Visiting Denton for a couple of weeks and have been enjoying the scene. The Catch always looked busy (a good sign) and I love gumbo and catfish so the car steered itself in. Everything on the menu looked great. I choose the French Quarter, catfish, étouffée and bam bam shrimp. Price very reasonable and the serving was huge. Étouffée was very good, catfish perfectly cooked and the bam bam shrimp were a great surprise, very crunchy with a flavorful sauce. A little LA Hot Sauce and a perfect meal. BYOB on the liquor. I've got another week here and will be in for the boil or a Po'Boy before I leave. read more

I'm going to start this review with I'm still throughly PO'd at YELP for taking my 2025'Elite Status away! 10 yrs of loyalty. That said The Catch is the best Fried Seafood in Texas. The place was packed...rightfully so. My only "irk" is the restaurant says it has catfish and whitefish on the menu. This is what drove us here. Hoping for cod or haddock. Instead we learned from the cashier that their whitefish was also catfish. Bummer...I like Catfish but love cod and Haddock. Good news their catfish was amazing. Hot, seasoned perfectly cooked to perfection. The shrimp was the best fried shrimp in Texas and their fries were seasoned and hot . Coleslaw...superb! My Sis got the chicken fingers and loved em. Went for a late lunch, it was 2:30 on a Sunday this place was still pretty busy! Tried the catfish basket, over great experience from service to the food. Catfish was perfectly and crispy, fries were seasoned well and the hush puppy was also good. I will definitely be back! The tartar sauce was also amazing. The only negative was the low quality cheap ketchup, it's tasted like nothing. Why do so much work to perfectly cook fries and then serve cheap bland ketchup? Our family of four came in for dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered one of the family meals, and it came out piping hot and fresh. Let me 1st start with the food is great but everytime I order at the Tyler Catch my order is never right. I'm the type of person that will eat the same thing for days and never change what I order. The little girl Amber who claim she is the General Manager is very rude and do not need to interact with customers. She needs to learn how to talk to people. I said to her how she was talking to another customer is how she should have talked to me, she stopped focusing on that customer to go back and forth with me. Also while I was talking to the cashier who she didnt train well because the cashier didnt know the menu, she walk up and stood there and then started cutting me off saying maam Im trying to help you order you food basically saying everything but can you shut up while I train her on the menu so she will know your order. She was very rude and I will never eat there again because of her and at one point I ate there everyday. F IS FOR FISH is killing the catch anyway. F is for Fish had a line outside that's the only reason why I even went to the catch. I honestly will never be able to enjoy the catch again. Today was my 2nd visit. Don't know what took me so long between visits, but my mom was really craving some fried fish so we decided on The Catch. She's been threatening to try it for the past few years and she finally decided to check it out. My mom ordered the two piece white fish with Coleslaw and ordered my niece the popcorn shrimp kids meal. I ordered the one piece white fish with tots and a drink. Honestly didn't take more than about 6 min from ordering to having brought out to us. Food was fresh and HOT, just the way I like it. Literally had to pull the fish apart to let it cool off, but my goodness the batter was the perfect crunch and the seasoning they use is delicious! Tots also had the perfect crunch and seasoning. Once my nieces shrimp cooled down she was tearing it up! My mom was impressed and telling me how we needed to bring my dad up there. The place is clean, not greasy floors like other fish places I've been in the past. Had a honey atmosphere and there were several people there. We definitely found a new fish place to get our fix. Everyone was nice and polite. The cooks are ordained by God. If I could eat there everyday I would. Prices are good as well. You will not break your wallet. One last thing, don't order the gumbo. Went here for the first time this afternoon after passing by so many times and it was great! My husband got the lemon pepper fish (sorry, cant remember which particular fish) and I had the French quarter with blackened catfish. So much food and everything was delicious. The staff was very friendly and the seating area was cozy. If it hadn't been so cold we probably would have eaten on the outdoor patio. We will definitely make this regular spot. read more

The Catch 07-11-24 Brought Dinner home from The Catch! We had boudin Balls, Bang Bang Shrimp, and Fried Mushrooms for appetizers Popcorn Shrimp and Chicken Tenders with Fries. All the food was packaged good and hot. All the food tasted so good! Cooked and seasoned really well. Still need to try the seafood boil. Drive through seems to be their main business, but you can go inside and sit in a limited seating environment. Fried Green tomatoes: some of the best I've ever had! They come w/ a sauce they don't need... they are on-point! My wife and I had dinner on 2-22-26 and had crawfish and a boil of crab leg. They were out of crab legs and subbed with shrimp. Shrimp was over cooked and hard to peal. My crawfish was way overcooked and soggy! Seasoning was like globs dumped on everything. On top of it they had no napkins/paper towels. My favorite dining experience happens when I see a new restaurant, visit unexpectedly with high expectations and they meet my high expectations! The Catch was delicious! They had lots of seafood options to choose from, but I got the fried fish and gator combo with fried okra and added 4 jumbo shrimp. Everything was battered and seasoned to perfection, fresh, and sooo delicious! Yummmm!! The portion was pretty big, I was able to share my food with my daughter and we were both full after eating. Inside they didn't have many tables and the parking is also pretty scarce, so try to arrive when is not a busy time. I got my food pretty quickly, and was checked on often which I appreciated. The fish was just okay, didn't taste very fresh, the breading was okay. I enjoyed the red beans and rice as a side, but I would get the fries next time. Hush puppies were just okay.
