With no ranch the sauces we got on the side were the chipotle and marinara were not good. But the chimichuri was very good. And I want to try the blue cheese next time. I also really liked the jalapenos I added. Their pizza was wayyyy better than the fake hype at Truly--facts! I came here last month with family and friends to celebrate my nephews girlfriend. She graduated college and chose this place to celebrate. There was about 15 of us in attendance and being my mom is 81 years old and I have a disability we were unable to sit at the high top tables that were arranged for our luncheon. Mind you we got there early a 12pm lunch on a Saturday. There were only three other tables being used. We asked to sit at a regular table (just my mom & I). I explained the situation and the "manager" did not want to accommodate us. We tried to get on the high chairs and couldn't. We were either going to stand or need to leave. The manager could care less. The graduates mom stepped in and tried to reason and was treated so rudely by this manager. Eventually the bartender or busboy accommodated us and we sat at a small side table. Not before the manager told the graduates mom that because of that she would be taking a high top table away because we took a side table. Omg. It was so embarrassing to see this unfold. Coming from a family of restaurant owners this should have never happened. Just for the mere fact that the ADA could easily be brought in to this due to the lack of accommodations for a person with disabilities. I can't even start about the food. The quality is pretty poor. Nothing tasted fresh. It was mediocre at best. The best items were the salads. Oh and when asked for bread or some sort of bread service. We were denied and told we do not have bread for sale. An Italian restaurant and no bread. I chuckled at first thinking the waiter was trying to be funny. He just walked away. We never were checked on and left to get up and refill my own water and get my own fork. I understand that the owners are out of state but they really need to retrain their staff and check in on their food quality as well as accommodations for those with disabilities. Came here on a Sunday around 1pm because the other pizza place we wanted to try was busy. Found this place on yelp and upon our arrival, the restaurant was empty. The host made us wait until our entire party was here to be seated. Our server was friendly and informative. He recommended some items for us. We ordered two pizzas, a Caesar salad and two wings to share. I enjoyed both pizzas. We had one white and one red pie. They were both thin crusts and flavorful. My Smokey passion was just okay. We've been to Homeslice several times now, and it never disappoints. The crust is perfect--soft, chewy, and never burnt - it's my favorite pizza in South Orange County. Honestly, you just can't go wrong with their pizzas! We've tried a bit of everything: the Pepperoni, Maximus, and Western pizzas, the Spinach & Artichoke and Pepperoni calzones, their salads, and the side of garlic roasted artichokes. My girlfriend and I went at 5 o'clock ordered two large glasses of wine and two food orders, at 6:30. The manager comes over to our table and says if you are going to have any more wine, you need to leave your table and go to the bar. My girlfriend was speechless. I answered the manager and told him no we are not moving to the bar and that it was very rude of him to suggest that he kept insisting that we already have been sitting at the table for one hour and a half, and there are other people waiting to sit and we need to leave the table. This is a restaurant that I keep passing in Dana Point and wanting to try...finally tonight. I got my chance! I love that this restaurant is easy to get to, and that there's plenty of parking in the parking structure right across the street. I also love the positioning of this restaurant. It's located on Del Prado in one of the new buildings down the middle of the street. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, which is so nice because you can bring your dog with you! Another great feature of this restaurant is that all the walls are garage doors that pull up to let in a nice ocean breeze. We happened to get there early enough to get seated right away but if you come later and you have to wait, they have an adorable outdoor seating area that surrounds a fire pit to keep you warm while you wait. My friend and I had just finished a big hike and were starving so we started with Brick Oven Artichokes, and the Polpette. My cocktail of choice was: Cool Out Homey which was very refreshing and delicious! My friend started with the Pina Brava which she thought was "ok". One thing that I thought was really nice was that the owner of the restaurant brought out our appetizers and introduced himself. I do love that when restaurant owners are involved and engage with their clientele...it definitely brings that neighborhood feeling to your dining experience!! Next up we switched gears to what we came for.... Pizza!! We chose the Diavolo but added basil... it was delicious! For us ordering one pizza to split worked out well, but if you can eat a lot or you haven't had appetizers, it might not be enough food. I will say that absolutely everything that the people around us ordered and every dish that walked past us look delicious! I feel like it's a good restaurant if you have a