Wow, this place is so cool. I came early on Saturday. I ordered the Kooter Klassic and Frickles. The fried pickles were cut thick and dipped in a corn dog batter before frying. They were topped with sliced chili. The burger was a smashed burger with the usual toppings served with fresh cut fries. My meal was delicious. I loved the decor of the restaurant. It had a Dukes of Hazard theme. Its sad that Ben Jones who played Kooter just passed. They had a magician doing tricks for diners. They were setting up to play music. I'm not sure what time the live music starts. Service here is the best. Everyone was so nice. They are always checking to see if you need anything. I will definitely be back. read more

We were fortunate enough to have our high school reunion at this awesome location up on the rooftop terrace! We could not have asked for a better setting and helpful staff. They were so accommodating they even accepted a playlist from our era so they could play music from our high school years. Wow, wow, wow! Fun decor, fabulous customer service, and fairly large menu. Great to see the owner, so friendly. We had met him years ago at hi Sancho's Tacos location in HB, worthy! We chose the bacon BBQ cheese smash burger with sweet potato fries. D E L I C I O U S! Every bite was flavorful! Huge crispy, hot onion rings, big smashed patty, not over salty, soft fresh brioche bun, epic, not over sauced! Bbq sauce was perfect, not overpowering or sweet. When dinner plans go awry, PIVOT! Our first night in San Clemente was meant to be celebrating another trip around the sun while sipping rum drinks on the pier, watching the sunset. But if there's one lesson I've learned in many years roaming the Earth, it's be adaptable. Beautiful, crazy, fun, exciting things can happen when you stay open to throwing out the game book and letting life lead the way. Sometimes...you find yourself at Krazy Kooters having a wonderful time and a delightful meal! Such as it was this Saturday night in San Clemente. We came in a bit late for supper, almost 9:30pm, but we got a great seat at an open window and started taking in the options. I was wanting a drink with a kick and I got one. I forget what it was called, but I believe it was vodka muddled with strawberry, mint and something spicy. I usually make notes but, HUN-NEY, it was a DAY! Next, we ordered some food. I was really happy they had a light bowl option, with seared ahi and sticky rice. It was very flavorful, delicious and fresh. Hubs went with the steak and fries. He enjoyed the steak - cooked and seasoned perfectly - but wasn't so wild about the house "punch Krazy fries". I think they may have been fried twice because they were very crisp. We also requested the "Yungstas" Lil' Mac, because the side serving version was described as having "garlic chive fondue w/buttery crumbs" and we are all about a creamy, dreamy Mac and cheese offered to kids. We appreciated that they permitted this order. I'm always surprised when the request is denied to order something from a kids menu when we are obviously ordering 2 entrees and beverages, but Kooters rocked that request and the "kreamy cheese sauce" without the butter crumbs was perfect. The crowd this night was pretty chill. The bar seemed filled with locals, which I like, and we had a nice relaxing time, enjoying our dinner and taking in the eclectic decor. My husband and I went to check it out a couple weeks ago on a Sunday for a brunch. Firstly the owner was so friendly and down to earth. The food was exceptional. It was the perfect spot for us. I came for lunch for the first time and their patio was beautiful. They had plenty of shady and sunny seats and even a live musician. They have all sorts of fun events weekly too. As far as the food, I split the Hawt Chick sandwich with the extra hot sauce and it was A+. The chicken was so crispy and the pickles were extra juicy. I have to admit, it was our own fault for deciding to try this restaurant despite having a feeling that the place would be too loud for a quiet, relaxing Sunday brunch. My husband had seen a picture of one of their burgers on Yelp and really wanted to try it. Since they have great reviews overall, we decided to give it a shot. When we arrived, we asked to be seated in a quiet area. We were told that there really wasn't a quiet spot, but that the patio would be the least loud option, so we sat outside. Unfortunately, soon after we got our food, a family with two kids sat right next to us, and our quiet Sunday brunch instantly turned into a most unpleasant experience. Once again, I know it's our own fault for staying. For food, we shared the fried pickles, which were actually good. My husband ordered the Mexican burger and liked it well enough. However, my Loco Moco was almost inedible. I had ordered it with over-easy eggs and extra crispy hash browns instead of sticky rice. The eggs came out well over-medium and completely rubbery. The "extra crispy" hash browns were burnt on the outside and mushy on the inside; I couldn't even eat them. The burger patty itself was also burnt and so hard that I couldn't even cut into it, and the gravy was incredibly bland. My husband told me to send it back and order something else, but between the noisy music and the screaming kids running around the restaurant, I completely lost my appetite and just wanted to leave. I guess if you like well-done smash burgers and a noisy atmosphere, then this restaurant is for you. But if you prefer a thick, juicy, flavorful burger and a relaxing meal, I wouldn't recommend it. LOVE this spot! The vibes alone are immaculate and our server was amazing! The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. We came by for lunch today for San Clemente Restaurant Week and had ourselves a very big and very tasty meal! Started with the wedge salad, tasted good but my serving had too much dressing so I didn't finish it. My friend's salad was perfect though, so I think I just got a heavy poor. The New York Steak was great, we asked if we could upgrade the fries to the Kattywampus fries and they were able to accommodate the change. The fries were incredible, definitely would order those again as an appetizer! Dessert was fantastic, huge warm s'more brownie with vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle. I had plenty of leftovers and ended up having the rest for dinner. Overall great spot, I will definitely be coming back!! So many tasty menu items I need to try. This place was so much fun! We were going to brunch across the street, but it was super busy and went here instead! When we walked in, there was live music happening, and a magician from the magic castle was going around doing a lil tableside card magic! The food was surprisingly, super good, I got the Eazy Scramble (basically a veggie scramble). It