolls were absent altogether. The food is very mediocre here. The pad Kau Kai we ordered was super greasy and very salty. The pad Thai was ok, a little salty towards the end, and the meat was dry and tough to chew. The staff was friendly enough but the service was lacking, and no one bothered to refill our water. The wall separating the kitchen and the dining area has a feet or so opening at the top, so you could hear them doing the stir-fry/using the wok, and it can be a bit loud and distracting at times, but there was no smoke whatnot coming over to the dining area, so it's not that bad. We have remained on the hunt for an amazing Thai place in Flowermound and this wasn't it. The service was severely slow and lacking in attention. When we arrived at 6pm on a Sunday evening, it was less than half full but nearly every table was still dirty. We started with spring rolls fried) they were very greasy and a little over cooked. My husband had the chicken pineapple fried rice. Very good portion size and it tasted great. I got the steak pad see ew and the steak was so over cooked it was reminiscent of beef jerky, the portion size was very small and only one piece of the vegetable listed to be in the dish could be found on my plate. Not to start off the review in a terrible way but certainly hoping this restaurant has a much better fate than the last three that were here for a half breath of time. But if it's all about food then I would say they are on the right track. The menu has a good mix of Thai and some Vietnamese food in as well. We started with a bowl of Tom Kha. It was a very large bowl of the soup. We know now that it a can be a meal unto itself. But in any case the family was there so plenty of mouths to feed. They do the traditional 1-5 with heat. I usually like something along the lines of 6 and they were happy to cooperate. We tried a couple of appetizers as well. The crispy spring rolls (pork) which were pretty good, and the steamed dumplings. I love chili oil and this place had a great version of it. Tried the Massemun curry. This was a very good curry and reminded me of a Thai version of Massala. Just that nice heart-warming home-cooked feeling. We also tried the chicken pho. To be honest I really just can't understand the fascination with chicken in a dish that was created for beef....but my wife loves it and got a nice side of peanut sauce with it. Peanut sauce was a bit lighter and sweeter than some of the others we have had but she loved it. Overall I'd say there was a good job all around. Saw a good number of to-go orders waiting at the front so that's a good sign that people are ordering from the place. Like I said this place has been the kiss of death for restaurants so hope they have a much better fate. Help was super nice and explained a lot with the questions that I had. Also, noticed that the condiments on the table were very dirty, finger prints and appeared to be old reused items. There were certain bottles of items on the table that clearly said they needed to be refrigerated after opening, none of them were refrigerated, appeared to be old, sticky reused bottles. It could be cleaned up a little better, if that is what's on the table then I would hate to see what's in the kitchen not being refrigerated properly.
