Pad Thai Noodles (before)
Keke K.

Cozy spot offering lunch menu (smaller portions) of the regular menu items. I had the chicken panang curry with rice from the main menu and it was excellent. The curry was rich, creamy, balanced & quite a generous portion. The Pad Thai (lunch menu) looked great and came in a solid portion but the chicken was just not it. The chicken was dry with an off taste and the smell was horrible. It felt like just thawed frozen chicken with no seasoning at all.!!! Our server was the sweetest, she was very attentive! She offered to replace the pad Thai, re do the chicken (adding a just for our server) . Even the chef came out to talk through but did tell me that the chicken would've been the same in the remake, so what's the point! Maybe if they could've stir fried it properly ‍ So, I skipped it and tried the Thai veggie roll instead, which was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully plated.

I had high hopes for lunch but was disappointed w/my pad thai. It was sweet! Like a dessert! What the heck????? On top of being sweet, it was spicy as "hell"-literally!!! I have Louisiana lips and have eaten my share of lbs of crawfish, pinching tails and sucking the heads and this was so hot I couldn't eat it. They brought extra noodles in an attempt to balance out the heat. Negative! I couldn't taste anything but heat, no aromatics or any other flavor. The vegetable soup was good and that is probably where I should have stopped. Spring rolls were just ok.

Does not taste like papaya salad

Just no! They don't serve pork bc of the owners religious beliefs. Had I known that I would have never step foot into this place. Its kinda tight in the restaurant. The tables are kinda close to each other. Number 1 thing to know, not authentic. The food is catered to texans white demographic. The food: bland and no hint of what it is to be thai. Thai food is robust, aromatic, and full of spice. This place, it didn't have any of that. The server got my order wrong. However it was quickly fixed. I waited for my food for a good bit but when they got my order wrong they served the correct dish quickly. I'm fine with that, not a big deal. I just hated the papaya salad that tasted like a vietnamese salad. The curry lacked everything. It tasted like something Rachel Ray would make. The pad thai was OK. It was very salty and didn't have much tamarind flavor. Ill just stick to eating asian food in california or vegas. Texas is a no no so far for me unless it's houston. This is an edit * someone messaged me and said it's false info they don't serve pork bc the owner is Muslim. I want to state clearly that my server verbally told me this and indeed when I perused through the menu, there were no pork items. I gave this place a 1 bc I am from Thailand, grew up there as a child and became a thai chef. This is my opinion about the food here. If you're not happy about my 1 star honest opinion, that's too bad. I use this platform to tell my truth. I'm not going to lie.

Good red curry! Food came out fast and was very hot and fresh. It was really busy so this is clearly a popular place. Hostess and server were nice.

Superb friendly service. The owner gave us great advice as it was our first time. House salad with a peanut dressing and pineapple was a wonderful starter that we shared along with a bowl of delicious Tom Kha soup. All the ingredients tasted SO fresh. Followed the starters with a three curry sampler (brilliant idea) and the best Pad Thai EVER! What a gem in Denton, TX

Pad Thai. Flavorless. Colorless. Bland. Dry.

Hands down the WORST pad Thai I have ever come across. Where is the sauce? Where is the flavor? Where is the color? This plate was as bland as it looks. 2/10 It was edible, but not good. If you want GOOD pad Thai that's nearly authentic, while staying in Denton, go to Royal Yum. You're welcome.

Great food. Orders the yellow chicken curry and it was so delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. Cozy little spot!

Kao Soi Chiang Mai Noodles

Food was delicious. I got the Kao Soi Chiang Mai Noodles and the broth was delicious. I also got the Thai tea and it's probably the best I've had in Denton!

Tofu soup with mushrooms

Not my favorite place. It was just messy inside, things were broken and cluttered. We didn't get much attention from our waitress. The food was not great. I got a "soup" But was like water with uncooked vegetables. The spring roll was fine but nothing extraordinary. I will not come back

Chicken Pad Thai

I was stuck at work on a Sunday so I decided to Doordash some Thai. I was craving Chicken Pad Thai and Thai Square had the top reviews. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and Spring Rolls. I went with the hot option and if I had a do-over, I'd go with the Thai hot. I would've liked a bigger portion size of Pad Thai for the price($15.50) but it had good flavor, just lacked the heat I desire, 4.2/5. Good portion of spring rolls,($7) I just wasn't impressed. They had a crunchy outside but had a chewy inside, they just didn't do it for me. 3/5.

Service was fast and friendly. I do have to say for the food it is great but the servings are huge! Bring your appetite! Of course, whatever you don't finish you can take to go but yes servings are large. It is a cute little place with nice evening dining. You can tell it is a fast paced, family owned, local spot! Overall... YUMMY!

My husband and I love this place! We arrive by 5:30 if we do not have reservations. Everything we've tried has been wonderful.

The food was so good, as well as service. My only complaint that music was too loud. Will go there any time I'm around

When we walked in, it was very quiet--just us and one other table. If you're looking for a calm,…read moretucked-away dinner, you'll probably love that. For me, it leaned a little too quiet, but it did make the whole experience feel slow-paced and intentional instead of rushed. The space itself is cute and thoughtfully put together, simple without trying too hard. Service matched that energy--easy and natural. We were helped by both staff members throughout the meal, and they were kind, efficient, and attentive without hovering. The vegetarian egg rolls were crispy and solid, but the real star was the house sweet & sour sauce. I'm still thinking about it. It's that good. The green bean app was another win--crispy, flavorful, and super snackable. I personally would've loved a little more sauce, but that's a small thing. The Volcano Catfish (2/5 spice) absolutely delivered. Huge portion, perfectly cooked, and everything on the plate worked together. The fried rice soaked up all the flavor and held its own. This is the dish that makes the price make sense. The Pad Thai with chicken (1/5 spice) was a sleeper hit. Once you add the lime and mix everything together, it really opens up--bright, balanced, and surprisingly good. Only note for me--the chicken wasn't my favorite. Not bad, just not my preference. I'd order it again with shrimp next time (my husband thought the chicken was good). Overall, nothing felt rushed, nothing was missed--just a really solid dinner. Would I come back? Yes. Would I come back specifically for that sauce? Immediately.

Of course that's based on my memory and I have ADD, so who knows. However, it gave me the impression that some of the staff might be the same. They have a good selection of appetizers to choose from. The money bags are great and deliciously crispy. The crab rangoon is especially tasty, better than the previous restaurant here and better than I've had at most nearby restaurants. I found the tulip dumplings to be a bit greasy and overcooked, but would be willing to try them again in case it was an off batch. The BBQ Pork Fried rice was pretty decent, but I liked it better from Khao San. The rice was fine, but the pork seemed slightly undercooked which changes the texture and made it less satisfying. The yellow curry with jasmine rice was quite good, I liked it a lot and would definitely order it again. Although I noticed the rice was not jasmine rice. However, under Sides on the menu I noticed several rice options listed, so this was probably just a mix up of orders during the dinner rush. It didn't negatively impact my meal, just an observation. Overall, I found the food to be quite good, just a few execution flaws that could be the result of being new, short staffed or especially busy. No big deal. I recall this restaurant being kind of small and cramped, so I prefer delivery for now. There's a good chance they did some magic with the renovation and I would like to try out their lunch specials if I'm in the area on a weekday before 3pm, so I may find out soon.
