I sampled the lemongrass soup broth - it kinda reminded me to hot & sour soup. I also sampled the glass noodle soup broth - it was akin to a plain chicken broth. Neither were especially exciting, so I asked the bartender for a recommendation. Pat, the bartender, recommended the Garlic n Pepper dish. Kudos to him for the recommendation. I loved it. The sauce that it comes with is the star of the show. But the crunchy Napa cabbage is a stunner, as well. I think I've found a new favorite dish. This was our first time visiting for dinner. They have limited parking due to their location and the layout of the center. The restaurant has a vibrant decor with intense green accents and faux plants and flowers. We arrived around 5:30 on a Sunday evening and were seated promptly. We then began to wait. After quite awhile one of the hosts came and gave a some water. And then we waited and waited. We were preparing to leave when someone came over and asked for our order. The food came out extremely fast and the presentation and flavor was AMAZING. we enjoyed the papaya salad, drunken noodles, and soft shell crab in a green curry. I tracked down an employee so we could get our checks and to go boxes and he happened to be the manager. He was very kind and explained we that they were short handed that evening. Even though the restaurant was mostly empty it affected their service. It's a nice location and the decor is nice however it could be improved by removing the faux plants for the dividers and ceiling. I would also suggest aligning the music selection to match somewhat of the ambiance that they are trying to create. Our meal would have benefited from a higher more professional level of service to match the interior and price point of the offerings. This would create a more relaxed environment to match the creative cocktail offerings and amazing food your kitchen is putting out. The first time I visited Thai Prime, I moseyed in on a Friday at 6:30 p.m. without a reservation, and was told there was a 90 minute wait. So I didn't get to eat at Thai Prime that day. This time, a reservation was made, and all went well. There were plenty of tables, the service was quick, and the whole experience was great. The moral of the story is: Make a reservation. Thai Prime gets busy. I always feel like a chump when I order pad Thai at a Thai restaurant. I feel like everyone, servers and cooks, are rolling their eyes at me for being such a basic beyotch. Especially because I ordered it mild. But you know what? I felt like eating some pad Thai today, so that's what I ordered. I also got a side of steamed rice, because I like to cut the sweetness of the dish with the bland rice. (And because also, a pound of sweet noodles isn't enough carbs for me, apparently.) The chicken pad Thai was delicious and a huge order -- it comes mounded and steaming on the plate. Yes, it was delicious, but it was a little expensive for pad Thai, and you can get less expensive but equally as good pad Thai elsewhere. What I mean to say is: You should probably order a more original and exciting dish here at Thai Prime. Pad Wun Sen was also ordered, which is silver noodles stir-fried with chicken, egg, cabbage, carrots, tomato, mushrooms and onions. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the noodles were good, but a little thin and didn't stand up to all of the larger chunks of veg. Medium spice is plenty spicy, by the way. I need to ask Thai Prime where they source their water glasses, because I want to get some for myself. They're very pretty. Also, the water they serve here is very tasty and cold and refreshing. After an awesome experience at Thai Villa (sister restaurant in Fishers) we knew that we had to give Thai Prime a try. We had a large party and the whole staff was very accommodating. Co-owner Chariya was our server and made a great impression right off the bat. The place has a large menu and I always appreciate when a server makes suggestions/shares common favorites. Not that it mattered because everything ordered was equally as impressive. All the cocktails were tasty and strong. For only $15 you choose from at least 10 dishes that come with noodle soup, salad with that great ginger dressing, a spring roll, rice and your entree. Thai Prime is a really lovely looking restaurant, I was really impressed at just how nice the space looked. This positive impression was tempered by the fact that there are too many tables placed in the rather small space, which means you're inevitably going to feel too close to the adjacent tables. The second negative impression was that the music was far too loud. I found it very difficult to focus on the conversation with my girlfriend due to how loud the music was, we actually ended up largely eating in silence due to this. Service was a little slow, but we went on a Friday evening, and the restaurant was very full, so I didn't feel it was a real problem. The food was delicious. I ordered drunken noodles with shrimp, and my girlfriend ordered yellow curry with shrimp. Both dishes tasted great, and the portion sizes felt proportional to what we paid. I will say I think this is the least spicy Thai restaurant I've been to, which could be either a positive or a negative depending on your preference. In short I think Thai Prime has the right ingredients to become an excellent date night location, they just need to get rid of a couple tables and turn the music down. If they made those two adjustments I'd happily give them five stars. read more

