I used to come here all the time, and it's still one of those places that feels like home the moment you walk in. The bartenders are absolutely amazing and they somehow always remember what you like. Becca and Erin truly make this place what it is -- they're the kind of people who turn a quick stop into the highlight of your night. That said, you really can't go wrong with anyone behind the bar or on the floor. Every person I've met here has been welcoming, fun, and genuinely invested in making your experience enjoyable. I don't live nearby anymore, but I make a point to stop in every time I'm back in the area because the staff is that great. Such a great spot to watch some Sunday football - this place has high energy so a perfect spot to go watch the game with others. If you're looking for a low-key quiet spot this is not the place to go during football season on a Sunday morning, but it was perfect for what we were looking for :-) Our server was so sweet and attentive. We had a great time watching NFL Sunday here and enjoying a meal with drinks! The hostess was quick to get us seated by the TV that was streaming the game we wanted to watch. Our kids were even able to play with some building blocks while we waited for our food. We got the Filipino LUMPIA appetizer and traditional Filipino breakfast TAPSILOG. Both were yummy. We also ordered the clam chowder and loco moco. Those were a hit. For drinks we enjoyed a bottle of champagne with pineapple juice and espresso martinis. We had a great time. They were very busy on a Sunday morning full of NFL games. Despite that, our party of 4 adults and 2 littles were seated promptly with the game we wanted to watch front and center. The lot is pretty tight on parking but most folks were able to grab a spot on the street. We ordered the lumpia, loco moco, tapsilog, and New England clam chowder in a bread bowl and everything tasted great. We also had espresso martinis with Bailey's to start and finished with a bottle of bubbly. Kiddos were able to play with a giant jenga set and there was cornhole as well. It was a great spot to watch my boys in Honolulu blue. Service was prompt, courteous, and attentive, which was even more impressive given how busy the place was. The cherry on top? Really fair pricing and especially for this area. They do pass on the credit card surcharge and add 20% for parties of 6 or more BUT, it's reflected in the pricing of the menu items (competitive) AND we gladly gave on top of the 20% for the awesome service we received. read more

What a fun find! Sitting inside near the window, offered nice views of PCH, the hills of San Clemente, a peek at the beach, and Dana Point's Lantern District sign... and pleasant breezes. Our bartender/server, Dianni, was the best: friendly-&-energetic, attentive, and ... fun! We just went in for a drink and a quick bite. Well drinks were good! We'd shared the Doheny Salad and Lumpia; the salad was a generous portion as well as fresh and tasty; while it was difficult to clearly identify the water chestnuts and green onion in the lumpia, we enjoyed the crisp and lightly-fried thinner-than-traditional egg rolls atop a tasty little salad. Parking spaces in the lot are limited; fortunately, we landed the last space. We look forward to returning! read more

The Point is hands-down one of the best spots to relax, enjoy great food, and truly feel taken care of. I've never experienced consistently better service at a bar/restaurant. Erin and Becca in particular go above and beyond for every guest. They juggle constant requests--TV changes, music adjustments, special asks--with patience, professionalism, and genuine care. Especially football since the owners have paid the extremely high fee to bring the NFL package to their establishment and offer their patrons the opportunity to watch their favorite teams. After the Sawdust festival we stopped here on our way back south. Inside building with an open air feeling with a great view from inside. They also have an outside area. Our waiter was fun and the food was good. There were seven of us so we ordered drinks and appetizers. We tried the lumpia ($13.45) which was not what I expected. I live in NC and we had a place that made fresh lumpia so I was shocked to see packaged lumpia. It was okay but I would not get them again. Once you have fresh lumpia you can't eat packaged. We also tried the fish tacos ($13.45) and they were pretty good. Probably the best out of the food we tried. Someone got a chicken burger ($16.95) , which was a good size burger and they said it was good. It came with sweet poto fries. Nothing jumped out at us but the place just has a good vibe. I gave this establishment one star because of the bartender/ shift manager Erin C. I have never been treated so horribly at a sports bar. I went to the restaurant to watch the Bears/Packers game with a group of people. In the past The Point has always put the sound on for the games but on this night they were playing club music. We asked if they could put the sound to the game on instead but they said the people sitting at the bar wanted the music. When the people left we asked again if they could put on the game to which the bartender replied "if you ask nicely ". Uh what...we did. At this point I told the waitress, who was wonderful, that we were going to leave a bad review because we repeatedly asked nicely to put the sound on, as this is a sports bar, but were met with nothing but disrespect. Erin came over to our table ready for a fight. She was rude and very combative. After yelling at us she went behind the bar and high fived the other employees, as if she had just won a fight. She proceeded to bad mouth us to every other employee (within our earshot). I think we found a hidden, local gem while on our little day-cation as a family! We decided to head to Laguna (from LA) on Father's Day to get some different beach scenery. My favorite burger shop is in Dana Point (about a 15 min drive from the Montage). Little did I know it was closed on Sunday, so on our way back I jumped led to yelp for some recommendations. The Point came up and we were right there so it was perfect. This place is great. As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a smile and told to just find whatever. We headed straight through to the back doors to a patio with a bar and grabbed a table next to a couple friendly dogs. Ari was our waitress and white possibly the cutest person ever. So sweet, attentive and patient (2 younger children are a lot). The food WAS INCREDIBLE. I think we ate half our kids' fingers and fries because they were so amazing. I had a mimosa and fish tacos, my older daughter had the fish and chips and my husband had the seared tuna salad. Everything was so good we all ended up sharing each others. While my daughter and hubby were finishing up, I kept the kids busy by playing some of the backyard games they have.