large group so you can order a lot of different things to share. We finished up with a second round of cocktails and mixed it up a bit... I had the Eternally Grapefruit, and my friend switched to Juiced This Once... both were delicious! Had dinner here this past weekend with my family. It was our first time in. We were sat just after 6pm. We had no wait for a table. Everyone from the staff to the food was wonderful! Our waiter was available when we needed water refills which my daughter needed a lot of plus any other requests. The food was flavorful! The pizza is thin crust and cooked to perfection. Was in town for couple of days and stumbled on this place late Tuesday night. It was four of us including two kids 9, 13. Trevor (I think) was our waiter and he was great! He explained the menu well and made some great suggestions. Calamari and the meatball appetizers were a must! My kids are picky eaters but they loved their meals too, pizza and Mac & Cheese. Wife had the Lasagna which she loved. I had the Ahi Tuna, wasn't my favorite but to Travis' credit he said it wasn't his favorite either but I still ordered it. This restaurant took me by surprise. I've always driven past it, but I've never stopped in to see what it's about. Instantly, as we walk up, we were greeted by some friendly hosts who sat us immediately. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. I ordered an appetizer and we enjoyed a pepperoni pizza for dinner. Everything was absolutely delicious, one of my favorite pizzas in Orange County. Went to Homeslice last night for the 1st time for their Happy Hour. Fernando the bartender and our waiter was terrific. The drinks 4 of us were beautiful pours and delicious. We tried some of the Apps on the HH menu and a pizza on their regular menu. The wings everyone's favorite plump, crispy & juicy. The food overall was excellent with fresh and tasty ingredients. If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. Although the food was great and delicious and the service from the hostess and the busboy was good, the waiter would not check on our drink refills and we had to keep asking for more water and soft drinks, though he was still kind at times. On the other hand, the manager Samantha who claims she is the only manager in charge said there is no way to contact the owner and was very rude from the moment we arrived. I had made a reservation 3 weeks in advance and spoke to a very nice girl who I wish I had gotten the name of. Today, on 5/9/26 two of our guests also arrived early with us. We had an elderly citizen, grandma, who couldn't get up on the high top chair, which they had arranged only high tables and high top chairs for our party. The chairs were also small and unsafe for an elderly person. We also had a guest who has a medical condition and cannot sit on high top chairs as her feet need to be touching the ground. When I made the reservation, they didn't ask if we needed any accommodations and they didn't mention we would be seated at high top tables and chairs. I had never been there my self so was not aware of that. Our two guests with the medical condition and elderly had said they could sit at a small table that was next to our area even though they wouldn't be seated directly at our tables. The manager Samantha was very rude saying we were taking up all of their space and that they had already set up an area for us, but that was not accommodating to our guests. Samantha had a very rude tone and constantly belittling our needs and reservation. She was also complaining that we had a baby, which I had called about 1.5 weeks before and they said it would not be an issue. Once she realized they had not set up enough seats for our entire party and it was not accommodating to all guests, she decided to just give us the small table. Originally, they had told me that they could take as big as a 25 person party, but she was very rude and we only had 16 people. I get that she stated she did not know, but as a past GM I never treated my customers with such a nasty tone or telling them they are taking up the whole space. I also think that she should have called me to confirm the reservation and ask if we needed any accommodations since she is the one in charge as she had stated. We did not ask for free food we paid and we had a big group. We will never be back because of the horrible treatment we were given. We were celebrating my daughter's college graduation and just wanted to have a positive and exciting lunch with our family and friends. I contacted the restaurant once I got home and she gave me such a nasty attitude once again, over the phone and kept cutting me off throughout the whole conversation. If you are thinking about going there for a big party, think twice before celebrating there. read more

