Food was just ok. The marinara was very oily as can be seen in the photo. Also the pasta wasn't drained well and watered down the sauce once I stirred everything up. Portion size was good, we got carry out, with tax, lunch was about $20. Meatballs were good but a little tough. The garlic bread is to die for. Will try this again but was let down this first visit. More like a to-go cafe, they do have a few tables inside but it doesn't feel very warm or inviting. Assuming they do mostly Catering. Parking lot was fine with plenty of options around lunchtime. UPDATE: I've been a local customer since it was just a tiny TO GO place next to 7-11. Food quality and taste have slowly declined over the last few years, and wait time is still an issue. Maybe it's the North SC location, since I haven't tried the OG one in such a long time! Tonight's dinner was 2/5: soupy sauce, pasta tender, bland taste. Like the bread though. Think Guicho needs to get his hands back in the cooking phase and UPDATE sauces, etc. Guess I'll try the OG location for the last time? read more

Came here to order lasagna and a meatball sub but ended up getting ravioli and a meatball sub. They didn't have lasagna that day. Honestly didn't care for the food much. The ravioli sauce was extra watery and just didn't taste all that great to me. I was bored of the meatball sub after a few bites. The only thing I really liked was the garlic bread. I wish the piece I got wasn't so tiny though, I could probably eat an entire loaf of it. As another reviewer has mentioned, they need better containers for their food, especially since the place is geared more for takeout. Yum!! This is my 2nd time here, 1st time at this location. Ive tried the other location and both times I've gotten the jumbo mushroom ravioli. It is absolutely delicious, super strong in mushroom flavor, but obviously! It's creamy and filling. The meatball at this location, wasn't as soft as the other. Their bread is good as usual. We also got the fusili with pesto, it was good in the beginning but it did get watered down near the end. Service is very good and nice, they are fairly quick too! read more

The fusilli special and the filet are still top notch! Had to lower a star as we tried a few other dishes that were okay but not great: The spaghetti has gotten a little more bland and it's sad when you order two dishes and only receive one piece of garlic bread. The regular fusilli is completely different than the special. While the special is packed with five star flavor, the regular is watery and not good. Advice: get the fusilli special! read more

Love guichos! The food is great. Been a loyal customer for many years. However, the service over the phone and in person isn't pleasant. The people working seem to have a very passive aggressive demeanor to customers and it honestly makes the experience not enjoyable. You can come here and eat, but most people just order in and pick up. Our spot is the North San Clemente one. The staff is always friendly and quick to please, and while it takes usually 25-35 minutes to get your order, the food is always worth it. Consistently tasty and generous portions. I'll second that comment from another yelper about the staff looking like they're from a dance squad-it's like San Clemente High works here. Our favorites here are the pasta dishes, the vegetarian eggplant sandwich which also has spinach and zucchini, and the tiramisu. Always on point and tasty-only complaint is that there is sometimes a whole lotta pasta for the amount of protein/sauce they add, so they could adjust those proportions just a bit. read more

I ordered the Tagliatelle at the Guichos Camino de Estrella. It was not the best. it was really salty and the Salmon seemed more like it was Lox. I expected better. I was only able to eat a bit about 4 bites of the Pasta but even then it was still salty because of the salmon or whatever it was. read more

Found this place by accident. The outside indicates small take out place but the inside is very large and stainless steal looking. Over the top friendly staff, they seem like all friend of a high school dance squad, all really nice. I walked and ordered and while waiting, I noticed people coming in to pick up their phone orders.... All men, so am thinking this food has got to be great Italian and no lie, the food was exceptional! I ordered a Caesar salad, and jumbo ravioli, it comes with bread. The bread was perfect. The ravioli had a mushroom sauce, super tasty, the pasta was aldente so no mushiness from sitting. Your order is made to order. Special mention to the choice of to go napkins, luxurious and very nice for to go food! I will definitely be back and highly recommend this food, it's fabuloso! Salute! read more

When I placed my order on the phone they said it would be 20 minutes I got there right on time and they said it will be a few more minutes they took my credit card and I paid for it, I ended up waiting another 35 minutes and my food was cold. Meaning it was sitting some where in the back. They hire kids to work there who are rude, not friendly, not helpful. The next day I called to complain and the supposed manager I spoke to just laughed at me. Not to mention it went up in price and the portions are smaller. Not worth it. read more

Love this place. However picked up an order 2 weeks ago and one of the dishes leaked EVERYWHERE. All over the other dishes, our kitchen, seat of the car. Accidents happen. All good. Called up and Guicho's immediately offered refund for the meal. Appreciated them proactively coming up with a solution before even finished explaining what happened. They asked me to text photos to the owner which promptly did. Heard nothing. Called back a few days later. The woman who answered was appropriately horrified. She took our info and said the other owner would definitely address it. Heard nothing from the other owner either. Called again late last week and same woman super duper promised the owner would contact me and process the refund they proactively offered to 3 times. Still nothing. At this stage stuck having to leave a lukewarm review and initiate a charge dispute on my credit card. A crappy approach that really prefer not to do. But out of other options at this point. So here we are. The food here really is delicious and had looked forward to enjoying it. Would love to again in the future. read more

