This restaurant is over priced for the quality. Seems more of a place that focuses on drinks than food. Menu is limited. The baby romaine salad was decent but not worth $15. The wings were overcooked and chewy. The poke was delicious with a vibrant fresh flavor. The basil mussels with the lemon coconut and lime had a bright refreshing savory broth. Restaurant was busy and staff were very attentive and welcoming. Parking is hard to find but there is street parking on the side. The restaurant was lively and had a good fun atmosphere

Plenty of parking. One can never go wrong eating at MRK. Great menu something for everyone, everything is fresh and made to order. Most days they offer some form of a off the menu specail items. Tonight they had pastrami which has great flavor. Also order there vegan chili fries which were great.

Always great! Everything is awesome but our faves are the Thai salad with beef, short rib sandwich and steak frites.

Great find in San Clemente. The service was exceptional. The restaurant smelled so good that we chose to eat inside, although there was plenty of outside seating. We both had the banh mi (mine with tofu) which were delicious! The brussel sprouts with hoisen and bonito were different and yummy. The fries were just the right crispiness.

We love MRK! The best local spot with the most delicious, unique food. You have to have the chili fries

Thai Salad, Bahn Mi and Brussels Sprouts - all were fantastic!

Was visiting for a travel ball tournament and this place came in clutch for late evening takeout! We ordered the Thai Salad with Beef, the Brussels Sprouts and the Banh Mi with Chicken - everything was amazing!

A cute little spot in San Clemente, this place embodies everything I imagine in a beach city gem…read more The Nachos are hefty in both portions and flavor. Everything worked well together, and omg that Cheese pull. What this place IS, IS because of the details. The setup, the décor, the AMAZING workers and how cheery and helpful they were... the cucumber/lemon water, the samples of yogurt while you wait, and the hot sauce options, all make for an enjoyable experience. Good food can be found anywhere, but when you pair that with an atmosphere that is both soothing, welcoming, and charming... you've got a home run. Oh speaking of details? WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE MUSIC? I don't know if it's like this everyday but the oldies playing ties everything together. Summers here have got to be magical that hit on beach city nostalgia. They've got alcohol. What? So you know we had to try what they had on draft. This Active Culture location is pretty popular too, because as I write this. People are pouring in, and door dashers are picking up. Winner. Winner. Fresh ingredient dinner.

Dining tables inside, but most sit in the small outdoor patio tucked neatly into the front corner of this cafe; ideal for sunny days and people-watching. For this visit, I opted for a beverage (no food). Oh, and I did fro-yo tastings too. THE DRINK. - Orange Creamsicle Shake. Sweet, creamy, and citrusy with a subtle tang that nailed the nostalgic creamsicle flavor. Highly recommend! THE PARKING. Street parking was available nearby, but we had to pay attention to the posted time limits because it seemed a little complicated (to me, at least). THE VERDICT. Loved the orange creamsicle shake, but I also spotted a date shake on the menu, which only means another visit is needed!

Ordered were a Pepperoni pizza and the Margherita pizza. Margherita is always too bland for me no matter where I have it. I have to go for pepperoni always on my pizza, and it was tasty. I would've added mushrooms, but it wasn't my turn. Nice crust, flavorful, very thin Woodfired pizza. Just a note-share and eat it there. Too floppy for leftovers. My preference. Tagliatelle Bolognese was upscale flavor with the right spice and totally 100% agreed with my taste buds. I am a fan of thinner pasta, but this is how it's done at Parlor. Funny, it was extremely long strands of pasta so have your knife ready. Unlike the pizza, it made great leftovers, and I thought it tasted even better the next day. So I don't recommend sharing it. Ha! Make reservations, find parking or take the trolley when it's running.

The Boulder and I rolled in on a suspiciously perfect Monday afternoon--clear skies, good vibes,…read moreand my dog in tow (a true critic.. of me). My tall Sequoia of a date did the classic awkward shuffle at the front like, "hi, can the dog come through to the patio without causing a federal incident?" The guy we asked looked like we had just asked him to solve climate change (bc he was a customer...), but he very politely redirected us to the cashier, who was lovely. So: Kindness: 10/10. Confusion: also 10/10. ~Balance~ Now the food. The Boulder orders a fish burrito. I go for the chimichurri salmon bowl with quinoa because I, too, enjoy pretending I have my life together. BUT. The boulder also then orders clam chowder--a surprise, a moment of elation, but at the same time... skeptical? Sir? I have lamented over my favorite chowder like a woman waiting for her husband to come back from battle. Were your ears too high in elevation for my voice to reach? ANYWAYS. Let's talk about the clam chowder, because this is where things get serious. I have grown up eating clam chowder in Santa Cruz (my hometown, my birthplace, my origins). I have known greatness (shoutout to Stagnaro Bros., the downstairs fish market). So when I tell you I approached this chowder with standards, I need you to understand the weight of that statement. I put my spoon in. It did not sink. At that moment, I knew. This was not soup. This was a lifestyle. A structural entity. And it was GOOD. Creamy, thick, unapologetically clam-forward. Not quite Santa Cruz enlightenment, clouds-parting-angels-singing, but honestly? Strong contender. We're talking solid top 4-5 chowders of my life, and I do not say that lightly. Now, my salmon bowl? Good. Respectable. Salmon = crispy, quinoa = doing quinoa things (why is it always slightly annoying to eat??). Chimichurri good. The fish burrito (from my observational research + dog validation panel): packed, flaky, generous. My dog approved, which frankly is the highest honor available. Overall: Great food, great vibes, excellent chowder, and quality time with the Tall Sequoia Boulder Man™ on a random Monday. Plus points--chips looked fried on site :D

They were nice and fresh-served with a little butter mixture, and of course, lemon and Tabasco on the side for preference. The oysters were a little small, but they were a good try anyway. We also started with a basket of sourdough slices which came out toasted and hot. Next was the Boeuf Bourguignon was just delicious! They definitely slow cooked the beef as advertised. And also a Mediterraneenne omelette w/some added Gruyère-the egg alone was probably the best fluffy omelette I've ever had! Everything was cooked with delicacy and care in the quality of the ingredients. You definitely get the quality of food that the prices call for.