first off, the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! it's nice to dine in a pretty space. it just elevates the entire experience. for appetizers, we started off with calamari and the thai curry crisps. the calamari was a hit with the table! the thai curry crisps are vegetarian (and possibly vegan but i would ask) and were pretty good but a little bland. the menu stated there were 6 or 8 pcs but the waitress advised that it was only 3 so just fyi. two of us ordered the lychee breeze from the cocktail menu and it was very vodka forward. we were expecting it to be a bit more balanced. another guest ordered an old-fashioned and said it was also quite strong... you at least know they don't skimp on alcohol lol. for my entree, i ordered the yellow curry with tofu at a medium spice level. it was on the sweeter side and the potatoes were under-cooked. i'm not sure that i would order it again but i enjoyed the consistency of the sauce (not too soupy) and definitely want to try some of their other curries. the medium spice level was actually very mild, so if you prefer spicy, i would order hot. my friend ordered the thom kha at the medium spice level. i had a bite and it was delicious!! i would definitely order that myself and would recommend it. another friend ordered the crispy red snapper with the mango salad sauce - it looked amazing !!! the presentation was just gorgeous and he loved it. unfortunately, he stated the fish itself was devoid of any seasoning and the only flavor came from the mango sauce which was on the side. my boyfriend ordered the seafood madness at a mild spice level. it was sweeter than he expected but enjoyed it. he would order it again but would prefer a higher spice level. the employees were friendly and helpful. the environment was beautiful and comfortable. the food was okay and the drinks were too strong. hopefully there will be some improvement as they get the hang of things. we still had a good time, though. read more

This place was pretty good! The decor inside was very nice. A mix of hip and elegant. There is also outdoor seating as well and cool shaped booths inside. Our server was nice and attentive. She was knowledgeable about menu items and checked on us throughout. The food I will say was nothing super spectacular. The presentation of it all was very nice but the flavor just fell flat for a few dishes for what the price point is. I got the tom ka gai and chose to add shrimp which is an extra $3. Other places around Indy shrimp is an option that is included when ordering the soup. I got medium spicy which wasn't very spicy to me and the soup was very onion heavy. Our cocktails were all poured with a very strong hand. In my lychee cocktail the first sip about knocked me out of the booth. So if you like strong pours- these are for you. I like a balance so they weren't necessarily down my alley. Overall I recommend if you want an ambient Thai restaurant to visit on the north side and maybe if you order a different dish than what we got you will enjoy. Just enjoyed a delicious meal during the soft opening. The Thai Prime Pork Ribs were to die for! But let me back up ... The first thing you should know is that Thai Prime is run by 4 Thai women, so this place is 100% legit. They're seasoned restaurateurs, and it was evident on Day 1 here at Thai Prime. I came with a family member, and we didn't wait for more than a few minutes for a seat, though I was impressed to see a good-sized crowd out on a Monday night to try this place. The building itself is gorgeous, inside and out. I *love*what they've done with the interior, including lots of greenery and a prominent bar area that gives the place a very upscale vibe. The service was a bit slow, and I could tell they were working out some kinks, but that's the entire purpose of a soft opening, and everyone on staff was super nice and attentive. They checked in on us regularly, but not so often that it was annoying. The food was *absolutely* worth the wait. We ordered the crispy spring rolls and chicken satay for appetizers. Those are staple items at any good Thai place, and they're on point here. Taste, texture, and temperature were just right. Then case the main dishes. Pad Thai was