The tteokbokki is pretty good. I loved the generous amount of cheese on top and the dumplings were a great touch. The rice cakes were perfectly chewy and the sauce had a nice kick. Friendly staff and quick service. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!

It's been years since I tried food from The Taste and it's as delicious as I remember it. Prices have gone up a bit but that's not surprising since things have gone up in general, but worth the price. I ordered the Pork Cutlet Eagle Box (as seen in pic) to go and loved it! Placed a call to order and was made fresh. Great service! Definitely recommend! Haven't had the opportunity to eat in but when I've gone the atmosphere has been relaxing.

The epitome of a hidden gem. I stopped in with a coworker for a late lunch and I was not disappointed. I had the beef bulgogi plate and he had the udon. I could drink bulgogi sauce and be happy, and the meat was tender and delicious. The egg rolls were also yummy. Definitely give the kimchi a try if you've never had it. It's a little hole in the wall walk-up to order place where the food is the star of the show. The service is also friendly and quick.

This was my favorite place to grab lunch between classes when I was attending UNT. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the food is delicious traditional Korean dishes, and the staff is very helpful. This is a great spot if you are craving Korean food or wanting something from a great hole-in-the-wall spot.

This visit was even better than the last! The bento box is an excellent way to try multiple things without committing to too much food. This portion was more than enough for me. I got bulgolgi chicken last time and this visit, and this serving was WAY better. You can even see it in the picture. The taste was fantastic- I can't quite explain what bulgolgi tastes like as I don't have it often, but it's very delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of the kimchi. I've had better. The dumplings and tempura fried shrimp had excellent breading. Everything tasted fresh. I got many compliments on good the food smelled at work. Great price for so much food. And the man serving me was very nice! Good came out quick. Need to come here more often.

Well, where do I start! Kinda a fast food restaurant which can be Hit or Miss! Today it was a total MISS! Appetizers were Shrimp Tempura and Fried Dumplings! The Shrimp was good, from there it went down hill! The Dumplings were cold and tough to chew. We ordered two Eagle Boxes; Korean BBQ Rib-lets with White Rice, Shrimp Tempura, Fried Calamari, Fried Dumpling and a mini Yogurt Drink! The other was; Spicy Pork Bulgogi, with White Rice, Shrimp Tempura, Fried Calamari, Fried Dumpling and a mini Yogurt Drink! The Rib-let's were ok, nice amount of meat on the ribs. White Rice is White Rice! The Spicy Pork Bulgogi had a foul smell to it! Also tasted bad! I ate one bite of my dish! I had to cover the plate with my napkin due to the bad smell. I have a photo of my Eagle box of not eaten food! I hope no one has an experience as bad as mine! I wish the the best but I will not be back. So sad! I was really looking forward to eating there. We wanted to order the Kimbap but they were out of it.

We needed to find a place to eat close to the basketball game we were going to so we ended up here at The Taste. It's a tiny place and the seating area could use some upgrades for sure, the lady at the front counter was very nice and helpful. The menu is limited and a bit confusing with this "Eagle Box" option which isn't explained very well so I had to ask the lady what this was and she just said it's a little bit of everything lol, still don't know what it is. Anyway I decided to order the Beef Bulgogi and it was actually pretty good, I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first experience with Beef Bulgogi . I think of your in the neighborhood looking for some quick and tasty Korean food then this place is a good option.

I got a bento box and love the variety! It was really yummy and pretty affordable. Service was quick and polite. I dined-in and had a nice time sitting by the window. Glad I stopped here!

Nice little mom and pop Korean restaurant across from the North Texas College campus. Food was made fresh, great prices, and the amount of food you received was good for the price. If I was in town I'd come here again.

It was ok, probably more tailored to college kids who got tired of the cafeteria food. Paid $6 for what tasted exactly like a bag of Korean Shin ramen with an egg added to it. The pot that the ramen came out with also showed its age. The food in the eagle box was barely enough for an adult, so I would suggest getting the meal instead. Many of the tables are uneven, so don't move them because you'll have to put napkins under the table legs again. The parking could be a pain, I think they only have like 2 or 3 dedicated parking spots. Honestly, if you really want decent Korean food, drive to Carrollton instead.

Best mapo tofu ever. The staff is always friendly and they stayed open during this past snow storm. We were so grateful they did.

My boyfriend and I's second time here, and we absolutely love it. The atmosphere is very chill,…read moreservice is thorough and pleasant, and the food is almost to die for. We look forward to the salmon crispy rice bites and cowboy bebop's (even though we're surprisingly not whiskey drinkers). From the poke bowls to the seared tuna sashimi, everything is delicious. Will definitely continue to come back here!!

I have eaten at enough sushi restaurants to know the formula…read more Step 1: Install bamboo. Step 2: Add a dragon. Step 3: Play mysterious flute music. Step 4: Name every roll after either a volcano, a ninja, or an apocalypse. Komodo Loco apparently looked at that formula and said, "Nah." This place has actual character. The restaurant is dark and cool without feeling like you're being interrogated. There are cozy little nooks everywhere, and somehow it manages to feel both laid-back and upscale. Like if a speakeasy and a sushi restaurant had a child who grew up with excellent taste. Then the food arrived. Look, I've had plenty of sushi. I've had good sushi. I've had "my friend won't stop talking about this sushi" sushi. Komodo Loco belongs in the last category. The fish was incredibly fresh, but what really stood out was that the rolls didn't all taste like slight variations of spicy mayo negotiating with cream cheese. The flavors were genuinely original. We ordered the Crispy Rice Bites, the T-Dub Roll, and the Horacio Roll based on our server's recommendations. The Crispy Rice Bites were so good I briefly considered ordering a second round before I had finished the first. The T-Dub Roll disappeared from the plate so quickly that I suspect it may have violated several laws of physics. The Horacio Roll was one of those dishes that makes you stop talking mid-sentence and stare into the middle distance while reconsidering every life choice that led you to not order two of them. Which brings me to our server: Breann. Or Breanna. I apologize for not knowing which one. In my defense, I was busy entering a committed relationship with sushi. My daughter is moving to Denton, and since we don't live here, we asked what we should order. Breann/Breanna immediately became the Gandalf of menu navigation. There was no hesitation. No "everything is good." No vague server diplomacy. Just confident recommendations that absolutely delivered. She was kind, funny, helpful, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. More importantly, she made my daughter feel at home in a city she's about to call home. As a dad, that meant a lot. I also loved how Komodo Loco celebrated Pride Month. Not because restaurants have to weigh in on everything, but because the atmosphere simply communicated: "Hey, you're welcome here." And honestly, that's one of the best things a restaurant can do. Good food fills your stomach. A welcoming place fills the room. Komodo Loco managed to do both. So yes, I'll be back every time I'm in Denton. My daughter thinks she's moving here for school. I think she's moving here so I'll have an excuse to eat at Komodo Loco several times a year. One of us is probably right.
