When we walked in, it was only people of color, so that indicator probably meant that i was in for a good authentic meal. The interior had multiple tables spreads around and on the right side of the building it was where the people were taking orders and preparing the food to take to your table. We ended up getting coco bread, chicken stew and half jerk chicken with fries. The stew came with two side dishes, so we ended up getting rice&peas and collar greens. The jerk chicken only came with fries but it was only 13 bucks. you do have the option to get jerk chicken with two sides, but that would have been 19 dollars. The coco bread was really fully and if you dip it into the stew chicken, it takes it to another level. Both dishes were excellent and the kick on the jerk chicken was spicy but not too bad where you couldn't enjoy it. Service was great, and they were friendly. Located right behind the McDonalds. All in all, i'll come back if i'm in the area.

I have no idea where I first heard about this place, but I'm so glad I found it…read more Right after we ordered, the server brought over what looked like simple grilled pieces of bread. I was trying to save room for the main course, but there was something so delicious about those unassuming little bites. They were warm, slightly crisp, and completely addictive. We came specifically for the lunch specials, and they did not disappoint. I had my eye on the Piccadilly, a flavorful mix of ground meat with spices, potatoes, and what I believe were raisins and olives. It comes with white rice and black beans, but you can have them mixed together, which is absolutely the way to go. The combination of savory and slightly sweet flavors was fantastic. My only small wish is that it came with a few more sweet plantains on the side. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich, which comes with a side. We chose fries and iced tea, and they generously brought us BOTH large iced teas. The sandwich itself was huge, easily big enough to take half home. It was perfectly grilled, warm, and melty. If I could change one thing, it would be to make the bread a bit smaller while keeping all that delicious filling. This place is also a great value. Definitely worth stopping by and checking out.

We ordered a variety of plates to share and everything was great: -arroz con pollo- takes a little time to make it fresh but so worth the wait! it was amazing. -bistec de palomilla- a little over cooked but great flavor. -cuban sampler- highly recommend to sample a bunch of stuff. -side of platanos- a classic -flan- very good -dulce de leche- a little too soggy for my taste -mojitos were excellent! We had a great girls' night here and will definitely be back again!

RJH has been my list of places to visit since it opened 2 years ago. I was in Texas for work when I…read moreheard it was opening but left before I could try it. So how good was RJH?? Worth the flight from NY to San Antonio then the 4.5 hour drive from San Antonio there! And yes! The reason for the trip WAS RJH! My friend and I went in Monday around 6:30pm. We were greeted immediately as we walked in and given the option of seating. It was pretty empty with the exception of one other person at the bar and some people coming in for takeout. It's a really big place and it's beautiful in here. LOVE the big Bob Marley/Jamaican flag mural in the back that's also visible from outside. The service was really good. Everything came out quickly and was hot and fresh! We also chatted it up with the owner Adrian who is amazing! Drinks: we went with the rum punch and stuck with it. We had 3-4 rounds and it def punched us at the end of the night! Lol it's the perfect balance of strong and tasty. Food: we started with the Escovitch and RJH Honey BBQ Jerk wings. The Escovitch was soo bomb! I'm not a fan of BBQ sauce but I did try those and will say it was a good balance and the BBQ sauce wasn't overpowering. For entrees we had the "tour of Jamaica" and the Escovitch whole red snapper. The tour of Jamaica is a great idea because it allows you to sample the oxtail, curry goat, and jerk chicken without having to purchase 3 different meals. It's also served with white rice or rice and peas, festival, and steamed cabbage. The oxtails were the star of the tour! It was perfectly seasoned and tender, and came right off the bone! The goat was really good too. I didn't try the jerk chicken. The snapper was my entree and the only thing that was left on my plate were the bones and the lime garnish! It was soo good! I ate the head and everything else! We fully enjoyed our food and dining experience. I will definitely be back and would definitely recommend RJH for any occasion. They also have a happy hour Monday-Friday 3-7pm.

The vibe was nice. You must make a reservation! This is what I enjoyed: Side of Lamb chops: 10/10 tender, meaty, nice smoky and sweet flavor, well seasoned. Side of Mac and cheese: 6/10 a bit dry, needs a bit more seasoning, if both of these things were not an issue it would be perfect. Oxtails and jollof rice: 10/10 oxtails were full of flavor and enjoyable. They could have been a bit more tender. Overall the flavor carried it to a perfect 10. The rice is seasoned and a bit smokey and cooked to the perfect doneness. Table bread: 9/10 puff puff style bread. They were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Brought out first and provided with every meal. It had a sweet seasoning mix on it. The mix to me was more for after dinner instead of right before the meal. Dusse mimosa: 10/10 nice and stout. I prefer Dusse over Hennessy which is what was on the menu. Jerk chicken: 10/10 flavorful wings. Jerk seasoning was there and not too spicy. Cooked just right and not dry. Collard greens: 6/10 savory flavor. I am a collard greens specialist and I prefer a sweet and hot profile. Although these are just savory they were cooked to the correct tenderness. Candied yams: 10/10 get blend of cinnamon and sweet flavor. Cooked perfectly.

For an appetizer, I started with the oxtail spring roll. I will say it leaned more toward a pot roast flavor because of all the cabbage and carrots inside. It didn't quite taste like oxtail or have much of the Jamaican flavor I was expecting, aside from the little bit of gravy served with it. For our meals, my friend ordered the Poundo Fufu with Egusi Soup and Beef, and I got the Jollof Rice with Stew Beef. The jollof rice was definitely some of the best I've had, really flavorful and the meat was tender and well done. The owner, Will, was very friendly and gave us some great recommendations for other dishes to try next time. If I'm ever back in Dallas, I would definitely stop by again.

I came in for lunch and ordered the jerk chicken lunch special with beans and rice and a side salad. The chicken was incredibly tender--fall-apart, melt-in-your-mouth good--and packed with flavor. Fair warning, it definitely brings the heat! It's on the spicy side, but in the best way possible. Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere adds to the whole experience. There was lively music playing, colorful decor throughout, and a beautiful Jamaican beach mural that makes you feel like you've stepped out of Texas for a minute. And of course, you'll spot Bob Marley on the walls, which just feels right. My server mentioned they've been around for about 15 years, and you can tell--it's a solid, well-loved local spot. Great food, fun vibe, and a place I'll definitely be coming back to.

Their jerk sauce is a little on the spicier side and sweeter than the ones we're used to in CA, but I guess every caribbean spot has their own take on the jerk sauce. I always get the jerk chicken with saffron rice and steamed spinach. Their chicken is super consistent and always juicy, which I appreciate. We bring everyone we know to this spot and they all have a great time. Their drinks are made pretty strong and there are a 2 limit drink per person for some. We definitely recommend this place! Shout out to SASHA! We've known her for 2.5 years because the first time we came here was 2.5 years ago! She is the best waitress and very attentive. We love her!
