I have passed this restaurant hundreds of times every year but I never stopped there I went to the Thai Fusion restaurant by the mall it was brand new bigger they had Boba etc. etc. anyways my situation with them I ordered pad Thai I'm Thai so I know what pad Thai looks and taste like when it's been sitting for a day or 2 their pad Thai that was given to me at my table was disgusting it was falling apart the noodles then it tasted old I should know I make Pad Thai all the time I don't eat it the next day because it looked and tastes old just like the fusion restaurant in Layton so I had called them and they said oh I'm so sorry about that next time we will make it fresh for you I told them it should be fresh for everyone every time you serve it not only did they proven to be not a good restaurant they didn't even want to replace my old pad Thai with fresh pad Thai anyways I finally went to this restaurant I got the best freshest pad Thai aside from me making my own I recommend them and I only will dine at this restaurant not the other one read more

Hubby and I love thai food. Unfortunately for us... The thai we've had here in Utah is blah. We are definitely missing the authenticity of Arizona restaurant's. We ordered the small sampler. 2 egg rolls, spring roll, 2 wontons and 2 chicken satay. Each had a sauce. We took maybe a bite of each and decided it was not for us. The satay was super dry. The remaining items were unfavorable. We also ordered Chicken Fried Rice and Yellow Curry with beef. The fried rice was mushy. It didn't appear or taste like it had chicken. Hubby found 1 little piece. The Yellow Curry which is usually our favorite was bland and oily. Soooo...oily! The 20 minute wait for take out ended up being more like 40. Bleh. Never again. read more

Really good homemade Thai food! The curries are made from scratch ( according to our waiter) and the service was great! We had the massaman curry and the pad Thai. They were both very flavorful which is something you have to work really hard to find in Utah. We'llbe back to try some more of their delicious food. The BEST things to get here: yellow curry, masamaan, spring rolls, drunken noodles, fried rice and basically ANY soup (although my favorite is the pork). Not everything is amazing. Did not meet my expectations. It wasn't all bad though. I went there with a hankering for some Pad Thai. The waitress didn't ask what level of spice I wanted, and I got no spice. It didn't even taste like pad Thai. It was close, but too sweet to enjoy. The Thai iced coffee was pretty tasty, but like the pad Thai, it was too sweet. Everyone I went with said the curry was where the restaurant shined. So, I went back to try some curry. I ordered the panang, and the waitress didn't ask how spicy I wanted it. Just like the pad Thai, and the iced coffee, and the sample of my wife's yellow curry, the panang was too sweet. Overall, my experience was ok. We even brought some who were completely against eating here and they enjoyed it too. Most of us did the lunch specials and a couple entrees. Everyone left happy on food. They could update the interior and they were slow, only one waitress trying very hard to keep up. I would have given them a 4 star but since Timbo rated them so low I bumped mine up to offset his low review (keep it real Timmer). ***update, came back for dinner. Did the takeout. The wait for our food felt a little long, but we were with a tired toddler so that might be why. The food was pretty good, but not as good as some other Thai places. My husband and I asked for medium spice in our food and mine had been left out completely and was bland. The server brought me some spice and that improved the taste significantly. My husband had a noodle dish and it was mostly noodles with very little meat and vegetables in it. Although he liked it, he was disappointed it didn't have more to it. I believe I ordered 6-7 different entrees the last time I was at Thai Rod Dee, and they were all good.I really enjoyed their papaya salad. I've had papaya salad prepared in various styles and with various additional ingredients, as it should be done, and theirs was really good. This place is worth my time, money, and belly! We just moved to the area and I am looking for a good Thai place, as Thai food is one of my favorites. This place unfortunately will not be my go-to Thai place. I was hesitant to try Thai Rod Dee because of its location and appearance, but we had such a pleasant experience here! Can't remember any of the dishes names but my husband got the chicken appetizer, curried chicken on skewers. He has gone back for take out again and again for those. I got a delicious soup with noodles and vegetables. It surprisingly came with a huge serving of rice on the side. Their yellow curry is yummy too. I'm so happy to have found this place!! There sadly is a downside. It actually is really a big deal if you're not prepared. They are VERY slow. Prepare to spend an hour and a half at the restaurant. We've been there a couple times for at least two hours. Don't plan to be on time to anything if you eat here first. read more

I had the red curry, hot. I love how they slice the peppers. The last time I had curry like that was in New Zealand last year and I remember loving it. The service was super laid back and very nice. Lesson learned. Don't judge a book by its cover, this location has obviously changed owners multiple times and has the feel of a dingy Catina... But the food was on point. We ordered the hot and sour soup which was one of the best I've tried, fair warning, they mean HOT! I would maybe order medium next time but I must say it was the best flavored hot and sour soup I've tasted. We also had the beef noodle soup and that too was yummy with and incredibly rich broth and slightly sweet flavor.
