This is my favorite restaurant of all time and I've dined out in all 50 states and many countries. I've been a regular during the lunch rush for quite some time now. The food is amazing, the waitstaff are very professional, friendly is a given with this staff and the ambiance is exactly what I need during this time of the day. I happened to pass by this establishment on the way to an appointment. The outside doesn't look so impressive but I looked at the menu and decided to give it a chance. Where I come from often the best Chinese food comes from places that look like they have seen better days. As such, my review is strictly about the food I received and my online takeout experience. Regarding the food? OMG, it was delicious. I ordered the ginger chicken dish with fried rice. Let me tell you everything was super fresh. Clearly the zucchini, carrots and onions started out fresh, not frozen, and were stir fried to perfection. Not over cooked or uncooked. The chicken was cut into small pieces but appears to be perhaps breast meat sliced thin and kind of cut/chopped into small pieces. The ginger sauce was very delicious and clearly had seasoning and tasted to me to be homemade rather than something out if a bottle. The fried rice was good, nothing super special but there was no extra charge for fried rice which is unusual and a nice touch. The portion was generous enough and very reasonably priced at around $12.00. I will definitely be back. I'm really glad I came across Mr. Chopsticks. read more

I grew up in Denton. I used to eat at Mr. Chopsticks at the original location. everyday when I was studying at UNT. Every time I return to see family I eat at Mr. Chopsticks. Tonight the server was so unfocused & awkward. She didn't listen to my order, brought the wrong item and needed to reminded to bring my drink warm. The food was mediocre, the pad Thai noodles weren't cooked properly, & were over sauced, the rice in the sushi roll was overcooked and arrived drowning in a soy based sauced. The Service was great for this visit. I like how the restaurant pulls from the "pool" of UNT students, most of the time you get a friendly, attentive and helpful server. Don't think that you'll get a regular tho, they are always seeming to rotate their staff. :) Food is great. We've been going there for several years and have never gotten anything we didn't like or wouldn't order again. I really like the varied menu options, all across the Asian cuisine. Tonight we had Cashew shrimp and shrimp Egg Foo Young, both were huge (we took over half home), hot and very tasty. Definitely fresh from the kitchen. The sushi is good, great to round out a dinner. One of my very favorite spots for crab rangoons! Very casual restaurant right next to the UNT campus. I use to grab rangoons to go all the time while up in that area. All their starters were delicious from the potstickers to the spring rolls. I did have a California Roll (not pictured) that wasn't my favorite and the Chicken Rice Soup wasn't up there for me either. The soup portion size was huge! Some of the food fares better for me over others, but can't beat the prices. read more

