I'll definitely go back again! Had a beautiful birthday night hearing a jazz trio and drinking the best and carefully crafted mocktails and cocktails. The environment is intimate and gives you ability to interact with the band and all be a part of an experience, which reminds me more of a place I might find in Paris or London. Sweet bartenders and Andrea who greeted us and showed us to our seat and was wonderful too! My friend and I greatly appreciated the attention to detail in the beautiful decorating that created a relaxing and plush ambiance. Comfy bar stools too. They do have a "nosh bowl" if you need a little snack, but I didn't try it. We had already read the rules, so we expected to come nicely dressed and planned not to use our cell. But if you do need to, they just request that you go into the hallway or restroom, so as not to bother anyone else's experience. read more

Woah what a cool, hidden gem! My friend and I came on a Thursday for their live music/ soft jazz night and finding and entering the place is a whole experience. We loved the hostess who made the whole thing feel so lucrative and she even took some photos of us in the waiting room before we had to put our phones away for inside. We had made reservations ahead of time but they placed us at the bar which was a bummer because there were definitely still tables available. Inside is cool with eccentric decor. The overall vibe though tailored an older crowd and not so much people in their 20's. There were a lot of drink options but not a lot of of that sweet and fun that I prefer. It's more sophisticated cocktails. Some staff reminded me to not have my phone out when I was clearly taking a picture of the receipt for my friend and I and that was upsetting. Know that there are rules (e.g., no cell phone use, no parties greater than 4, and more), and a dress code. Beginning with the very speakeasy manner in which one enters, to the eclectic-yet-classy interior decor, luxurious furnishings and dimly lit, intimate atmosphere which gives an exclusive/secretive feel, conducive to enjoying cocktails and quiet conversation -- and entertainment (when available). The talented and knowledgeable bartenders/mixologists create a wide variety of lovely cocktails; I like that the menu is divided by spirits. This is our favorite speakeasy in the area! I loved my experience at Roost 374. It was super fun trying to look for the entrance and when you get there I love how the host interacts with us and makes it a fun experience. The ambiance is classy, sophisticated, dark but I also know they change their themes so it can be different every night. We're so sad we missed the band performance because it's usually before 10pm so come early to enjoy the performance! I ordered the monkey business and although it wasn't my favorite cocktail I've had it was so well made and the ingredients went so well together. I tried my friend's cocktails and they were a little sweeter. I would definitely come again. It's a great intimate space to talk to others or come with friends. The rule is no phones. read more

We have been twice to this Speakeasy and look forward to going again! The first time we went was after having dinner at the Flights and Iron for our anniversary. The Speakeasy was a suggestion made by my daughter-in-law and we were not disappointed! We had a wonderful relaxing time with our after dinner drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. The server was very personable explaining the premise about the place and the different benefits of joining their club. The second time we went, we took our cousins who were visiting from Arizona. They really enjoyed the place and were inspired to do something similar back at their home. This time we ordered the absinthe cocktail where it's prepped through the antinque dispenser. So cool! Down the street there are bars full of drunken half dressed 20-somethings you could probably take home and I hear they serve cheep wells on Thursdays. Nah, the bartenders here take a bit of time like it's something important to make your cocktail, they add a bunch of crap they call aromatics and they have this strange obsession with the oil from an orange peel...not your kinda place. Really it's just not a good fit for people out to party, cut loose and show the world how well they can do keg stands and if you took shots of what they have to offer you'd probably see your dead relatives. I hear they have naughty jazz and even magicians sometimes that want to interact with their guests...weird right?! Yeah, not your kinda place. You can't slip the lady at the door a $20 to get away with dressing beach bum casual and they don't even have half naked cocktail waitresses! Okay, if you've read this far, this is my favorite place in Orange County to get the best cocktails anywhere in a comfortable atmosphere that requires you to dress better, act better, because it is better. Been searching for a cool speak easy and ever since roost 374 opened up I been meaning to go. Finally made it on a sat night. It's way in the back. Go around the restaurant and follow the signs. I love how this place isn't too dark. Cool decor. Would have Photos but no pics allowed. Staff was super friendly . Drinks. Milk punch pina colada was amazing. I don't do rum but after trying this drink I was hooked. So balanced. Easy to drink. Whiskey sour was done right. Not too sweet just right. Big enough for big groups. Lots of bar seating. Banning sandles on women does not make your joint classy. Our party was denied entry bc both girls were in sandals. These weren't flip-flops. They were wearing leather designer open toed shoes. Great place to start or end an evening out. They do a good job creating a true speakeasy vibe. A place where you can focus on your company (and the drinks) without being assaulted by the sound or presence of people you do not know around you. The bartenders take their drink making seriously. Well crafted drinks with interesting flavors that are not overbearing. Highly recommend the Rum Colada (don't recall the actual name). Had / tried a few drinks here. Not a bad one in the bunch. Great new spot. Many drinks to pick from on the menu. Ambiance was nice. Casual dress is required, no beach wear. It will be interesting to see how long that policy will last in a beach community. There was no line when we went but was told some nights there can be. Must try spot. read more

