    Egg drop soup
    Lysette R.

I tried Big Wok after Hot Spots (next door) disappointed me twice in a row with dry and overly battered General tso's chicken. I ordered an egg drop soup and sesame chicken with fried rice. $14 for the entire order. The egg drop soup had great flavor, but the wonton strips tasted stale. There was no crunch. The fried rice is usually good, I've gotten the lunch special several times. The "fried rice" I got with the sesame chicken was very disappointing. I wasn't expecting any meat in the fried rice as I got a meat entree, but it was just some egg and a string or two of onion. Should've just gotten white rice as this is basically what that was and I believe there was an up charge for the fried rice. The sesame chicken is good. The pieces of chicken are smaller and easier to eat; they also aren't overly breaded. There were two random pieces of broccoli in there, which felt unnecessary and odd. I can't speak to the ambiance as I got drive thru, however, from what I was able to see from my car it looks like a normal fast food restaurant. Not the greatest Chinese food I've ever had, but it's better than my recent experiences at Hot Spots.

This review is on Frilly's lunch special…read more I stopped by Frilly's one Friday on my way back from the casino with a couple of friends. Their family is from Louisiana and they wanted Cajun food so we decided to try Frilly's since they had good yelp reviews. We arrived around 2:40 and decided to try the lunch special. I got the lunch crawfish combo. The price of $12.99 was very affordable. We ordered and were quickly seated. The service overall was good. We got our own water and got our food pretty quickly. The ambiance is casual sports family feel. I was excited with the quantity of food I got for the price. I got a large quantity of fried crawfish, crawfish étouffée, and dirty rice. The fried crawfish was tasty. The dirty rice was ok. I've definitely had better dirty rice with more flavor and more of a gravy with it. I also thought the étouffée was tasty but added a little hot sauce. Overall I liked Frilly's and would definitely return for the lunch special.

The catfish was really salty to me which was a first but the jalapeño poppers were great! Not much seafood filling and I saw a lot of people say they're too spicy but I like spice! The margarita was disappointing as well as it was just on the rocks mix you can purchase from the store put over ice and for the price it was an over reach. The Abita beer they gave me to make up for it did the job! If a happy hour was offered would be back but with the current economy going to save my coins for elsewhere.
