We love coming to flex our over the top amazing sunsets that are offered here in Laguna Niguel, Ritz Carlton. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. I had one of the best non-alcohol drinks, hi biscuits spritzer, which was delicious. We ended up staying well past sunset because the night was just that beautiful and our wonderful waiter brought us blankets. Such a nice touch. We were talking about birthdays, and if they would allow us to rent the entire space for an upcoming birthday months away. Our waiter overheard that and thought that it was one of our birthdays and brought us over fresh just made cinnamon churros with chocolate sauce and caramel. Perfect treat in the evening. Another nice addition is if you are dining at 180 blue you get validation for $10. Sweet....

Perfect place to lounge and catch up with friends or family. Despite our stay being gloomy, it was still a beautiful view. The drinks were amazing! I highly recommend their Laguna pasion cocktail if you love your tequila!

Underwhelming to say the least. The seller is the view from this spot of course. I came to celebrate a birthday. It's a walk in, first come first serve, seat yourself deal. I never looked up what kind of restaurant 180blu is, but I was imagining something nice for sure. I came at about 2pm, and it was sunny and warm to say the least! I had my sunscreen on, but my skin was getting red and hot fast. There's no kind of shade or umbrellas on this patio deck so be weary of that. Service wasn't anything special; it kind of lagged, honestly. It took a while after choosing a table to ever see our waiter. Water and a small bowl of mixed nuts were provided while we overlooked the menu. Items ordered: Caesar Salad Peruvian scallop crudo Ahi Tuna Tartare Guacamole Zero proof Kosmo Caesar Salad: We all laughed. What a joke. Check the attached photos. I had to cut up my own romaine lettuce? For $17 they definitely are making a huge profit off of this dish. It was truly a joke when I was served the plate. Peruvian scallop crudo: Not my cup of tea. It was okay. Flavor was off in my opinion. The scallop itself was tender and fresh. The flavors just didnt mix together. Ahi Tuna Tartare: This was the best dish by far. I loved the ahi tuna. I am a huge fan of poke bowls and this is exactly what it had imitated. The tuna felt extremely fresh and the sauce accompanying it made it all the better. I would def recommend and reorder this. Guacamole: Basic. The tortilla chips were interesting... burnt tasting. Zero proof Kosmo: Horrid. I never had a drink that tasted this bad before. I did not taste any cranberry juice or grenadine in the drink. It tasted like genuine lime juice with the dry london spirit. Views are top tier of course, that and the tuna tartare are the only selling points, otherwise there are so many other good restaurants around to go to instead.

The views here are incredible! We dined here on a Friday night to start our babymoon weekend at the Ritz Carlton. We were able to get a table right away. There was live music which was really nice. The patio is all outdoors and dog friendly. All the seating was high tops. I'm not sure we ordered very well. The best thing was the surf and turf tacos! My husband and I split that. The whipped feta was unexpected and not my favorite. The stuff in the middle, maybe harissa, was too spicy for me. The guacamole was also a bit spicy for me. Unfortunately something I ate that night or earlier in the day upset my stomach and I think it was the spice in the food, which I wasn't prepared for. My husband got a butter washer whiskey cocktail and was it was really good. If I go back I'd just get the tacos.

My husband surprised me with a date night here, and he really did his research the view was unreal. Sunset, ocean breeze, good food... it was perfect. Such a cute spot for a cozy little date.

Came on a Sunday afternoon for some light bites before a ginger bread house decorating workshop. It was quick to get a seat, and also quick to move when a better view came available. The service was attentive and the surf and turf tacos were delicious! Flavorful and full of goodness. I enjoyed the hard taco shell for a bit of crunch. A lot of ooey gooey melted cheese as well. A bit on the pricier side but that's to be expected at the ritz. Would dine here again!

Jennifer at 180blu can I give her a round of applause! From helping me as I walked in to when sitting down my server Rose was there but Jennifer on it!! The food I got truffle fries from the crunchy texture and soft interior to the truffle infused flavor it was there. The dirty martinis that I ordered delicious! The view just topped off my solo date. Sunset view is just gorgeous. Date night, solo date, family gathering for small bites this is it!! Crème Brûlée to top off my dessert why I think yes. Never can go wrong with crème brûlée. Definitely coming back here for a date night, family get together, or a treat yourself night!

Fresh, authentic, great techniques, and fabulous presentations by staff. Jose, our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, made great recommendations and was at his best with everyone at the outdoor patio

A long-time favorite that never disappoints. I've been coming to 180blü at The Ritz-Carlton in Dana Point for years, and it continues to be one of my all-time favorite spots in Southern California. This patio restaurant is a true destination experience--perched above the Pacific with panoramic ocean views that are nothing short of breathtaking. The ocean air, the sound of the waves, and those unforgettable sunsets make every visit feel special and serene. The food is always fresh and consistently excellent. My go-to light bites never fail: the flavorful surf 'n turf tacos, the juicy and satisfying Raya Burger, and the decadent potatoes and caviar--each one thoughtfully prepared and delicious. And then there's the service, which is top-tier. Allan, my longtime server, is an absolute standout. He's welcoming, attentive, and has become a familiar, friendly face over the years--a true fixture at 180blü who always enhances the experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is a must. Come for the views, stay for the food and service--you won't be disappointed.

