We eat here an embarrassing amount of times.... We love it! Food and service is always great. Prices are a little high but with portion sizes and how delicious it is, it's justified. read more

My wife and I stopped in and were seriously impressed. We started with the crab wontons--perfectly crispy, flavorful, and addictive in the dangerous "just one more" way. Then we had the pineapple chicken fried rice, which was outstanding: fresh, well-balanced, and packed with flavor without being greasy or heavy. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the portions were just right. On top of that, the staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which always makes a good meal even better. This place is officially in our rotation. If you like Thai food done right, don't overthink it--just go. read more

Ordered takeout with some friends. We were all very pleased with the quality of the food. The spice levels are well-labeled. A medium was perfect for me, and I usually gor for a 3 on a 5-point scale. I got the seafood green curry and I was impressed with the amount and quality of the seafood. Definitely a great place to remember for good thai food! read more

I ordered the sweet and sour lunch. First off we order online for pick up @ 11:05 am. Once the order was confirmed by email there was a 25 - 50 minute wait. Then there was another email saying the order was ready for pick up from 12:09-12:24. What does that even mean? I didn't want to pick up too soon and half to wait, but I didn't want my food to just be sitting around for 20+ minutes either. You would think we'd be notified WHEN IT WAS READY FOR PICKUP. I called after the second email and she said "oh, yes, your order ready now". What? Now for the food, the portion size was great and there was a surprise eggroll for free. The food, except for the chicken, was really flavorful. The chicken was really bad. It tasted and felt like fake meat. It was very flat and rubbery. My coworker had a shrimp meal and she thought the same about the shrimp. We will not be going back. read more

Had cashew chicken and Thai ice tea. Very good. Would have it again Heading back soon!

I ordered online for pickup, the estimate said 30-45 minutes but I went after about 20 mins and it was already ready. It would be nice to get an SMS text when it's ready. I tried the salad roll appetizers, I liked it! The sauce was good but I would have preferred a thicker peanut sauce myself. I also bought the yellow curry with tofu and brown rice. I hadn't tried this restaurant before so I wasn't sure how spicy the dishes were. I ordered with spice level hot which was fine. Good flavor and not spicy enough to make me sweat. The portion size was fine for me, I had enough leftovers for another meal. They did include plastic utensils but it would be nice if they can include napkins. I ended up eating in the car and spilled some of the curry and didn't have any napkins. It was a decent meal, not the best Thai curry I've had but I'm glad they have many vegetarian options on their menu. It was easy to order and they were courteous when I picked up my order. read more

Great food good service. The soup that came with my meal was wonderfully delicious. I may just order it next time

Been to Thailand multiple times... far north, south , east and west. Live in Htown but up here for a small Vaca. Saw reviews so wanted to try my staple dishes. Thom Kha Gai, Larb, and Green Curry. Was much better than anticipated and would absolutely eat here weekly if I lived up here. Very true to ingredients and techniques. Spice was . If I had to complain (which there's nothing to complain about) would be, for me i tend to prefer more fish sauce. Like to really taste it. Outside of that I was overly excited that I chose to try this place!! Thank you for everything! I'll be by every time I'm in the area read more

Let me preface this by saying that I've ordered from here before, both as takeout and sit in. Today, I placed an order through UberEats while attending my LAST night of studying at TWU and was craving some spicy level 3 Green Curry with extra chicken and brown rice (which is bomb.com AWESOME!). So, I placed my order and am so excited that I will no longer being spending late nights away from my 3 1/2 year old and husband (I am a commuter student as well!), that I placed a note in the note box saying such and that I am walking for the graduation ceremony on Friday. The very beginning of the note was a request for a cup of water which concluded with my excitement for the upcoming ceremony. Not only had they congratulated me on the receipt but inside the bag was a cute little chain purse! How cute! I am blown away by their kind gesture. Thank you!! PS The food is amazing! read more

I got the Cashew chicken lunch and it came with Tom kha and fried spring rolls for $12.24. No complaints, in fact I called my friends to let them know we would be returning together next time. I see complaints about the food that's been ordered through a delivery service from Sweet Basil Thai Bistro and almost all of the complaints are over the fried food! PEOPLE!! "Almost everyone" knows that fried food is trash when delivered from anywhere. Cut this restaurant a break, because they work hard to make great food. read more

Was in Denton and thought I'd find a Thai place to eat. I found this place and was hoping for Pas See Ew, pad Thai or spicy basil fried rice. Well their spicy fried rice had no basil and there wasn't pad see ew on the menu per say, but something described that was similar. So I stuck to the pad Thai lunch special. The soup that came with it was delicious. I hate crab wontons (I don't believe they even use cream cheese in Thailand) so I've always had an aversion to this wonton but I ate it anyways and they did not change my mind. When my pad Thai came out, I saw right away it was more of a brown color instead of an orange color. I let the waitress know that it didn't taste like pad Thai but more of a Lard Na flavor. And the color was off. She didn't seem to care or asked me if I preferred something else. Instead she walked over to the white man at another table and asked him loud enough for me to hear, how his pad Thai was. He said it was good. Well, I'm southeast Asian (half Lao) and grew up in San Diego, I think I know what pad Thai should look and taste like. I was not impressed and will not ever make it a point to go here again when I am in Denton. The lunch special was $10 which I guess is an ok deal. It was good, but definitely not what I would call Pad Thai. read more