It's impossible to tell who works here because the wait staff looks like a pickup basketball team. I would be fine with that if they acted like they gave a shit. One kid played on his phone while I stood 5 feet from him waiting to be helped. Food isn't bad but the place is not super clean and with the way you get treated, it's kind of hard to forgive the dirtiness and lack of service... Called a large to-go in for carry out and naturally, they didn't get it all. Had to go back in and let them know they'd missed some stuff. This was horrid food. We ordered several different items just to try, our total was well over $100, for reference. Each item tasted almost exactly the same - flavorless mush. We were even told on two different entrees that the "sauce was the same". How can it be the same sauce if it's listed as an entirely different dish? The only thing we found palatable was the green beans. The service was fine, nothing special, nothing bad. But the food is absolutely disgusting. Mr. Chopsticks was a staple back in college and I'm so glad it tastes just as good still. I'm pretty sure nearly every time I've gone, I get the Basil Chicken Fried Rice. It's full of flavor and the serving is great for leftovers. The fried pot stickers are also great. They are very crispy and great pairing with the sauce. I tried the chicken curry puff and it was okay. It was like an empanada with curry flavor. My partner ordered the red curry and it could use more flavor. It tasted mostly of potato and the pork was okay. He enjoyed my meal more. The venue is spacious and they do have to-go equipped with a drive thru window. I will share that this place with cleanliness is more of a two out of five. The counter was sticky at the bar top, I moved a table display to find a dead bug, and there's no sink in sight when observing to-go orders being made in the kitchenette up front. Yummy food! Everything was super fresh! We went the night before Thanksgiving and due to college being on break there wasn't anyone there. The staff was friendly. Mr. Chopsticks has been around for a few years now, and it's either a great experience or a bad experience. The food is good... if you make sure they understand what you want. Combination 2 comes with the choice of white/friend rice and vegetables. The first time we got the combination 2 they served it stir fried seasoned and tasted great. This time we got some ugly unseasoned vegetables and we're told it costs extra to stir fry our vegetables???? Confused. My Kung Pao chicken was great though! Last thing, I'm not a proponent of "the customer is always right" but if I have an issue with my dish don't try to make excuses justifying it or say "it says steamed vegetables on the menu" when it clearly doesn't. The person authorized to do refunds was not there. Took my number and will call back. We'll see if they do. I read some great reviews & thought that we would give this place a whirl. Unfortunately there was very little meat in the dishes mostly rice or noodles & vegetables (price looked reasonable until you realize you get very little chicken). The food was lukewarm warm at best, wondering if it's just put together off a buffet? The spring roll was soft & doughy (had to put it in the air fryer). I have some nostalgia for this place due to my time at UNT; however, it is now dark and dingy. While I understand time takes it's toll, that's not an excuse to clean, organize, and replace light bulbs when they go out (there were several). This is in addition to: the server bringing the wrong saki (we did not realize until after the bottle was opened). The Basil chicken was greasy, I ordered it with noodles, not rice, so I received only about 8 noodles, that's all. My +1 ordered sesame chicken and the chicken was cold upon arrival to the table. After we saw the Mesmerica show, we were hungry. Since my boy graduated from UNT and the show was in Denton, we gave him a shout and asked for Asian food recommendations. He recommended THIS restaurant, sorry that was rude We sat in the sushi bar seats and were impressed at how fresh the fish for the sushi looked. However, I'm pretty sure they are just there as props. I say that because if you look at my Salmon photo, on the Sushi Bar, it is a beautiful and rich orange-red color. When our Philadelphia Roll arrived, the shrimp inside of it was a very pale pink, not even close to bright and fresh looking. Since it was our first, and now last, visit, we like to try a few different appetizers/entrees to see whats good. So we ordered Crab Rangoons, Fried Chicken Dumplings/Pot Stickers, Soft Shell , a Philadelphia Roll, a Shrimp Tempura Roll and an order of Orange Chicken w "fried" rice. Ok, so the Crab Rangoons were orange cream inside, not your general cream cheese color. The flavor was not good. The Fried Chicken Potstickers were the best appetizer out of everything we ordered! They actually looked like regular fried potstickers and tasted great too! The Soft Shell Crab was meh, just look at the photo and you'll see how insignificant it really is. The Philadelphia Roll tasted like a Philadelphia Roll, but I was afraid to eat it as the Salmon was a very dull pink in color. The Shrimp Tempura was ok. Finally,the Orange Chicken was "Orange Breading", it was terrible. And the "fried" rice looked like they simply added soy sauce to their steamed rice. The waiter came over to check on us and saw the entire plate of "Orange" Chicken sitting next to me and asked if we wanted a to go box. We made a face while nodding "no thank you." And he literally bussed EVERY plate off of the table, EXCEPT the plate of the "Orange" Chicken, ‍ It was literally still sitting there after we paid and as we're walking out, he walked right past it again, wo picking it up, whatever... All of this to say, yeah, we probably will not be eating there ever again. Such a poor experience. My Son generally recommends great places to eat. Maybe because he was poor while in college, that was the only place they could afford to eat Asian food, so he thought it was really good, lol ‍ read more

Obviously not a high end restaurant of some sort. Inside is outdated and needs some TLC. Service was pretty good, but I was the only one in there, so I'm not sure how it is on a busy day. My food was fresh and tasted pretty good. Pretty decent menu item selection, including lots of sushi rolls to pick from. Was passing through this town for work and decided to try it out.