solid (of course), but it was the Thai Prime Pork Ribs that sold me on the entire experience. The meat itself was juicy and falling off the bone. The sauce was rich, and it was served with white rice that was perfect to soak it all up. I would not hesitate to come back, as I didn't get to try the dessert menu. Really wanted to enjoy Thai Prime. It was on our list for sometime to try and we were very disappointed. The atmosphere was great and inviting. It was pretty much all downhill from there. We were seated and it took probably 10 minutes to get a menu and that was only because we had to go to the front and ask for it. Our waiter would disappear for huge amounts of time and he was outside and answering phones at the front. He did not listen to our order correctly, nor did he write it down. We ordered appetizers for my main dish. I ordered two more appetizers.l for my "meal". My "meal" appetizers were the first to come out which we then sent back. We ordered pineapple fried rice, which was very expensive at $24 but we figured why not. It arrived at the table and the waiter spilled it over We lost a bunch of shrimp that was on top of it. We asked them to replace the shrimp which arrived about 15 minutes later and the shrimp came out barely cooked and unseasoned. The food was mediocre best For the amount they charged. I recently had dinner at Thai Prime and was really looking forward to it. I love Thai cuisine and had heard great things from early reviews. I called a few days ahead to make a reservation, but was told they don't take reservations on weekends and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. When we arrived on Saturday evening, we were asked if we had a reservation, which caught me off guard. That said, they were able to accommodate us and quickly seated us at a table for two, which we appreciated. The restaurant has a classy, well-lit interior -- bright enough to comfortably read the menu without needing your phone flashlight (which is always a plus). It was a busy night and they appeared a bit short-staffed. Our greeter was also our server -- and possibly the owner -- and she was incredibly kind and attentive. She immediately noticed we didn't have water and took care of that right away. We started with crab rangoons and spring rolls, along with a Sapporo draft for me and a ginger beer for my wife. There was a bit of a delay with both drinks and appetizers, but our server acknowledged it and made sure the drinks were brought out while we waited. The appetizers arrived lukewarm, but they were still very tasty. Because our table was on the smaller side, we decided not to order our entrées at the same time as the appetizers -- and in hindsight, we should have. There was another wait after we finished the apps before we were able to place our entrée order, and then about 20 more minutes before the food arrived. My advice: order everything up front! That said, once the entrées hit the table, they were absolutely fantastic -- piping hot and packed with flavor. I followed other reviewers' advice and bumped up the spice level. We both ordered "Thai hot," which ended up being more of a medium compared to other Thai restaurants I've visited, but still very enjoyable. When the check arrived, our server was very apologetic about the wait, which we genuinely appreciated. It's clear they're working through some growing pains, which is understandable for a newer restaurant. Once they fine-tune their front- and back-of-house processes, I think this place will really thrive. I had dinner here with a friend around 6pm on a Wednesday night and they were already pretty busy! I wasn't sure if a reservation was needed but was glad we had one. They use Toast as their reservation platform if you want to make a reservation online instead of calling. Our table was ready and waiting for us with a fancy reserved sign. The atmosphere is lovely with a fern motif on the glasses and plates with artificial ferns tastefully cascading from the ceiling and walls. The menu is extensive and I went with a Massaman curry with chicken to start with a classic on a first visit. It was delicious. The flavors were nicely balanced and I even ate some of the extra sauce with the serving spoon to not waste it. I ordered it at a medium spice level and there was no heat, which was fine as the flavor was excellent. I never know if places adjust spice level to "Indiana spicy" so tend to err on the too mild side on a first visit. Probably safe to move up the scale if you do want some heat. I had a Siam Sunset cocktail which was something along the lines of a pineapple margarita. It was a good match with the curry which also had pineapple. Service was good and food came out surprisingly fast. Parking in the underground garage is easy and free. Happy to have this new spot in the area! read more