As soon as you walk in the view, just takes your breath away. We are able to get a table right against the wall with the most amazing view of the ocean. Our server Jose was on point and made some amazing recommendations. The tacos were seriously some of the best that I've ever had. Just a great experience.

Is this open to the public?

Yes, you don't have to be hotel guest. You can just visit the restaurant/bar. We used the valet parking, I am not sure if there is self parking available. It is walk in only for 180blu, no reservations needed.

    How much is the parking?

Don't know how much the Ritz charges for parking, but there is usually (except for peak summer months) plenty of parking in the lot across the street for $1 an hour.

Is sushi served only on weekends?

This restaurant is more light bites they do have some types of sushi type of foods served all the time. but not sushi per se...

They're also introducing a late-night happy hour with food and live music, which is a great way to enjoy a sophisticated drink when most restaurants have closed in the area. She also gave fantastic recommendations, and everything we ordered came out timely and perfectly prepared. One thing that really stood out was when I asked if they happened to have truffle fries, even though they weren't on the menu. She explained that they normally only serve them during happy hour, but she offered to check anyway...and to my surprise, she was able to bring them out for us! That small gesture meant so much and showed how willing she was to go above and beyond for her guests. To make the birthday celebration even more special, she brought out a beautiful tres leches cake with a candle so we could all sing happy birthday to my cousin. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the moment feel truly special. After we paid, we had the chance to chat with her, and it only confirmed what we had already experienced throughout the meal--she is such a positive, uplifting person. She's the kind of employee who lights up an establishment and makes people want to come back. We happened to stop nearby and decided to look around this plaza. We were starting to get hungry and Glasspar looks like the most appealing option so we decided to check it out. HAPPY HOUR: Mon-Thurs 4:30-6pm, Fri-Sat 4-6pm. Wow what a deal. I normally don't think about happy hour deals on Saturdays but we were pleasantly surprised. It was 5:30pm already so we had to make some quick decisions. Chad was very friendly and helpful with our order. We decided to get a Dozen and a Half Oysters (HH $3/each), an Oyster Shooter (HH $5), Duck Fat French Fries (HH $7), 1/2 lb Steamed Clams (HH $13), and Seafood Poke (HH $12). The specialty cocktails were such a good deal I wanted 2 but asked my boyfriend to order one so I don't look like too much of an alcoholic. I had the White Sangria Spritzer (HH $12) and a G3 (HH $12). Everything came out in a reasonable amount of time and Chad communicated checking on things for us as we were waiting. He was really on top of it. The oysters were awesome! My only regret was not ordering more. For the dozen and a half came with 6 of each of Baracats, Stingrays, and Pacific Plumps. I thought the baracats and stringrays were mild. My favorite was definitely the pacific plumps; it was sweet and creamy with a good bite to it. The shucking was also really well. I just want to give them that credit. The oyster shooter was strong, in a good way. Tasty! The duck fat fries were nice and crispy. It came with a rich truffle aioli. The steamed clams were good, but the slice of bread they gave us with it was burnt to an inedible level. I also would have liked a spoon to sip that garlic white wine and butter liquid. Clams were fresh. The seafood poke came with crispy wonton chips. It was decent. After our original order we decided we wanted to finish off with somethings small, so we got the Clam Chowder ($14). I would have liked it a smidge thicker in texture but the taste and the quality of ingredients are on point. I get the bacon essence and a good amount of clams in the soup too. I'm really glad we added that to our order. I also really like that the check comes in books. Chad told us that we can write a note in it if we want. They look at it like a way to interact with their customers. So cute!! We are DEFINITELY coming back here!! Next time I'll order even more oysters :)

The parking is definitely limited, as I saw from other reviews on Yelp. On a Sunday evening it was very easy, however. The chicken was a large portion, and so tasty. The dressing was SO good. They did forget dressing on both of our salads which was kind of annoying for a simple caesar (so we had to get a side of it). That being said, once we did get dressing, I seriously could've drank the stuff it was so yummy. They also scorch their tomatoes in the salad to perfection. I also tried the crispy tuna appetizer, which was surprisingly different from similar versions I have had at sushi restaurants (not in a bad way). The fish was very fresh and I would order this appetizer again. I think it came with five fairly small pieces (just so you know how many to order for a crowd). If you are feeling dessert, they have an incredible (and massive) butter cake!
