This was a top 3 pizza spot for us. We ordered a large pizza (15 inches) half bee sting, half hwy 1. We were full after and had around 3 slices leftover! We definetly could've gone with the lunch special which was 11 inches and a side salad. We chose to do the large so we could do the half half pizza. The half bee sting was so delicious. Cozy restaurant with good service. Did not have to wait long and everyone is super friendly. The restaurant is not big but the food is very good. The calamari is tender and flavorful. We got the extra Marinara Sauce and it's great. The normal spicy mayo sauce is very good too but I loved the variety. The pizza is pretty big and is very tasty. However I like my crust a little bit more crispy so next time I'll ask them to cook it slightly longer. The toppings are generous and overall very good value for what you get. Yum! This is the first time that we actually ate our pizza in the restaurant. It's cute. It's also extremely busy and popular. We suggest going on off hours or just waiting. We got lucky we came at a non-popular time. However, as we are enjoying our pizza and our wine, it became very clear at the dinner hour there are people lined up outside. I must say the waitress was very kind. She never rushed us out. She was very patient with us as we enjoyed our last slice and last drop of wine. This is a good addition for Dana Point. We were sat immediately on a Saturday Afternoon, our server was so friendly and conversational, the outdoor seating is comfortable and you get some ocean breeze. The pizza though wow, we were able to do half and half of 2 kinds (as long as they have the same sauce!) which is amazing since every option of flavor combinations is mouthwatering. The crust was perfect, the structure, the sauce and ingredients were all top tier. I've been thinking about it ever since!! We can't wait to return. Not overly garlic on the taste - which makes it more enjoyable. I would go without the salami next time. Zucchini chips: unlike any preparation I have had. Very thinly sliced zucchini fried in canola and olive oil. It almost melts in your hands. This place is a well oiled machine. Plenty of TVs. Outdoor seating. They only take reservations for large parties so it is walk up. The parking lot is an absolute nightmare so drive carefully or plan a rideshare! The food at Apozza Doho is fresh and tasty. I adore their Caesar salad, which has more of that vinaigrette Caesar dressing rather than that thick creamy style. They have good drink options and their service is as quick as it can be for a made to order pizza business. They do not offer gluten-free crust options so don't come here expecting a pizza if you have an allergy! And they do a lot of takeout and delivery business so feel free to order from home. The restaurant is noisy idoors and outdoors, has some TVs with sports on, has a casual, energetic vibe, and is great for families and more fun date nights alike. I loved how they packed the Burrata separately for to-go orders. The flavor was amazing and we really enjoyed it and would get it again, although we want to try other pizzas. We also got the Zucchini Chips - such incredible flavors but the only bad thing is that when you get it in to to-go boxes, they become soft and not crunchy. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. We are talking about driving up from San Diego just to have this pizza again. We had the southwest swell pizza and ordered it with "1000 steps." Amazing. As someone who knows what actual New Haven pizza should be (think Sally's Apizza), Apizza Doho misses the mark completely. The dough was nothing like the authentic thin-crust style; instead, it was thick, burnt, and strangely covered in butter. The Margherita sauce was essentially tomato sauce and lacked balance. The Clam Pizza was the biggest disappointment--it was buried under so much cheese and garlic that you couldn't even taste the clams. It was so greasy that oil was running down our hands, tasting more like a heavy, cheesy garlic bread with overpowering chunks of raw garlic than a refined white clam pie. To round it out, the zucchini chips were flavorless and mostly just fried breading. The only silver lining was the calamari, the cherry peppers were a nice touch and it genuinely reminded me of Rhode Island-style calamari. That said, I definitely won't be back for the pizza and do not recommend this place if you're looking for New Haven style pizza read more

This has gotta be one of the best pizza spots I've tried. It's located on PCH, so thankfully there's a large parking lot on top of the restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We did the lunch box deal which was an 11" apizza with a choice of simple or caesar salad. The caesar was great and it's a big portion that could be a meal itself. Tried the arancini too which was good, but the standouts were obviously the pizzas. We tried the vampire and bee sting pizzas, with the bee sting being my favorite.