I love Thai food, and I was so excited to try this new Thai place in Carmel since it looked so beautiful in pictures. I love the garden, flowery decorations, and it really makes you feel like you're in a beautiful jungle or garden oasis. Lots of greenery and modern designs. Since we've never been here before, we decided to try the classics to see how everything tasted. It took a little longer than most Thai places to get our food, but it did not disappoint. We started with the fried chicken appetizer, which we normally don't order at a Thai place. I liked the crispy texture and sweet and sour chili sauce with a touch of spicy mayo, but I probably wouldn't order it again since it wasn't anything special and kind of expensive for 8 wings. We tried the spicy basil fried rice, pad Thai, and seafood madness, and it was all delicious. It was the best seafood madness and probably basil fried rice I've had. We ordered everything in a medium spice, and we all wished it was spicer since it tasted more like mild. I do wish the fried rice and pad Thai were less sweet as well. The seafood madness had a wonderful garlic basil sauce, but it was a bit salty. Overall, huge portions for reasonable prices and a wonderful ambiance. There's limited three hour parking spots right in front of the restaurant, but there's a free underground garage that has easy access to the restaurant. Enjoyed a lovely lunch with friends this past Friday. The restaurant is beautiful-- incredible decor. The lunch menu is expansive so there's something for everyone including vegetarians like me. This was my very first time trying Thai food and I genuinely could not have picked a better place for my first experience. From the moment we walked in, everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The atmosphere was so nice and relaxing, and the restaurant felt clean, cozy, and comfortable. Our waiter was absolutely amazing and made the whole experience even better. He was so patient while explaining different menu items and helping me decide what to order since I had never had Thai food before. He was very sweet, checked on us often, and made sure everything was perfect the entire time. I ordered the pineapple fried rice, Thai tea, and crab rangoons, and I honestly loved every single thing. The pineapple fried rice was incredible and packed with flavor. It had the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and everything tasted so fresh and perfectly cooked. You could tell so much care and effort went into making it. The crab rangoons were probably some of the best I've ever had. They were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and tasted amazing with every bite. The Thai tea was also so delicious and refreshing, and now I completely understand why everyone talks about it so much. Huge compliments to the chefs because the food was genuinely outstanding. Everything came out looking beautiful and tasting even better. You can really tell the chefs are talented and passionate about what they do because every dish felt carefully made and full of flavor. It is rare to go somewhere for the first time and enjoy absolutely everything, but that was definitely the case here. What made the experience even more special was how kind and welcoming the staff were. Sometimes trying a new type of food for the first time can feel a little intimidating, but everyone here made me feel comfortable and excited to try something new. The customer service was honestly top tier and made the whole visit memorable. I will definitely be coming back and bringing friends and family with me next time because this place completely exceeded my expectations. I came to Thai prime with a group of girls to celebrate my birthday on a sunny Monday afternoon. The service was exceptional! Despite it being prime lunch hour, and a packed house, our server was attentive without being annoying. The vibe was cheerful and refreshing. Not to be a weirdo, but more than once I found myself admiring the tile work at the entrance and around the bar, and also the complementary tile up the side of the bar surround! It reminded me of water and mermaid scales, and it just felt so peaceful! The food was exemplary! My medium spice on the cashew chicken was perfect. My friends got various curries, and they were all warm and creamy and comforting. The little birthday dessert treat that was served complementary was such a nice caring touch! I will definitely look forward to coming again very soon. Sidenote, the lunch special for $15 is mind blowing! Tons and tons of food.!! read more

Saturday reservation 6:30pm: Pretty interior, yellow curry was awesome, shrimp tempura awesome, dumplings were underdone/hard. Great cocktails but had to ask twice for second cocktail...took 20 minutes. 3 guests/3 dinners, all came out about 10 minutes apart. Will try it again after they've worked out the new restaurant kinks. read more
