Waiting on our appetizers on the patio

Historic, and quaint made me feel like a regular even though it's my first time visiting. The live music was the cherry on top. Food took a bit to come to the table after ordering, but it was completely worth the wait! I have never had a Brisket that was so tender and perfectly seasoned at a BBQ joint. I live about an hour and a half away, and I will definitely make the drive just for dinner again soon.

Great time and awesome spot! Food was excellent, the hospitality was fun and warm, there was even great laid back love music. We're looking forward to the next visit already.

This place is a hidden little secret sitting quietly on a crazy busy PCH run by a husband and wife team. They have owned this place for over 43 years and the recipes for their quality meats and sides shines through. The restaurant offers inside and outside dining options with a live band on fri, sat and Sunday. The baby back ribs are tender and delicious. The brisket is top quality and very lean. They have plenty of tasty sides to go with your meal including fresh corn, salad, beans (my fav), fries and cole slaw. It's definitely a more casual, laid back environment, but the food is second to none.

Had the baby back ribs with BBQ beans, corn bread, and coleslaw...a fantastic treat with some live music to boot!

Walked in and was met with a whiff of smoke. And not the good kind. The entire inside smelled desperately of cigarettes and fire but hey I was there for the food. Lady greeted us and told us to sit wherever expect outside. Apparently people reserve tables outside hours in advance. (There is live music). Floors, walls, seating, and I suppose everything was very old. Don't dress up if you are coming here. Now for the food. Ribs were very good as well as the corn and the fries. However, ribs were a bit too overcooked and for the price I would've expected much more. Overall would go again if someone asked me to; other than that, save your dollars for something better.

End of meal

Wow! Best food. Best service. If I were to be robed of all my earthly possessions id be happy knowing I ate at the rib joint!

I've heard so many good things about truly pizza and omg did it deliver. Worth the wait and drive…read morefrom LA! My friend and I were at Laguna beach and decided to treat ourselves for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I was afraid we wouldn't get seated because we walked in but I think we got there right before rush hour around 4 pm so we only waited 5 min to be seated. The whole restaurant is outside with tables under lemon trees and twinkly lights which was beautiful. Definitely very picturesque. We ordered one of everything. We tried the non alcoholic spritz that was refreshing. We also got a salad that was beyond good! A nice a refreshing appetizer. For pizzas we decided to try both a round pizza and square one. The potato Bianca came with burning rosemary on top that added to the fragrance and taste of the pizza. However, my favorite of the night was the sweet and spicy. I am personally not a big fan of thick crust pizza, but this dough was so good and crunchy! I ordered a side of ranch (extra) to dip my crust in. 11/10

They create amazing combinations not found elsewhere. There are two basic styles (round or square deep dish). Their sauce and toppings are finger-licking good. We ordered the Dante made with Provolone and Mozzarella cheeses, topped with chicken sausage and basil. The crust is light, airy, bubbly and lightly charred! We also had the Spagnola Salad with Pear slices, Almonds, Manchego cheese and Quince dressing. I loved it so much! I got full after one slice of pizza, I am such a wimp, my eyes wanted another slice!!! But, we had leftovers, which turned our lunch into dinner later that evening. Notes: - Book reservations online - Walk-in will be an hour waiting time. - Two-story outdoor patio seating - Small parking lot in the back alley - Street parking Sincerely, Rosemary

I think I'm in love with their bread. I can't go in alone or else I walk out with several loaves…read more Their plain one is my favorite but then again, they all are. The everything bagel loaf is great toasted with cream cheese, and their garlic rosemary loaf is delicious made into garlic bread or for croutons. Don't leave it out on the counter or you'll eat it all by yourself! And more than just for eating, I gift them too! Need something to bring to a dinner? Grab a loaf. Their croissants and sandwiches are great as well. The loaves last several days, just make sure to seal it in a bag properly. They freeze great too. It's a cute little walk in and go shop, clean, and smells so good. The staff is on it and fast.

Actually, at least 90 of its items are sourdough based, even sweet pastries and cookies. Grabbed a regular sourdough, jalapeno cheddar sourdough, and a sourdough peanut butter dark chocolate cookie with sea salt. Sourdough breads were substantial and solid. The cookie was excellent. I really didn't get any sourdough taste in the cookie. Service was friendly and helpful. It's a tiny spot, mainly meant for just grab & go items. It's located across the street from The Mission.

Stopped here after a morning at the beach…read more My kids got pepperoni and sausage pizza and said it was a 9.5! My pizza (pollo picante) was 8.5/10. Very good My mom's arugula salad was a 9/10. Very good Overall, very good and highly recommend

We came into Homeslice today to watch the USA v Belgium World Cup game. We arrived around 5:10pm…read morejust after the game started, and were seated at a table on the patio. There was a large group of people (started as a group of five but grew to about 10-12 people) who ended up bleeding into the table next to us and asked if they could take our two extra chairs. Being friendly, we said "sure, no problem!". Shortly after, Marc came over and asked if our chairs had been taken and we let them know that the group next to us asked for them. In response, with deep condescension he responded "No, that isn't okay we have a lot of people waiting", which we understood but we also don't work there and aren't going to be rude to fellow patrons. He then told the group next to us he needed the chairs back only to not actually use said chairs for seated guests. It left all of us very confused for the unnecessary interaction. About 15 minutes later, my husband was looking for our server to order another drink and close out, when Marc came up and told us he needed the table. Mind you, we took time out of our evening to get there early for the game (as did everyone else that evening) and there was no signage nor a heads up from the team onsite that there was a limit on the tables, especially as we weren't the only people there for the very same reason. We had been there about 1.5 hours at that point and there was only a little bit left in the game. The group next to us who had also been there the entire time, and got sat before we did, weren't told they needed to get up, but we were given the third degree for our two spots. When my husband asked if he could get that next drink, Marc responded "I don't take orders" and walked away. Our server then proceeded to not check on us for an additional 20 minutes (we were trying to close out as requested), which ironically made it so we took up their table for the remainder of the game. He also mentioned that he ran into a similar issue with guests the previous week for the game, which sounds to me like an opportunity for better problem-solving skills and coaching amongst the team, not a customer-issue. All of this, only for there to be NO wait when we left AND open tables. Being that my husband and I are both in hospitality management, we were extremely frustrated by the lack of respect and embarrassing customer service by none other than Marc Sullivan, a co-owner of Homeslice. I think it's a bare minimum ask that the management and ownership, have the same decency and respect for paying customers that they expect of the rest of their service staff. By the time we got to our car it was 7pm and hadn't even been two full hours, all for our table to not even be needed. Totally understand it being a busy night but highly recommend that the team game plan better rather than making it the customers' responsibility to highlight where this situation could have been improved. Really bummed to have this experience as we're DP locals and love coming to eat/drink here!
