Fresh Mango with Sweet Sticky Rice
Desiree A.

This is a hidden gem! I was at the farmers market and wanted to grab lunch before heading home. Thai This is within walking distance from the Dana Point Farmers Market. I ordered the Thai iced tea and green Thai iced tea. They're both on the sweeter side. However, the spice level is "Thai spicy" (iykyk), so the tea is a wonderful compliment to the food. For appetizer, I ordered the calamari and the summer rolls. I also got the Yum Yai salad. It was so refreshing and delicious! I recommend this salad!! For entrees, the Pad Talay (my personal favorite) and the chef special: seafood noodle. Dessert: mango sticky rice. You have to make room for the mango sticky rice! I loved the vibe here. I feel like this place should get more love. - It's a family owned business. - The food is delicious. - The restaurant is clean and quiet. -The service is impeccable. I highly recommend you check it out.

This is probably a top 5 Asian restaurant in the Dana Point area. The staff are friendly and hospitable. Very good service. The seating is great, both high and low tables. They even have a wine bar, pretty cool. Their Famous Yellow curry is a must try. It's my go-to dish. Honestly everything here is pretty amazing. 10/10 recommend!!!

We really enjoyed this place. Getting here a bit after 5 on a Sunday was perfect because shortly after it filled up quickly. The chef was very accommodating for making our dish vegan. Padd see ew was delicious with tofu and the Thai summer rolls were light and fresh. Very nice servers and service was quick. Nice Thai music in background. Clean place.

First time trying this restaurant. I always try my favorite Thai curry dish at every Thai restaurant, just to get a baseline. The salmon red curry dish at Thai this did not disappoint. The salmon was cooked well and the veggies were still crunchy and the curry was perfect. Also tried their special dish- crispy duck. Well prepared. Appetizer were the Triangles, these were good too. Thank you for the experience!

Recently traveled to Dana Point from Orange to have dinner at my favorite Thai restaurant, Thai This. I had the crispy duck which was so good, it came with vegetables and steam rice. We also enjoyed the tasty desserts that are homemade by Pom the owner. We will be back again to try other tasty dishes. Highly recommend this family run establishment.

SO GOOD! I've passed this place so many times and we finally went today- it's smaller inside and cute. The people working there are so kind! We brought my 1 year old and they fawned over him- they gave him a capped water cup with a straw and even gave us little baby wipes after to clean him up. We shared the chicken satay- I was the only one that really liked it, my husband & dad weren't a fan of the seasoning but I liked the turmeric (maybe cinnamon?) flavor. I got the eggplant chicken- phenomenal. So hot and fresh, and packed with flavor and fresh veggies. I finished the whole thing, even the rice, and it was a very large portion but the food didn't feel overly heavy or greasy. Dad got the green curry and loved it, and my husband got the drunken noodles which I tried and those were also fantastic! Got a side of fried rice for the baby and that was a very large portion and also very good. Id highly recommend coming! We will definitely be back!

We keep coming back to Thai This because it's just THAT good!! The food is consistently delicious, super fresh, and full of flavor. Service is always great and it has such a cozy, local feel. If you're in Dana Point, you have to try it! YOU WILL BE HOOKED!! We loved the chicken satay, basil beef & garlic shrimp! However, the fried rice is AMAZING!! 10/10!

Seafood salad

I highly recommend Grill Pork Jowl was delicious love seafood salad I ordered spicy wow it is spicy but was good with glass of wine Service outstanding

drunken noodle seafood noodle

they were really nice and welcoming. they called me pretty. Also the food was really good and flavorful. it's a small place and isn't overwhelming. I would recommend the seafood noodles, avocado shrimp wrapped in rice paper and pad thai. And they also have us free ice cream and sang us happy birthday! it's not our birthday but really nice! the icecream was really good it was the mango one and it has coconut. i don't usually like coconut but it was really great and refreshing would be really good on a hot day!!

Top quality Thai with great service and fresh, always delicious dishes! You can't miss with Eggplant chicken, Drunken Noodle, and Yellow Potato Curry! Generous portions and generous staff makes this the Best Thai In OC!

