The food came out fairly quickly and the service was alright. It's not small inside and it was spacious. Why the 2 stars? flavor. I was sourily disappointed that it lacked flavor in every dish. I just don't like asian food that is catered to certain groups. People should like food for what it originally tastes like. I was surprised there was a vietnamese restaurant here near my hotel while visiting denton. I may be a bit harsh but I've had a lot of pho everywhere and this is the worst tasting one I've ever had. It tasted like water. My com thit nuong has 0 flavor, however the nuc mam was decent. The shrimp wrap was OK. I don't see myself coming to denton again but if I did, I will try other restaurants. read more

A nice hole-in-the-wall with good quality for the price. The food alltasted fresh and tasty and was served in a good amohnt of time. The staff was nice and friendly. I am knocking a star because I do think that the location could be easily spruced up for a nicer dine-in experience. The tables felt small, the plates barely fit on them and my group was a bit crowded. While it was clean, the furniture and decor felt kind of cheap. I'd still probably return because the food was great, though! read more

Pho Asian Star - Combination Pho soup - Vietnamese Near Me - Corinth, Texas

It really hits the spot on a cold day for pho or beef stew - or a warm day with their grilled pork vermicelli, served cold with a nice vinaigrette. Today, was an overcast and cool day so perfect for lunch. We have been coming here for years, as soon as they opened, and this place is the best in this area if you don't want to drive to Carrollton. It's family owned and I like that a lot! We popped in a little before 11a. The wait person immediately stopped by for orders. Starting off with one grilled pork spring roll and one shrimp spring roll, waters, a root beer and coconut boba. We went ahead and ordered the small seafood pho and a beef stew with egg noodles. The rolls came out quickly. The peanut sauce is good and today, I used the spicy chili sambal sauce in a bottle on the table. That was very yummy. Grilled pork at a pho restaurant is so different than I'm used to. Nice and tender. The fried shrimp wraps are also good but there is only room for one appetizer today. My hubby's pho came out steaming hot. This was the first time I tried the beef stew with egg noodles. I was expecting big, American style, egg noodles and was pleasantly surprised to see they're more like thin vermicelli (rice noodes) with more chewiness to them. I would order this again - or with a crusty little french bread loaf all to yourself. What are you waiting for? Go there. Get some. Life is too short for boring food! read more

I'm just not having any luck with Pho restaurants around my area. 2 stars because service was wonderful and food wasn't that bad. My bowl of pho was just warm, not even close to hot. My husband's grilled pork vermicelli had a ton of bean sprouts in it and it was cold . Might as well call it a bean sprout salad. I just can't give it 5 stars because the restaurant is filthy. Roaches crawling around everywhere. Imagine when the lights are off. Friendly service but gotta get the place clean and inspected. read more

Good food for a decent price. Staff is always nice and accommodating. Love their veggie and tofu pho

It is not surprise, I Pho sure love eating Pho! However that makes me more pickier than the average person when it comes to pho. It's all about the broth! Pho Asian Star nailed it!! It was so delicious and you can tell they cooked it for at least 24 hours. I also love that they have all the different spices at the tables: Chili oil, Siracha and Chili mix Most places I ask for Angry pho but they let me make it to my liking. I recommend this place and would come and eat here agai! read more

Pho Asian Star - Shrimp pho With lots of chili oil - Vietnamese Near Me - Corinth, Texas

Looking for Asian flavors on Saturday night we checked Yelp and found my friend Richards recommendation for Asian Star and decided to pop in Unpretentious location on south bound lanes of I35 in a strip mall your are greeted as soon as you arrive We found a table and went thru the simple menu, we were hungry and decided to sample several things. We started with shrimp rolls - they were delicious with large size shrimp, rice wrapper was soft and fresh and of course it came with a yummy peanut sauce 5 Beef Pad Thai, very delicate noodles , nice size portion and not saturated in peanut nut sauce as other places will do it where your not able to taste the other ingredients 5 Chicken Pho , nice portion with plenty of fresh ingredients to add flavor but honestly even after adding all ingredients the broth seemed lacking in flavor 3 Chicken and Tofu platter with white rice 3.5. Good flavors, chicken was thigh meat which is my favorite but felt more chicken would have been better Overall, nice business..friendly and fresh food.. worth the visit read more

It's a mom n pop pho restaurant. All the pho places are very similar! Good quick service. Tasty soup. Why do I drop a star? It's just...a bit pricey. Pho is supposed to be cheap quick food, but ten+ dollars for a bowl of bottom of the barrel noodles and bits and ends of meat is too much. Also, perhaps it's new but the broth is a bit less flavorful than I'm used to, but I dump hawt chili sawse all over the soup so it's not a big deal. Maybe I'm the one that's wrong here. I just recall this type of food being five bucks, and not too long ago. Overall we do come here often, it's good pho. read more

Pho Asian Star - small #25 pho tai nam gan sach - rare steak, tendon, tripe, flank with extra noodles - Vietnamese Near Me - Corinth, Texas

DEFINITELY a good as everyone says! The food was SO fresh and the chicken was cooked so well! When I go to Vietnamese restaurants, I usually order vermicelli noodles instead of pho, because that's my favorite dish. I got the chicken vermicelli noodles and they were DELICIOUS. All of the veggies were so fresh and the chicken was so flavorful! We also ordered the shrimp spring rolls which were also great. The portion sizes were large especially for the price we paid! The service was wonderful, so welcoming and kind! I drink a lot of water and the water cup was always full. I would definitely come back here when visiting Denton! read more

Pretty consistent whenever I order from here. It's a decent pho place given the area. The staff is friendly although sometimes when ordering pick up it's difficult to understand (language barrier). Even though we ordered food to go (ate it at the hotel while we were getting ready for a wedding), the hospitality and service of this place made it a 5-star review. I had called the order in over the phone and already the lady on the other end was motherly and cute. When my boyfriend went to pick up the food, he noted that their customer service was really good and it seemed family owned. They really try here, which is hard to find at Pho restaurants. We both got the Grilled Pork (one rice plate and one vermicelli version) and both were good. The meat had a lot of flavor! If only we dined in, we would have totally tried the Pho, but you know, that's kind of hard to get to-go and eat in your hotel room. read more

Called to order take out. The restaurant said they no longer have Pad Thai or stir fry dishes! Disappointing!

Food is excellent everytime. Meal always comes out fresh and hot. Service is very fast. Dining area is clean and comfortable feeling.

This is a simple and bare bones location that is pretty popular with a lot of the locals. The menu is diverse enough to include several Vietnamese dishes as well. My wife and daughter were with me. We had Vietnamese egg rolls, shrimp spring rolls. Wife had a white chicken meat pho and I had the number 25 with some extra tripe. Bill came in around $30 and I'd say worth it. The pho is good and we met the owner when she came out of the back. She's definitely Vietnamese and it appears to be a family run business. They are very friendly and quite frankly they never miss an opportunity to fill up your water cup for you. It's pretty good, but not that mind blowing or soul fulfilling broth. But's pretty good and I would say a fantastic representation of Vietnamese cuisine. It was a pretty busy day as people kept coming in, getting soup, paying and leaving. Quite a system and the food was out in less than 5 mins nearly every time. Comes out nice and hot, with the steam pouring off the top. I requested the meat to be sent out rare and they were accommodating. What can I say? I like watching it brown in that hot soup. They do have red chili oil which is a must for me. read more
