    Adult smoothie
    Iryna N.

This place is great. The line does take quite a long time though. We were already full, so we only got smoothies. You can make them with the adult option, which is what we did. However, they forgot to add alcohol to one of the smoothies. The atmosphere honestly can't get much better since it's literally

Chicken tenders, great seasoning on the fries.

No need to pack a lunch, they have it all. Can't beat the view, and plenty of seating. Descent variety and quick service. We don't bother packing a lunch- we just plan on Doho cafe when we come.

Quick and easy menu with all fresh made stuff. Great portion sizes. You get a buzzer. You can order online too but that menu is smaller. Beachside with tons of seating and covered shaded areas. Mini bar next door . Friendly service.

Food was really good - I got the Poke and friends got the tacos and burger. Serving was really great for the price of $20 which seemed high but for fresh food at the beach it was worth it!

Cool little hang with some live afternoon music and beverages. I do not recommend the smoothies which is why we stopped by. It's basically a melted snow cone with fake fruit syrup. And not worth $9.

My friend lives down here, so whenever we bring the kids to the beach and have a beach day we'll come up and have food and drink drinks. The food's pretty decent. Prices have definitely gone up. The ambience is what gets you it is beautiful down here. You have the ocean right in front of you people by being in good moods and enjoy enjoying the day. There really is no service. It's all self service. There is a bar that does wine beer in seasonal spritzer. Around the café there's also rentals so you can rent bikes and things for the kids. Beautiful area to have lunch. Or even to order your food and then go sit back out on the beach.

Had a great time at Sips and Sound event yesterday. Great crowd! We love hanging out here. Best food on the beach by far and employees are the best. Bella - awesome job on event. It was perfect day

Fun spot right on the beach with great food and local bands. We haven't tried the food yet, but it looks delicious. You truly can't get any closer to the ocean! Just a heads-up, parking can be pretty pricey

Very cool spot right on the beach with an amazing view. It's a typical beachfront setup where you order at the window, pick up your food, and find a seat. Service was fast and friendly. The food was solid as well--everything was fresh, tasty, and cooked well.

Great spot for casual beach date! The fish and chips were phenomenal. The fish was perfectly breaded. Big enough to share. Looooooove the seasoning on the fries. The Bloody Mary was boozy and had a freshly cooked bacon. Service was friendly and prompt. There's two bathrooms nearby very clean. They have cornhole and a nice view of the ocean from anywhere in the restaurant. Lots of shaded seating. There is a paid parking lot be careful of the QR code I got charged $40. It was resolved. That's not the restaurants fault though. I would definitely come here again.

You can't beat the view. This place also adds music on the weekends making it a great place to watch the sunrise. They also have fresh iced tea. The food is typical food stand grub just slightly upgraded. It's definitely a great place to vibe.

The snack bar located inside Doheny Beach. They have your typical beach foods. I only got a soda since I just ate. You can rent bikes surfboards etc. I noticed they also have a few beers too. This is a nice place to chill.

The hostess, Zoey, gave me the estimated wait time (which was an expected amount for that time in the early evening.) My mother-in-law has a portable oxygen concentrator that runs on batteries, so I inquired if there was an outlet we could use in the meantime to save the battery while we waited for our table. She politely asked me to wait while she spoke to her manger. Moments later, Kat, the manager arrived and I explained the situation. An unusual request I'm sure, so Kat took a minute to figure out a way to accommodate us. She also politely asked me to wait while she researched a solution. About 5 minutes later, Kat returned and informed me that a table by an outlet would be available soon if we could wait another 10-15 minutes. I happily agreed and let me party know. Not more that 15 minutes later, Kat gathered us in and showed us to our table. Our server, Alyssa, promptly greeted us and took our drink order while we perused the menu. We started with both the fried calamari and crispy brussel sprouts appetizers which were delicious and large enough for the 6 of us. For dinner, we had the Double Smash Burgers, Fresh Catch plate, Grilled Local Fish Sandwich, and the Cali Clam Chowder. Each entree was brought out fresh and tasted amazing! Alyssa was very attentive to ensure our meals were prepared to our liking and that our beverage needs were met. Kat came by as well to check on us and to make sure we had everything we needed. The staff and management at Jimmy's Famous American Tavern in Dana Point went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 6 and provide us with the perfect balance of personal and professional care. Thank you!

The parking is definitely limited, as I saw from other reviews on Yelp. On a Sunday evening it was very easy, however. The menu is fairly limited, and I wish they had a few more fish options, though the salmon I saw looked absolutely incredible. I had the chicken caesar salad. The chicken was a large portion, and so tasty. The dressing was SO good. They did forget dressing on both of our salads which was kind of annoying for a simple caesar (so we had to get a side of it). That being said, once we did get dressing, I seriously could've drank the stuff it was so yummy. They also scorch their tomatoes in the salad to perfection. I also tried the crispy tuna appetizer, which was surprisingly different from similar versions I have had at sushi restaurants (not in a bad way). The fish was very fresh and I would order this appetizer again. I think it came with five fairly small pieces (just so you know how many to order for a crowd). If you are feeling dessert, they have an incredible (and massive) butter cake!

When the FIFA World Cup starts, I love watching international football (soccer). For years, I was looking for the perfect place to watch the matches after my old favorite spot closed. I've been coming to The Point for more than 20 years, but I never realized what an amazing place it was to watch sports until the World Cup. The atmosphere is incredible. The sound system is fantastic, every TV is tuned to the same game with the live match audio, and no matter where you sit, you have a great view of multiple screens. It feels like you're inside the stadium, surrounded by fans who share the same passion for the beautiful game. I saw people from different backgrounds coming together, cheering, laughing, and enjoying the matches as one community. That's what sports are all about--unity and friendship. I want to thank everyone at The Point Restaurant & Bar for creating such a welcoming place for our community. Great service and friendly staff. Everyone is very knowledgeable and shares little tidbits about the wine while you enjoy. A few Suggestions / observations: 1. The self service wine area has a massive wine display that limits access to patrons who are there. A thin long belly bar would make it much more social and accessible. Constantly feel like I am bumping into people or wine bottles just to grab a taster then standing in a corner to get out of the way. 2. The massive LED tv's would be so nice if there was nature or a beach scene or something to set the ambiance. Having a massive advertisement of an appetizer stock photo and happy hour fliers illuminating half the store is not enjoyable, they could be utilized in a much nicer format. 3. We sat for probably 10 minutes before anyone greeted us, it was 3:30pm so it wasn't very busy, maybe 3-4 other tables. Every time someone came after that we had to wave someone down for water refills, never asked anyone if we wanted more drinks from the bar, nothing. Had my father in law asked for more ice tea and they never even started a new pitcher in 15 minutes. It was not busy. The place had a to of gluten free options which is a reason I wanted to try it. My server had no idea what gluten was. For a place that had half the menu marked as gluten free I was really surprised she really had no knowledge of the menu, but she was nice enough to go ask some questions when i pressed a bit that I wasn't vegan, and it was like an allergy. The food was good, portions were large enough and everything was pretty good as far as the food. Not sure why the service was so incredibly patchy and absent when we ate at 3:30 and the place was 2/3 empty. It was pretty good, I may try again but for the price point I think the service can be a little better. Nice...but slow. Definitely need more training on the menu! Mid. Not bad. Not great.