was super yummy! The potatoes on the side were also really good! My friend got the Waffle-N-Chicken. It was a really fluffy Belgian waffle, and he said the chicken was very crispy with good flavor. Service was a lil slow at first, but I think our original server, he was not paying attention, and another server took matters into her own hands, and she was amazing! While visiting San Clemente, we were looking for a breakfast place to eat with outside seating to accommodate my dog, and so glad we chose this spot. The food was unbelievable. All 3 dishes were amazing, and we didn't need to add any sauces or condiments as they were perfect the way they served it. The service was so exceptionally great, and they gave my doggie water and were so kind to him and us. Came here with friends for some appetizers and drinks. Not much of a selection on the menu, but our server Stephanie was really great with recommendations. Drinks were good and appetizers were filling. We had the habanero chicken wings, which I loved, and was flavorful. If I could give this place 10 stars I would such a great and well needed venue for San Clemente. Tried to get tickets the first weekend for comedy night and was sold out so finally went this Saturday at 8 pm and the comedians did not disappoint... pretty much laughed our butts off the entire time. Total 4 comedians 2 from LA cost $10 but get online asap as this sells out by Tuesday. wine and beer $8 and tons of food if u want to eat get there early tables inside separate area ... place seats maybe 75 no standing so easy view for all. Some couch seating but mostly slat chairs (not the most comfy) but I love this gem let's keep it rolling once word gets out im afraid I will not be able to keep up with demand. read more

This place is for everyone. Great food drinks and atmosphere. We walked in off the street because we saw they had a bunch of tvs and wanted to watch the World Cup games. The staff was super accommodating, welcoming, and overall great people. Didn't know what to expect with all the crazy decor inside and we had two babies with us, but they loved looking around at everything. The staff made sure we had what we needed for them. It was so nice. Beyond just the excellent customer service, the drinks and food were very good. I got an Aperol spritz and the margarita bowl. Both were excellent. Our table got the mojito, wings, mimosas, and ahi tuna bowl. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. They also have vegan and gluten free items marked on their menu. The buddies and I meet up for lunch on Wednesdays either after golf or just to hang out. Our go-to spot is Daily's in San Clemente, but we were meeting earlier than noon, when Daily's opens. I was skeptical of going to Krazy Kooters as they recently opened and I wanted to give them time get the kinks out. But, here we were. The patio was a great first impression, as it is spacious and it had a nice breeze coming through. We sat at a high top and waited for our third buddy to show up. As I sat down, our great server, Zachary, came out with the wine the one buddy ordered and he took my order for a diet coke. Time to review the menu to see what culinary expedition I would be on for lunch today. The menu was not extensive and later one buddy would comment that it would be hard to come here weekly, as there was not a variety of choices. Since we were waiting for the third buddy, we decided to order some Frickles. Fried dill pickle chips, battered in krispy kornmeal (notice the comedy "K" theme??) with jalapeno ranch. When served, the Frickles had sweet pickled jalapenos and cilantro on top. These were pretty good, but I thought they were a little thick. I really like the fried pickles at Hooters, in fact that may be the only other place I have had fried pickles. You get about 10 or 12 Frickles. When I return (is that foreshadowing?) I would pass on the Frickles. While we munched on those, the third buddy showed up and we were ready to order once he took a quick looky-loo at the menu. The awesome Zachary was ready for us to order and my choice was the Klassic Kooter (those K's again!) which is a smash patty, white American cheese, brioche bun and fancy sauce. (I wish I would have asked what was fancy about it or at least what it was!). I added lettuce, tomato, raw onions, extra pickles. You have a choice of adding more smash patties, but I went with the klassic one patty. The burger comes with Krazy Fries (house punched fries with Kooter's seasoning). See the nice presentation in my pictures. The buddies both ordered the Hawt Chick ($20) - Krispy breaded Mary's chicken breast, mild or spicy Nashville style hat sauce dunk, dill pickle chips and Kooters slaw. Sorry, did not get a photo. The one buddy ordered the sandwich mild and the other ordered as spicy as they can make it and also asked to add jalapenos. Zachary laughed and took his order. We all had our drinks refreshed and after a bit Zachary brought out our food on small baking pans. They all looked good. I always go for my fries first and depending on how much I like them I will eat some, a majority portion or all of them before I go on to my burger. These fries were very, very good, fresh kut and cooked nice and krunchy. Without being detected, I had absconded the second little tub of jalapeno ranch that came with the Frickles. That was a tasty kombo with the great fries. Well, I ate them all. Every Krazy fry was in my gullet. On to the burger and due to the konsumption of all if my fries, I was planning on kutting the burger in half and eating that. However, I just picked up the entire burger and started chomping. It just looked great. Perfect melty cheese, nicely stacked ingredients on the sexy, shiny brioche bun. One bite and I proclaimed, "WOW!" even as I was still chewing the first bite. It was delicious. Best burger I have had in some time. Bun was soft and fresh, smashed patty cooked nicely, veggies were krunchy and fresh and the fancy sauce was really tasty, but I still don't know why it's fancy! This was an awesome burger. Go get one. Prove me wrong, I dare you! You will be so grateful you read this long diatribe about a burger and fries! The buddies really liked (loved) their chicken sandwiches. Juicy, perfect spice and a hot, delicious mess. My plan is to try the Hawt Chick sandwich next time and get it spicy! My Kompliments to the Krazy Kooter Kchef. Kudos to those in the Kitchen. I am very Keen on Krazy Kooters. I'm not Kidding, bring your Kinfolk and leave the Kittens at home because you will be Knee-deep in fancy sauce and jalapeno ranch. You may want to Kneel and praise the Lord after your burger. If you now Know about KK's it would be bad Karma not to go to this Kid-friendly place. Kindly ask for the Klassic Kooter and you with think it KICKS-Butt! Ha, ha!!