This was such a lovely surprise find for me! I was in Dana Point and wanted to try some Thai food and I came to the right place :) I ordered the nutty noodle (sub chicken w tofu) and it was delicious. The peanut sauce tasted like savory peanut butter (I'm obsessed) and the tempura veggies were yummy as well! My favorite part was the service, along with the great food, as the staff were so friendly and hilarious. I had a really good time eating here! The restaurant is pretty small and intimate but a hidden gem!

Crispy duck

Thai This in Dana Point is my new go-to for authentic Thai comfort food in a super cozy, welcoming vibe! Started with the Papaya Salad--crisp sliced raw green papaya tossed with tomato, green beans, carrot, and peanuts in that fiery som-tum sauce, served with cabbage for scooping. The heat was perfect, tangy and addictive! For mains, the Grilled Pork Jowl stole the show: marinated pork grilled to juicy perfection, paired with fresh lettuce and a zesty spicy lime sauce that cuts through the richness. Then, the Crispy Duck--marinated and deep-fried to golden crispiness, drizzled in a bold red spicy wine sauce with veggies on the side. And don't skip the Famous Yellow Curry: tender sliced beef and potatoes swimming in a mild, coconutty yellow curry sauce that's pure flavor heaven. Wrapped it up with their Homemade Coconut Ice Cream--creamy, refreshing, and the ideal sweet finish. Everything tasted fresh and authentically Thai. Service was attentive and on point. Highly recommended

However, I was pleasantly surprised by having two options safe to eat! The tofu lettuce wraps were amazing, though I'd probably pass on the Naked Buddha roll the next time. Pricing for the entrées were pretty fair! The drink menu was a bit outlandish though with pricing. I do really wish they would denote on the menu what is gluten free or GFO for peace of mind. I'm ultimately super grateful to have been able to go out with my business partner & friends. I'd love to revisit the spot again.

I try to make it once a year; I had to skip a year because I was a bit late trying to secure reservations last year. I've nothing but good things to report about this dining experience, it is indeed special. I came here with my wife for her birthday this year, accompanied by our two young sons. The setting is outside as well as a mini kitchen and bar. A cool breeze was blowing off the ocean and the ad airplanes were passing over trying to sell stuff to the throngs of beach goers below. It was peaceful and a bit romantic. There is an unspoken ( For the Most Part) camaraderie amongst the patrons, we all know this is a treat not often offered. My suggestions are few but perhaps helpful: Get a first sitting reservation. It's easier and you get a lot of attention from the wonderful waitstaff prior to them getting really busy. Be a party of at least four people, you will be able to sample many more dishes that way. Bring a light jacket just in case the ocean breeze becomes chilly. The cushions on the bench seats are really comfortable, a great feature. The food, as I have implied, is delicious. Some variations on traditional Thai, but all were exquisite. Here is what we tried: Watermelon Temptation, a thirst quenching, not too sweet delight. Pretty too. Thai Iced Tea, a wonderful version Virgin Ma ka Ri ta, a superb creation Lobster Satay Toast, excellent. Crispy Pork/ Moo Tod Kluk Fhun, amazing, this one we had to order a second. Papaya Salad/ Som Tam Thai, great spices, fresh greens. Thai Dumplings, we are not typically fans of dumplings but these were awesome. Tom Kha Hed, most likely the best I've ever had. Be sure to order this no matter what. Yellow Chicken Curry/ Gaeng Ka-Ti, oh this is so good... Pad Thai Shrimp, wow, I loved this dish. Spicy Beef Pad Ka-Prow, this was a real winner, the short ribs are cooked perfectly. Thai Tea Popsicle, very nice. Coconut Ice Cream, perfectly tempered artisan treat. Mango Sticky Rice, I loved the ample mango slices that had been soaking in a very flavorful light syrup of some sort. Fried Bananas w/ Sesame Ice Cream , flavor infusion! Birthday Surprice, a white chocolate covered cake, applause all around. We attended the last weekend before the chef returns to his restaurant in Mexico. I am looking forward to being here next year!
