This is a hidden gem! I was at the farmers market and wanted to grab lunch before heading home. Thai This is within walking distance from the Dana Point Farmers Market. I ordered the Thai iced tea and green Thai iced tea. They're both on the sweeter side. However, the spice level is "Thai spicy" (iykyk), so the tea is a wonderful compliment to the food. For appetizer, I ordered the calamari and the summer rolls. I also got the Yum Yai salad. It was so refreshing and delicious! I recommend this salad!! For entrees, the Pad Talay (my personal favorite) and the chef special: seafood noodle. Dessert: mango sticky rice. You have to make room for the mango sticky rice! I loved the vibe here. This is probably a top 5 Asian restaurant in the Dana Point area. The staff are friendly and hospitable. Very good service. The seating is great, both high and low tables. First time trying this restaurant. I always try my favorite Thai curry dish at every Thai restaurant, just to get a baseline. The salmon red curry dish at Thai this did not disappoint. Recently traveled to Dana Point from Orange to have dinner at my favorite Thai restaurant, Thai This. I had the crispy duck which was so good, it came with vegetables and steam rice. We also enjoyed the tasty desserts that are homemade by Pom the owner. We will be back again to try other tasty dishes. Highly recommend this family run establishment. read more

SO GOOD! I've passed this place so many times and we finally went today- it's smaller inside and cute. The people working there are so kind! We brought my 1 year old and they fawned over him- they gave him a capped water cup with a straw and even gave us little baby wipes after to clean him up. We shared the chicken satay- I was the only one that really liked it, my husband & dad weren't a fan of the seasoning but I liked the turmeric (maybe cinnamon?) flavor. I got the eggplant chicken- phenomenal. So hot and fresh, and packed with flavor and fresh veggies. I finished the whole thing, even the rice, and it was a very large portion but the food didn't feel overly heavy or greasy. Dad got the green curry and loved it, and my husband got the drunken noodles which I tried and those were also fantastic! For all you South County Superstars, we're getting familiar with the lesser-known, but equally delicious spots in the area. Anyways, onto the food. We got quite a few dishes, so hold on to your seats. First off, we got some fried triangles...no really! These guys were great. Filled with shrimp, fish, avocado, and fried to perfection. Yummy, delicious, texture all over. Mmm. Coconut soup next? Yeah, let's get it. Tom Kha, which is sour, creamy, and smooth! Ushy gushy, in a good way! After, we got the main event! Drunken noodles and yellow curry. Wowzers. Don't forget to order this spicy if you want it. We picked a three out of five for spiciness, and it was actually a good medium. Go harder if you want, but this was a great start for us. I was in Dana Point and wanted to try some Thai food and I came to the right place :) I ordered the nutty noodle (sub chicken w tofu) and it was delicious. The peanut sauce tasted like savory peanut butter (I'm obsessed) and the tempura veggies were yummy as well! They forgot to leave the sweet peppers out of the curry, apologized and quickly got a new dish out. The woman who served us was so nice and friendly, big bonus points running after us to give me my credit card! I personally love very spicy foods and they will bring out several spices to add to your dish to kick up the flavor. I ordered from this Thai place online for the first time. I love Thai food and I usually eat spicy, but this was on another level. The amount of chili pepper they put in my dish was beyond what anyone could reasonably eat--it was overwhelming and inedible. I called the restaurant to explain the issue. At first, the person understood me, then suddenly claimed she couldn't understand English. On top of that, their prices are very high for the quality and experience. This was my first and last time ordering from here. Restaurants need to understand that not everyone can tolerate extreme spice--some people have stomach or health issues. It's been around for a while, but my server, Guy, mentioned they recently got new owners who have really elevated the place. Guy himself was outstanding warm, friendly, and attentive and he made the dining experience even better. The food was exceptional. I ordered the garlic beef special with added salmon, and it was phenomenal. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the sauce had the perfect balance of spice and flavor. From what I saw coming out of the kitchen, all of the chef's specials looked incredible I'd confidently recommend trying any of them.