Every time I come here it's delicious! My favorites have been the pork pad Thai and the house cashew chicken! I always get spice level 2 and the flavor is amazing!! The service is great too. Popped in on a whim for dinner and was happily surprised. Not a lot of good Thai food places around here so we weren't expecting too much. Ordered the basics, spring rolls, yellow curry with chicken, spicy Thai noodles and fried rice. Everything was delicious! The flavors were spot on and the number 5 spice level brought the heat but it wasn't too extreme. The service and prices matched the food. We will be back! read more

My favorite Thai restaurant in all of DFW. Personal favorites are the House Cashew Chicken, Panang Curry Chicken, Soy Sauce Noodle with Beef. While I generally get pad Thai at Thai restaurants, it's not my favorite at this place. But I love their flavors and they have great service. read more

Shockingly small portions. See how small the entrees are? When asked how everything was I replied I would not be back because of these ridiculous little sizes which of course the server has no control over but really the owner needs to change. I didn't want to eat the rice but ended up doing so otherwise I would be hungry for the rest of the day. The only entree not obscenely small was the chicken salad but really chopped iceberg and chicken so fairly cheap ingredients, am I right? Mine was Tofu in a green curry because I enjoy eggplant but not because of tofu per say but trying to be more health conscious. Not only was the eggplant hard and sliced to resemble mushrooms, the tofu was breaded, ugh! So worst of worlds. I ate it as I disliked the Tom Kya soup which was fish sauce heavy and I passed on the FRIED egg rolls. Then the same server asked if I had room for dessert. read more

Food was good service was so so. The masaman curry, my go to, was very good. Wife had a curry that was good as well.

Update: The portions have gotten purely ridiculous as mentioned in other reviews. Tom khan Bowl was barely half full, and there was maybe seven pieces of chicken in the entree. Flavor still very good but the price to portion ratio is concerning. The service on this trip was also rather disappointing. We were not even asked on spice preference. When waited and waited for the waitress to come back so we could ask for chili she just sat down and never came to help we had to seek her assistance and get up and go ask read more

This is a place I have been meaning to check out for a while. This was a to go order, so this review is on the food only and on one visit. Service normally plays a part in my reviews and ratings, but I can only talk about the taste and the value here. The first thing I noticed when looking at the online menu is that the prices are pretty high in my opinion. This is especially odd to me as there are a lot of Thai places in town. Due to the prices, I decided to stick with trying appetizers to see if I liked it before shelling out $17 for a duck entrée. My overall reaction is: Hey, not bad at all! Which is true, it's not bad at all. I enjoyed trying it out, but at these prices I expected: Wow, delicious! I ordered both the steamed and fried rice ($2 and $2.50 respectively) and both had a good cook and good texture. On the other hand the Heavenly Beef ($6.99) and Shrimp Cakes ($6.95) had great flavor, but some texture issues. When I saw the Lotus Cups for $5.45, I thought this was a rip off. I get and appreciate that they packaged it all separately for the to go order, it wasn't about presentation. There were only 7! Jeez! However, this was the best dish I had. The cups had the perfect crisp and density to hold everything- didn't get soggy and wasn't too hard to eat. The flavor of the sautéed ground chicken and mixed veggies was awesome and this ended up being the winner for me. I thought the corn fit in surprisingly nicely with the rest of the dish and this is the one thing I would order again. The Heavenly Beef is basically beef jerky- deep fried and marinated in their special seasoning with swet and sour sauce. The sauce was pretty good on it's own (since they originally mxied up the sauces in the container and I tried it with the shrimp cakes) and a good accompaniment, it wasn't too sweet or too sour so I was surprised it worked so well. I found it pretty tough and had to chew it a really long time, so that aspect was kind of a let down. The flavor was multi dimensional though and if they tweaked the texture or cook time, I would order this again. The Shrimp Cakes were four fried shrimp patties with plum sauce. The sauce was very fragrant and smelled like plum, but was kind of watery so I didn't get the plum flavor when I dipped it, it was very faint. These were kind of rubbery and chewy though and I'm a big texture person, so I probably wouldn't try these again. The rice portions are the only thing they weren't stingy with, but those are pretty pricey too compared to other places. In the end, I think that is what it is coming down to for me. There's a lot of competition and they are expensive in comparison, I eat at a lot of other Thai places and spend the same for more food. Would I try this place again? Yeah, I thought it was pretty good overall, and maybe worth trying an entrée next time. However, I don't put overpriced places in my regular rotation unless they just blow me away on quality. I will make sure I dine in next time as their service may really influence me. read more

I love Sweet Basil Thai Bistro! I should preface this review by saying I am an extremely picky eater. I am not a fan of veggies and very picky when it comes to my chicken. Anyways we have eaten at the restaurant a few times and each time is a good experience. Clean restaurant. Kind waitresses and waiters. Wonderful music to set the atmosphere. With this social distancing delivery has become the norm. We had a delivery yesterday evening. Everything was packaged well and the food was hot when we unpacked everything. The food was so fabulous and full of flavor. We ordered the Panang Curry medium spicy with fried rice; we ordered that as is with the veggies. My husband said it was very good! I ordered the yellow curry spicy with chicken no veggies and extra potatoes with white rice. The chicken was tender and delicious. The curry was amazing and spicy! I also ordered Spicy Noodles with no veggies and with chicken. Delicious and perfect. We ordered Spring Rolls, Thai Iced Tea, and Coconut Ice Cream. Dinner was really good yesterday evening! Give this place a chance. I am so picky and everything was perfect. They read my notes on each item ordered and delivered everything perfectly to my specifications. Thank you Sweet Thai Basil! read more
