I cannot over state how incredible this place is! I have NEVER been unhappy with my food and I have eaten here countless times. I'm currently waiting for my pick up order, on Mother's Day, they're super busy but they are hustling! It was quite a wait but worth it. And obviously it's this busy because the food is delicious! Normally food is ready in ~20 minutes but on a day like today it makes sense it would be a longer wait. Our favorite Thai place in South OC. Don is always so friendly and welcoming. We try to support local family businesses and appreciate his service to the community and when he greets you it's like you're part of the family. In regards to the menu... All the dishes we've tried over the years have been great. If you prefer take out they're super fast and always fresh. Can't believe I finally ordered something different. Usually it's curry or the fried rice which is delicious. Today it was the #63, Pad Prik King. A delicious combination of green beans, protein and a sort of spicy pad prik sauce. Ample portion that could easily be shared with two people, Although I personally thought I could use a little more chicken. The side of white rice was also Aunt Pauline portion and delicious. Had a really bad craving for Thai food, and didn't want to leave work and this place was on the DoorDash app. Let me tell you something about this place, AMAZING AND DELICIOUS!! Bang for the buck if I must say. Great food and the quality of it, so freaking yummy. Asked for hot chili oil on the side, it was spicy but a good spicy. The numbness of the hot chili oil into my pad Thai. BOMB!! And their curry, I'm allergic to coconut but I took two Benadryl just to eat their chicken curry. The risk I had to take to eat this. It was less than $30 since I got the lunch special chicken curry (comes with a side salad, a piece of fried wonton and rice), chicken pad Thai and their mango with sweet rice for dessert. I ordered this place two times in a row. My co-workers thought I was crazy but when food is this good, you just want more and more. Definitely coming back and maybe dine in one day. read more

Mongkhut Thai is better. I got a lunch special and it was good tasting but had a lot of grease/oil, not enough veg or meat. I know it's the lunch special but I don't need rice with my noodle dish- More than 3oz of meat would have been nice though. Also, this is a general announcement to all cooks and restaurants- you don't need that much oil to make dishes taste good. Especially if you're using anything but olive coconut or avocado oil - super unhealthy. Stop overusing oil, please. read more

I did notice on pickup it came to $61 and it should have been around $57 according to my math, but without itemized receipt, hard to tell how they got there. Either way, food was good and I'd order again. Thai green curry with chicken (not pictured) was bomb. Will order again. Chicken was a little dry but def still tasty and worth it. I love their Crying Tiger beef and the owners are so sweet. It's take out only but they do have a seating area open on their patio.

We stopped in today for a quick bite. The service was quite good. The food came out fast and they came over to check on our table a good amount of times. For those vegans and vegetarians out there, know that they were able to substitute Tofu for the shrimp or chicken in the dishes, and they don't use the fish or shrimp sauce. I like my food very flavorful and this was it. They also give a lot of chicken and it's nice and tender not dry! The noodles were sticky and with a nice gummy texture. No dryness what so ever. I'm originally from OC area so we p spoiled out here with our food selection. So I was shocked that this place was so good. I also tried their Tom yum which was also delicious but the pad Thai stole the show. It definitely looks like a authentic Thai family owned business. Had to hunt for server ( it was the lunch rush and there were three tables. ) Smoke filled from incense it reminded me of a bad Korean massage parlor. Delish Thai food. This is really a takeout spot. They have a couple of tables that never get used. Love the Yellow Curry, Pad See Ew and Par Thai. We just went and had the beef and chicken satay (raised the price one again) and the quality of meat was completely unacceptable. 6 months ago the beef was tender and juicy. Now it was like cardboard and I'm actually angry that they think they can serve this. Yes, they saved money, but lost a customer. We loved this Thai place but they keep raising there prices so we have decided to stop going. They white out on the menu and it just feels like they are getting greedy.