This place is all about the experience from the moment you switch the light at the front door. I tried the Goldie cocktail and it was fabulous! **PSA my sister ordered a dirty martini with blue cheese olives and they charge $3 extra for the olives, she said they were mediocre so keep that in mind when ordering a $20 martini. read more

I have taken far too long to write this review. Andrea deserved my 5 stars the night I left her speak easy and not 3 weeks later. Like the other reviews have mentioned-I will give little details and save the "new" experience for the reader. It all begins with the search locating the entrance but if you need help just ask the restaurant next store and they will guide you in the right direction. Before we even entered the building the experience started. BEST welcome by far and we have been to many speak easys! The decor and ambience are spot on!! She did not miss a thing! Every detail was well thought out and I loved it! Even the bathroom!!! I appreciate that she does not offer food - this is a place to drink, a true speak easy experience. There is a no phone policy, again adding to the experience. The drinks....kudos to the mixologists. They are great at thier craft and can produce some fantastic drinks! They introduced me to the Porn Star and I loved it! If you like champagne then you will love this. Everyone was dressed in character! Loved that!! They do have a simple dress code which you will find on the website and I hope it never changes. Lastly to the young girl that helped us (and everyone else) that night. Just lovely! She was super cute and very attentive-she only came to our table when she noticed we were in need of something giving us our time alone but making sure we were taken care of. Andrea came over and introduced herself and I appreciated that. She gave us a little history about herself, the speakeasy, her restaurant and the little gift store all located within this little plaza. Enjoy your visit! This restaurant served me the worst cocktail I've ever had in my life. It had gochujang in it which I'm pretty sure is some kind of Asian food ingredient and somehow they managed to make my drink taste like a bowl of pad thai. I took one sip and genuinely thought I was about to be served a side of chopsticks. I don't know who thought this was a good idea but they need to be stopped immediately. Sad to say but drove over 90 minutes to return here again to be turned away over classy $100 polo shorts while man to our left wore baggy jeans with his belly showing. I get the no hats and no flip flops but every time we go a new rule gets added. Now no shorts. Turning a repeat guest away over again classy polo shorts (think golf) during SoCal summer seems a bit off cuff. The owner was beyond rude in delivery. Told us to go to TJ Maxx across the street. I would have rather spent the money at this establishment but never again. Mine you last two visits he wore shorts. So it's not about a classy look, it's about maintaining this archaic idea. New speakeasy that really blew us away. The ambiance is so nice, with themed artwork and cozy furniture. The staff also wear uniforms that reflect those that would be working at a true speakeasy, which is a nice touch. I really loved the no phone policy! It adds to the immersion of the speakeasy, no technology ruining the moment; nobody taking obnoxious photos/videos with their light on, no instagram or tik tok audio interrupting the moment around them, it's just everyone enjoying the moment with a cocktail in hand. The drinks were great, excellently crafted by skilled bartenders. I was really impressed by the courtesy and welcoming attitude by the staff here. We had great conversations and it was apparent how happy they were to be there. Lastly, be aware of the rules. 90 minutes per group and the dress code is no big deal. These are posted on their website, social media, and just before entering. We loved this place and cannot wait to go back. Turned away for wearing Rainbow sandals. I was otherwise dressed nice after a dinner out at Fig 313. The other couple in our party wanted to come here for a nightcap so I had no idea I was violating some weird dress code. The hostess was pretty rude about it. As we were waiting out front for an Uber we saw some older ladies exiting wearing tennis shoes and super causal clothes. Maybe this place is nice inside. Maybe they have great cocktails. Like a bar, except with a password that you don't know, rules, time limits, a no cell phone rule (that's not super convenient for parents or people who would love to take a picture together since they're dressed up and in a fancy place), jazz music & the inability to socialize with other guests outside your party when crowded. It's like if your elementary school teacher who was way into prohibition took you on a field trip to a prohibition themed fair and made you participate and gave you demerits if you didn't live up to every part of her weird obsession.
