San Clemente: Lovely and lively, The Parlor replaced Brick restaurant and a nice replacement it is. Fabulous service from start to finish. Very attentive without being intrusive. Ordered were a Pepperoni pizza and the Margherita pizza. Margherita is always too bland for me no matter where I have it. I have to go for pepperoni always on my pizza, and it was tasty. I would've added mushrooms, but it wasn't my turn. Nice crust, flavorful, very thin Woodfired pizza. Just a note-share and eat it there. Too floppy for leftovers. My preference. Tagliatelle Bolognese was upscale flavor with the right spice and totally 100% agreed with my taste buds. I am a fan of thinner pasta, but this is how it's done at Parlor. Funny, it was extremely long strands of pasta so have your knife ready. Unlike the pizza, it made great leftovers, and I thought it tasted even better the next day. So I don't recommend sharing it. The food was great as was the service. They are super attentive. We made a reservation, highly recommended, and we were sat down right as I checked in. Almost like the table was waiting for us. We sat down, ordered and the food came pretty quick. I had the Caesar salad with shrimp and we also ordered a cheese pizza. My husband had the roasted chicken and my son had the Tagliatelle Bolognese. All dishes were great. The chicken comes with potatoes and roasted cauliflower which was so yummy. I especially liked all the Parmesan cheese on the Caesar. My daughter didn't care for it too much as she didn't like the anchovies. I really do need an intervention. We come here just about every Sunday and that reason is because of the prime rib. We generally share Caesar salad to start and then share the prime rib because quite honestly it's a lot of food and neither one of us could actually eat the entire meal. Caesar salad, always delicious. Crisp fresh lettuce topped with a mountain of Parmesan. Love the crispy capers. Again, prime rib, delicious very well seasoned. Comes with the I believe, garlic mash, and roasted vegetables. I wouldn't mind if they mixed up the vegetables every now and then with seasonality, etc. because I'm kind of bored of cauliflower and carrots to be honest I almost wish there was a baked potato option not that I don't love your mashed potatoes because I do. Service is always fast and friendly and efficient. There is street parking plus some city municipal lots. I didn't really care for the chicken parmesan that much, but that's not a dish I would normally choose to order for myself anyway (too heavy, and I don't like that the chicken doesn't stay crispy) so that's just a personal thing. The food was so good! I loved the Ceasar salad and bread appetizers. I got the burrata pizza and my boyfriend got the prime rib. He loved his, and mine was pretty good! There was a family sitting next to us and boxing us in basically, which wasn't great, but what was really upsetting is how rude they were. Not the restaurant's fault but it was tough watching them make the staff feel uncomfortable. Overall, a great spot to go for a nice meal, as long as you're not stuck in a corner with that family. read more

I recently tried Parlor for the first time. I learned they are owned by the same people as The Vine (across the street), Bloom, and several other restaurants in nearby cities. The aesthetic is nice, they have a good bar and great indoor space, feels cozy. I love the fact you can watch the pizzas being made! Sadly though, I was not a big fan of the pizza. It seemed like somehow the pizza dough wasn't very crispy, but the crust was still burnt. Maybe I'm too particular? Service was great and I loved the fact they offer mocktails. I'd love to see the addition of N.A. Spirits or Wine! Lastly, the speakeasy is really what stole the show. I won't give too many details, but I highly recommend asking the host to show you the speakeasy! It's worth it. read more

After doing some investigating, it is not pesto after all lol It is a pistachio pesto though! I wasn't too far off actually lol Such a nice combination. It was smooth and light. The ingredients were super fresh! The sweet basil sprouts gave it an earthy feel. I think the garlic confit complimented the dish and helped bring it all together rather nicely. This is a nice switch up that is a bit more elevated, but not stuffy. Still casual enough for some tvs above the bar to watch the game, but some moody lighting, and intimate seating makes it a solid spot for date night. When I saw wood fired I assumed it would be light fluffy pies. Nope, this is honestly very new yorky pizza. Thin, with solid crisp, next to no flop! Bbq chicken was superb. Tangy bbq sauce with big chunks of smoked chicken. A bit of spunk from the cilantro. The grilled sourdough is superb. Salted butter with light, airy sourdough with wonderful char. Service was 10/10 as well. Lively new place a couple blocks from Del Mar. no issue with downtown parking, which is impossible. Park on either Serra or Cabrillo, which have 3 hr. lots. It's a fun place, great music (but not too loud). It was a little crowded the last time we went, so sat at the bar. A super friendly waitress took care of us (sorry I didn't get her name!) She visited with us, while serving us yummy martinis. We got a pizza to share and it was perfect: crisp, thin crust with beautifully melted cheese and pepperoni that was perfect, not too spicy. It is a medium size restaurant with a decent amount of indoor seating, ample bar seating and very little outdoor seating. The evening lighting is perfect and Colton and the vibe is cool with energy. We went for a Saturday night dinner and sat at the bar. The gluten-free pizza is very thin crust but excellent. We also had a half rotisserie chicken, which was amazing! We had wine and beer, but they have an extensive cocktail menu. The gentleman sitting next to us at the park cause there once a week and has chicken Parmesan With Bolognese and raves about it. The Front Desk people and the servers were polite and efficient. The food was good. The pricing is on the high-average for the area with a two entrée meal and two drinks coming in just around $120. Discovered a great new restaurant in San Clemente. The decor is super cute bohemian slash modern. Friendly staff greeted us as we walked toward the back of the restaurant to our table. Wine list is very good. The place was very lively around 7pm when we left. I ordered the pasta bolognese which was a 3/5. Flavor was good a bit spicy but the pasta was tough. Chicken wing appetizer was yummy but the serving though 12 pieces is small. They are lollipop chicken wings fyi. Next time I'd order the pizza as it looked very good. read more

My mom and I had been looking at trying out Parlor for a while and we finally made the trip tonight! I am a pescatarian with a gluten allergy so finding places that I can eat at can be challenging at times but we called ahead to make sure that they had options for me, which they told us they did! I was excited to hear they offer both gluten free pasta and pizza. My mom got the Spicy Tina which we both thought was good, pretty sweet with a kick. I got the Gluten Free Vegetarian Fettuccine which was good. I wish there were more vegetables in it but I still liked it. Then of course we had to try a dessert which was really good!
