I arrived at this place by accident (wanted to try a place nearby, didn't feel it, and on my way back to the car I saw this French bakery). I'm typically suspicious of French cafes, they never really hit the spot, and not because I try them with the expectation of getting a true French style product, but I'm just very often disappointed by the general quality. I'm so glad I gave this a go. We tried both savory and sweet pastries, and they were all absolutely delicious. To the point that I ordered a few more to go. The croissant with cream and berry was gorgeous, not overly sweet, which is sadly so rare, and the feta cheese and mushroom pastry was amazing. The person behind the counter was also super sweet and helpful. If I were a local, this would be my almost daily spot. read more

cute little shop. it's street facing and i was able to (illegally?) park right in front of it, but a LOT of other cars were doing it too so it must be a common thing since people are just running in an out of that area. i was visiting dana point for a beach camping birthday party and have never been to the area before. this bakery was easy to find and very close to the state beach entrance. it was an incredibly hot day so even though my intention was to just run in and grab a pastry, i tied my dog to a patio chair right outside the door. staff was very nice and said she could come in, since all their items are behind glass or bagged up but i didn't take them up on the offer. they offer lemon water in the lobby but staff was kind enough to get me fresh, plain water in a cup of ice for my dog while i shopped. they have loaves and loaves of fresh bread against the wall, a section for baked pastries, and fridge of little cakes and brulees and quiches. then there is another little fridge of thick yogurts and drinks. their custard croissants looked amazing and staff was really nice about recommendations. she didn't even try to upsell me, really. i got a chocolate croissant, a raspberry custard croissant, a cinnamon bun, an almond croissant, and mushroom alfredo pizza pastry. all of the breads were delicious and held up in the fridge as i had to spread out how often/quickly i ate them. i also go the vanilla lemonade, which was good, but tbh just tasted like regular lemonade. overall very nice experience and i would go back! read more

This man drove all the way to Duarte to the City of Hope campus for the weekly farmers market. My mom and I tried five delightful pieces, every one was excellent. The man helping had his hands full with customers but was so helpful and a joy to talk to. This bakery does not miss, highly recommend. read more

Overall: 10/10. Food: 10/10, we tried the French Vanilla lemonade. Apparently the lemons are boiled and they use sugar, and I believe brown sugar, it was a very unique. If this review was just for the baguette, I would rate this a solid 4. The baguette has a great chew to it. For some, it might be too much of a chew, but it was purchased late in the day. It has a great tasting crust. It would be a solid 5 if it was $3-$4. But at $6, it's pretty steep for a baguette. Even for Dana Point. Second review is for their chocolate chip cookies. I would rate them a solid 1. They don't have a strong chocolate chip taste to them, even though they look to have a lot of chocolate chips in them. They remind of me store bought cookies. I was craving something for breakfast that was savory and filling so I grabbed a piece of their Ham and Bacon Quiche to take home with me. Was it good? Oh, yes it was! Was it filling? Absolutely! This may be the best quiche that I have ever eaten. They gave me instructions on how to heat it up, and it came out perfect. The crust was flakey and the filling was 5/5 delicious. They were at a venders event at my work place in Duarte- if it weren't for that I would have to drive 2.5 hours to them!. I had their Dubai chocolate croissant. It was MAGNIFICENT. This is a wonderful place. I am so happy to see it doing so well. There is so much to be excited about here. I came here for the almond croissant - perfectly flaky and loved the almond filling. Another time I visited and got the asparagus and mushroom quiche. I had heard about the spinach version on Tik Tok and had to give it a try. It lived up fully to my expectations. I loved everything about it. I have also been here for the coffee and it is delicious. They use Illy coffee so it feels like you're in France. My only critique is that they only had one server working. I understand it is a small space and it's not always busy but when there is a line it can be a little bit of a wait. Stellar service though! Stopped here for the first time today. I ordered a slice of quiche, a baguette, and the crumb cake pastry to go. When I got home, and I opened a huge box that the slice of quiche was in, there was no side salad or slices of baguette as all their photos seem to indicate. French quiche is always served with a side of mixed greens, at least in my experience. It lacked that bit of refreshment by not having the greens with it. I called and asked why all the photos show it being served differently than I was given and I was told they stopped doing that a year ago. Very disappointed. This is a small French bakery in an unexpected location (in an upscale strip mall next to a pizza shop). Their selection of baked goods is not extensive but what they have is gorgeous. Aside from sweet items like chocolate croissants and tarts, they also have quiches, beautiful loaves of bread, and baguettes. They also had fresh kefir cheese in a little refrigerator, if that grabs you. We only tried a Nutella croissant and it was very nice. It probably would have been better (and fresher) earlier in the day but it was still obviously high quality. Our coffee drinks were fine. I wouldn't call them extra special. I found this place on Yelp and stopped by during a mini road trip to Escondido. Yay for a free parking lot. The food was plated beautifully! That being said, it didn't taste as good as it looked but was still good. I got the spinach quiche (which was served with baguette slices and a salad) and a croissant bateau (with swiss creme in the middle) and both were good but not amazing. Both were $21.28 (I think with a 15% tip included). They have some cute small tables inside and outside to sit at. The quiche was very creamy inside and has a soft cheese taste. I liked the crust and it was the right amount of salty but could have used a touch more flavor. The salad and baguette slices were fresh and tasty. I would have liked the salad in a bowl so the balsamic dressing didn't get on the quiche (those flavors didn't combine well). The pastries all looked so incredible it was hard to decide! I went with the recommended Croissant Bateau and it was good, not too sweet, but didn't taste that fresh. Like maybe it was made the day before or out for hours. I've had some amazing croissants in LA so my croissant standards are high now! Service was fine - not super friendly but not u friendly - if I was in the area I'd go back and try something else - there's plenty of other things that look great on the menu! read more

For such a small bakery, I really appreciate the variety and tartlets. They have a convenient parking lot behind the stores and are very close to the beach. Employee was friendly; and the cafe was cute & inviting, with seating both inside and outside. Everything was amazing!! I came to try it out with my boyfriend and I loved it so much that I immediately brought my mom the day after to get breakfast here. Their pastries are SO fresh and delicious, every single bite was wonderful there wasn't a single item that was bad, the peppermint mocha and the peppermint latte was amazing, and HUGE SHOUTOUT TO MAYA AND CANDY! They were SO AMAZING AND SO SWEET, they were so patient with with us taking forever to order and they were happy to accommodate our crazy requests and truly went above and beyond with their service, making my mom and I have an amazing unforgettable morning.