Tried to get a delicious lunch but was rudely confronted when walking in. It was about the time that they were gonna open and there was an open door that I walked through. The staff said they didn't open for two minutes and I felt immediately uncomfortable. It was rude and unwelcoming. I was confused at seeing four people stand around and being shunned out the door. I decided to go somewhere else to eat. It's unfortunate because they really have good food. But that level of customer service is low end. read more

This is a casual Italian joint that serves pasta and has a full bar. They probably have more on the menu, but every time I come I always order the Farfalle. The photo of the Farfalle is attached in this review. The dish contains sundried tomatoes, chicken, bow tie shaped pasta, fresh oregano, green onions, garlic, and chicken stock. The main star of this dish is the amount of chicken they put in. There was chicken in every bite and the chicken stock makes it feel as if you're eating chicken soup, but in an Italian way. The service is great here. We get complimentary bread. The food is fresh since they take about 15-20 minutes to make my dish after ordering. I recommend coming here if you are looking for delicious Italian eats without the wine snobs! read more

Great service and fresh delicious food for a great price! I came here for lunch and I got the Mediterranean salad with chicken and it was so good! The garlic bread that came with it was so delicious too! The prices are pretty good for what you get and the portion was good sized! There are only a few tables inside to eat at with a few outside but I think this is more of an order to-go type of place. Had the best meal and service today. Stopped in for a snack as it was right before they closed for their break between lunch and dinner. They were totally ok letting me order 10 minutes before they closed. Shaded a sausage sandwhich with my mom, plus two generous pours of wine. The complimentary garlic bread was a nice touch too. Pregnant woman beware!!! Yesterday, my pregnant sister and I went to Guicho's Eatery (next to Sprouts in South Orange County) for dinner. We shared the Shrimp Alfredo and Meatball Marinara. Unfortunately, a few hours later, we both became very sick -- which was especially scary with my sister being pregnant. I called the restaurant today to let them know, hoping they might at least check the food or kitchen. The girl who answered was polite but just said their kitchen is "super clean" and that it must have been something else we ate. There was no offer to look into it further or even refund the meal. I know these things happen sometimes, but it left us feeling a little dismissed -- especially since pregnant women have to be extra careful with foodborne illness. For those who don't know, the Orange County Health Care Agency does take reports of suspected foodborne illness so they can keep other families safe. read more

Family favorite. We love this place. Food is so consistently delicious. The chopped salad has been a family favorite forever. The shrimp salad is also a favorite of mine, Lemon dressing is delicious as well as their sun dried tomatoes in that. Try the Meatball sub, the seafood linguini, fettuccini with shrimp, sausage fusilli. Anything with the delicious marinara sauce... Basically, the entire menu is great. Food pretty good here overall. Definitely more geared for takeout orders, not a whole lot of seating. Sometimes their estimate on how long the food will take is off by a lot which can be frustrating for having food too cold or waiting a long time in store even if you called in the order previously and they told you hold long it would take. Don't blame them, lots of teenagers working here. Service is pretty good otherwise. read more

We ate here because it was a zoo trying to find parking at Salt Creek Beach on a weekend holiday, even though I have a pass. Beach Hut has free parking but only if you do not use it as a way to go to the beach, it's for customers only, and they have a guard watching the parking lot. Beach Hut also had patio tables available yesterday. The tables are shaped like surfboards and the food is served on parchment - on colorful plastic Frisbees - which is very cute! Hopefully they won't be taken home by customers. I asked my son to take a photo of me with Evan to show how handsome he is. He is a super nice guy as well which doesn't always happen if someone is super good looking like Evan. He is even more gorgeous in person than in this photo. But whoever is in the kitchen is doing a fine job! They remembered all our special requests. Ladies, by the way, Evan is MARRIED! Evan and I worked together at Trader Joe's for a short time. We went on to bigger and better things, such as Self Employment with our own businesses. Yelp could not load my photo even though I tried multiple ways and sizes. Many people are having this problem unfortunately.

Short ribs were tender but lukewarm, the cream pasta served with it had some sort of onion or other unidentifiable vegetable which was undercooked and left a horrible after taste. Another pasta ordered came with clams and the waitress had to make a point there were clams in it since I discerned they were not listed on the menu as an ingredient. 2 unopened clams were served on the plate. The salad which was served as a main was oversized. Over priced. If the place had a little bit of atmosphere and better service it might be worth it.