Wow!!! The food here is delicious!!! We had the pizza with pineapples on top and it was amazing! The gnocchi had a perfect kick to it with a savory sauce. The calamari was crispy and perfect! What a treat for dinner!! Many other menu items we Al wanted to try but didn't have room for more food... We aren't too far from Orange County and would love to come back to enjoy other menu items! The staff checked in on us often, drinks were topped off and food delivered hot and fresh. The patio dining area is open and airy with heaters outside for chili Days/nights. The bar area surrounded with tv monitors focused on baseball, basketball and hockey games. Additionally pub tables and chairs surrounding the bar offering warmer spaces and tv access. I went here for lunch with a friend on a Friday. The place was pretty much empty at 12:30. By 1:30 about half of the tables were filled. Went here for the gluten free options. Had the calamari, Caesar salad without the breadcrumbs and a gluten free pizza. The calamari was the best thing. It was actually really good. The Caesar salad must have been a bagged salad and about 30-40% of it was brown. The gluten free pizza tasted good but was soft on the bottom and crispy around the edges. We sent the pizza back to make it crunchier on the bottom and that didn't work. I was hoping that this was a great find for a yummy gluten free pizza (which is very hard to find) but unfortunately I'll have to stick with a few of my other favorites vs going back to Home slice. Okay, so let's start with the service and location, both of which are great. Prime real estate, and staff is attentive and friendly. What drops the rating down a few notches is the food. For the type of place this is trying to be (a little more upscale pizzeria), the staff/chefs really need to sit down and try their own food. The 'Roots' salad has fresh ingredients, but they needed something to bring all of the flavors together. Possibly a better dressing rather than just olive oil. Also, for $13 (albeit I understand it's the lunch portion), a normal size salad would have been justified, but this was like 4-5 bites. I get it, rent it high, and they need profits. The 'Maximus' pizza has the flavor, and I do enjoy a thin pizza, but the undercarriage is lacking a nice charred crisp. Not to mention for $22, you can go to aPizza Doho and get a larger pizza for the price. Other than that, I would suggest looking into better bar chairs, not these plastic 'looks nice, feels flimsy' type of furniture. Overall, Homeslice has the potential to be a great pizzeria, just needs a few tweaks. read more

This has been on our list to try but I can't say we would return. They were empty at 4:15pm on Monday, which was a holiday so we were able to walk right in. They are much smaller than we expected. They have only high tables inside and regular tables outside. Given that we had two toddlers we were limited and had to take the outside tables. Thankfully they at least had a heater but the wind was chilly. No high chairs available which is unfortunate and surprising. The salad with blood orange and fennel sounded better than it was. The dressing was nonexistent and it was missing balance. No acidity, no pepper, and probably no salt. Kind of tasted just like wet leaves placed on a plate with some hazelnuts and blood orange slices thrown on top. We ordered two pizzas - the margarita and the garden. The Margarita was the clear winner but it was quite soggy. The dough was chewy and had a nice rise to it. The gardener was weird with the butternut and onion and white pie. I would have expected more heirloom tomatoes than it had. But this was the odd part - they must of emptied their entire pepper bottle on the pizza - it was overpowered by pepper. They should have saved the pepper for their salad than pour it all over the pizza. You couldn't eat a slice without pepper in your face and taste buds. N had ordered a side of the gnocchimis. He asked the server about them and she couldn't even tell us much about them. She didn't know if they were airfried or fried in oil. Still, we thought we would try them and asked for them to be added as a side. I wouldn't call them crispy but rather quite dry. First time here, checking out this local eatery. The pineapple pizza crust was amazing very chewy and yummy. Taste was rather bland. Definitely needs more of a pineapple flavor or cilantro layered on top. Flavors were flat. Grilled artichokes were also flat basically esteemed artichoke with some burnt edges. The aïoli is too vinegary. Nothing to write home about. Would love to come back and try more on the menu, but they need to update game a little on complexity and presentation. read more

We had the Maximus & Plato pizzas. The pizzas were pretty good, I especially enjoyed the Maximus. Sometimes pizzas with multiple types of meats tend to be too salty, but the balance in this one was just right. If anything the Plato (the one with arugula & prosciutto) was a bit too salty for my taste. I saw a couple of other pictures on here where the crust:topping ratio was ridiculously mismatched, but it seems they have fixed their issue. $22 for an individual pizza and not even a very big one is egregious even in this day & age. Fortunately they were not bad, however. The atmosphere is pretty casual and nice, but it's mostly outdoor seating. Would be nice to have ice cold water but water was approaching room temperature. There's going to be a group of them sitting at the bar all talking to each other. They're going to give you dirty looks for being there. The broccolini is described as charred, it was not and was a little undercooked. The salad was a good mix of fresh and yummy burrata. Would definitely recommend this place. However I had my head turned watching my 6 month old son and when the server placed a hot cast iron Mac and cheese in front of me she did not mention anything about it being straight out of the oven. Unfortunately I burnt my arm on the side of cast iron pan when turning back to my plate.
