Hi Foodies, have I got a treat for all of you. Doheny State Beach with a pass or pay for parking is cheap and park right by the Cafe. Adian and all the people are great. Adian is the one who cooks up these delicious soups and meats for tacos and sandwiches. The patio is facing the ocean and lots of lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas for shade. The food is the best in town, take my word! Delicious burgers, tacos, poke and salads and Mexican corn fabulous. Tomato soup and potato soup deserve an award, best I've ever tasted. The brisket is beyond amazing, tasty and so tender you can cut it with Your tongue! Poke is big and full of goodies with crab and tuna. Shakes are cool and refreshing while sitting in the sun. What an unexpected surprise, this beach front gem gave us at sunset tonight. The grilled chicken and pesto sandwich was grilled to perfection, tender and flavorful! My friend lives down here, so whenever we bring the kids to the beach and have a beach day we'll come up and have food and drink drinks. The food's pretty decent. Prices have definitely gone up. The ambience is what gets you it is beautiful down here. You have the ocean right in front of you people by being in good moods and enjoy enjoying the day. There really is no service. It's all self service. There is a bar that does wine beer in seasonal spritzer. Around the café there's also rentals so you can rent bikes and things for the kids. Beautiful area to have lunch. Or even to order your food and then go sit back out on the beach. read more

Love having this place at the beach. We can walk here and enjoy a beer, and music, and a snack right up against the sand. It's great to let the kids sit there and play in the sand just outside the area. I wish they'd fix their mobile ordering though. The line is always super long and they have signs all over for mobile ordering but it has never worked. During the summer, the trolley stops just outside of doho beach. It's great to take visitors around the town. read more

Great spot for casual beach date! The fish and chips were phenomenal. The fish was perfectly breaded. Big enough to share. Looooooove the seasoning on the fries. The Bloody Mary was boozy and had a freshly cooked bacon. Service was friendly and prompt. There's two bathrooms nearby very clean. They have cornhole and a nice view of the ocean from anywhere in the restaurant. Lots of shaded seating. There is a paid parking lot be careful of the QR code I got charged $40. It was resolved. The snack bar located inside Doheny Beach. They have your typical beach foods. I only got a soda since I just ate. You can rent bikes surfboards etc. I noticed they also have a few beers too. This is a nice place to chill. read more

This café is pretty awesome! They are super friendly too. The burger was very good. The lettuce was a bit wet but it was delicious. The poké was also very good. Always enjoy coming here for views and yummy snack bar food. I really enjoyed the crispy caesar wrap and they have a great selection of beer! We have a parks pass, which makes parking easy. If you don't, there is a paid lot about a 5 minute walk away. I believe a day pass into the park is about 15$, so if you are willing to walk, the little lot is the way to go. read more

This place used to be locally run by folks who cared but no longer. The place is filthy, nobody is bussing tables and the area by the kitchen could use a good scrubbing. Someone in the kitchen was bellowing out order pickups while a girl was trying to sing songs- so rude. They just left the various planters as plain dirt and there's a huge dirt patch in the middle of the patio. The line to get a beer was 20 minutes long and the rude lady serving beer stopped service while we were still in line! That completely reinforced that we don't want another beer here ever and we won't be back. The patio was literally packed with people and they shut down, unlike the previous two franchises that stayed open for sunset at least! The new furniture is cool and the location can't be beat, but soooo many things could be better here. read more

If you're looking for beachside dining for an affordable price in Dana Point, then Doho Cafe is your place! My mom and I ordered the fish and chips and the impossible burger. The fish and chips come with either 2 pieces of fish or 3 pieces. The chips are very generous and deliciously seasoned. I got the 2 piece and felt it was enough. The tartar sauce was delicious as well. Loved the quality of the fish. Very tasty! My mom also loved her impossible burger. There were a lot of condiments to put on it at the self serve counter. The plant based patty was so good, she couldn't even tell it wasn't actual meat! She told me it was very flavorful and the best one she ever had. The prices are around $10-$20 for entrees. They offer alcoholic drinks like piña coladas and margaritas which hit the spot. To get the most current pricing, you just need to scan the QR code by the menu. Doho cafe is a fun place to hang out, eat, and watch the sunset. I'm going to offer a few tips to get the most out of your visit. Parking is $7.55 for one hour, $14.55 for 2 hours, or $20.55 for the day. You scan the QR code in the parking lot and pay by credit or debit card using your smartphone. If that doesn't work, they will take cash at the kiosk. If you are staying at the nearby Best Western Marina Shores, you can walk to The Doho Cafe without having to pay for parking. It's about a 10 minute walk. I would recommend checking to see if Doho Cafe is open first before you pay to park. I saw a couple of families become disappointed that they ran out of food and closed early at 5:30pm (an hour and a half before sunset) after they had paid the parking fee. Have someone run out to check first haha. Depending on how busy they get, they can close early if they run out of everything. They are usually open until sunset. We recommend this Cafe and Doheny State Beach to spend an afternoon. It will be one of our regular spots! read more

My wife and I spent a lovely Thursday at Doheny cafe and it was the best day we have had in a long time. My wife had the breakfast burrito and a vanilla latte both were delicious! I had the ham and cheese melt with a tomato and a coke. Omg!!! The bread was toasted to perfection and the cheese was perfectly melted. We also ordered a side of fries and they were also delicious and hot! For dessert we had a marshmallow Oreo treat and that sent us over the edge. We then walked a few steps to enjoy the sun for a couple hours but before we left we had a pina colada smoothie which was perfect on a warm day. We stopped by Doho Café for breakfast during a trip for my son's baseball tournament and it was the perfect beachside spot! It's right on the sand with a great laid-back vibe. I had the breakfast sandwich and my husband went with the breakfast burrito--both were fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. Can't complain about the beachfront location and love the amount of seats available. The food is decently priced and it gets ready pretty fast even when the place is busy but a few things: the fries with any entree seem to be the very heavily seasoned kind (which some people especially little people might not like). We got lucky that our friend ordered their food first and we knew to ask for plain fries which they made no problem but we wouldn't have known that the fries were seasoned. Also I ordered fish and chips which was really oily. I know it's fried but I have eaten my fair share of and chips and a lot of times it's not so soggy with oil. The fish pieces were also pretty small. So food isn't the best I've had but location Samuele adds to the experience. read more

While there's a few chain restaurants within walking distance of Doheny beach, this is the most convenient option. The line got long after 1130am so you'll want to arrive early, we came around 11 and walked right up to the order window. The menu included our favorites such as fish tacos, tuna melts, burgers and fries so there's a little bit more selection than your typical fast food on the beach. Everything was made to order and tasted fine, prices were reasonable considering the convenience and staff service was good. My only issue was the fish tacos we got were a bit on the tough side, more dry than I'm used to. There's quite a bit of bench seating, some with shade covering, and right on the beach soaked for a comfortable lunch or snack with even a larger group. They describe themselves as the "only on-the-beach cafe" in SoCal, while that's not really true, it is one of the better ones. read more

They do have soda outside in coolers but nothing was cold. They also have all the condiments outside for easy access. I would just be aware it's been outside on warm days.
