Ham and Bacon Quiche - amazing
    Brian M.

I was craving something for breakfast that was savory and filling so I grabbed a piece of their Ham and Bacon Quiche to take home with me. Was it good? Oh, yes it was! Was it filling? Absolutely! This may be the best quiche that I have ever eaten. They gave me instructions on how to heat it up, and it came out perfect. The crust was flakey and the filling was 5/5 delicious. They certainly have a number of great looking items to try but I want another slice of the quiche.

They have an impressive selection of pastries with a variety of flavors. They have also sourdough bread, french, and other loaves. We tried the raisin croissant, pistachio croissant, baguette, and quiche, which were all good. Even when they weren't crispy by the time we purchased them, which were at the San Juan Capistrano farmers market where we found them on a Friday.

Went for a morning snack and found a gem! We ordered the kouign amann, raspberry fruit parfait and a coffee. Pastry was fresh, tasty, baked to perfection and high quality. Coffee was delicious. Fruit parfait was the best my wife has ever had. Service was slow as they appeared understaffed. But it was well worth it. Definitely repeat.

This was a cute little bakery and cafe with some good pastry options! I got the pistachio cream croissant that was perfectly filled and the hot coco which was not too sweet but had a rich chocolatey taste. Such a good stop for a cold morning by the beach.

    What to choose?

Tout ce que je peux dire, c'est WOW! I got there about 20 minutes after they opened. Lots to choose from! What do I want? I ordered a plain croissant, pan au chocolat, croissant à la pistache, et une touche de cannelle. Each one was delicious! Baked in that traditional way that is French! Flaky....buttery...sooooo good! I do suggest going early so you won't have to hassle with parking. There are spaces in front, but also parking in the back of The Row. The young woman was friendly for it being so early. They have some nice tables in front. Next time I will have to try the breads! Merci Le Saint Honore!

    Nutella croissant was good.

This is a small French bakery in an unexpected location (in an upscale strip mall next to a pizza shop). Their selection of baked goods is not extensive but what they have is gorgeous. Aside from sweet items like chocolate croissants and tarts, they also have quiches, beautiful loaves of bread, and baguettes. They also had fresh kefir cheese in a little refrigerator, if that grabs you. We only tried a Nutella croissant and it was very nice. It probably would have been better (and fresher) earlier in the day but it was still obviously high quality. Our coffee drinks were fine. I wouldn't call them extra special. Come here, and perhaps come early, for bread and other baked goods and treats. Seating inside and out, and plenty of free parking behind the building.

For such a small bakery, I really appreciate the variety and tartlets. They have a convenient parking lot behind the stores and are very close to the beach. We ordered the cappuccino and croissant sandwich. Their lunch servings are available for breakfast as well. The drink was served quickly and the breakfast/lunch was house made. Outdoor seating was nice with the marble tables.

    Beautiful pastries

Amazing, beautiful, yummy, delicious everything... The quiche is blow your mind. The thoughtful visual touches on each pastry is dreamy! The yogurt makes you dream of angels! Service is thoughtfully executed! Basil was kind and efficient and Maya sweet and helpful

Stopped in for a couple hot drinks before heading out to the pier. Location is on PCH and there is street parking right in front if you're lucky, as well as a small parking lot nearby. Employee was friendly; and the cafe was cute & inviting, with seating both inside and outside. They had a variety of both sweet and savory items, and it was difficult to choose as everything looked so tempting! I opted for a French vanilla latte and a spinach & feta croissant and my husband had the white mocha latte and a jalapeño cream cheese croissant. My latte was piping hot, not overly sweet and definitely perfect for this chilly evening. Both croissants were buttery, flaky and delicious.

We ordered the Apple Danish and Cinnamon Roll which were both very good, We loved the "sugar crystals" or whatever it is on top of the Cinnamon Roll we wish the Danish had more of them!! Apple Danish - 8.5/10 Cinnamon Roll - 10/10 The service was very good the lady was sweet and gave us our order so that's always a bonus. :) 10/10 The restaurant was really cute and small nicely decorated and very clean so can't go wrong there would definitely take people here and you should check it out!

Cute little French bakery by the beach off PCH in Dana Point. We stopped by early on a Sunday morning and had our pick of the goodies. I got the cinnamon twist and the pistachio croissant. So flaky, so yummy, ugh! I do wish the pistachio cream was a little more evenly distributed but it was still delish. The cinnamon twist was delightful as well, not quite as flaky but still yummy. And my husband loved his Nutella banana croissant. There were a few tables inside and a few on the patio to enjoy that early morning ocean breeze. We're not in Dana Point often so I don't know that I'll be back soon but would be worth trying again if I were!

Not in a corporate "we ordered our personality from a catalog" way. In a real, slightly chaotic, neighbor-knows-your-name way. Small parking lot? Yes. But that just means you've found something worth gatekeeping. Also there are outdoor seating by the street AND the parking lot, in case you want to hide yourself from the rest of the world. (I'm team parking lot, hiding.) The staff? So nice. So friendly. Like genuinely warm humans. They even offered my dog treats without me awkwardly hovering and hinting. Immediate loyalty secured. And the WiFi? Slapped. Hord. Like, I could actually open PDFs, upload things, and pretend I was writing something groundbreaking instead of rearranging paragraphs for 40 minutes. Patio productivity with dog present = elite setup. Coffee was solid, vibes were solid, humans were solid. This is the kind of place you accidentally turn into your personality. Would return. With dog. With laptop.

I'll be back to Coffee Importers soon--it's a great place in DP for a morning coffee and pastry and hopefully the "regulars" don't ruin it for everyone else. Original review: I want to love this place and it bums me out to have to write this, but this is one of the least welcoming places in DP. Not because the staff is rude. But because they allow this clique of regulars to take over the outside patio and harass people who aren't in their group. I've watched it happen a few times now, but today was the worst. A woman with a little kid sat down at an unoccupied table and started having their food. A couple of minutes later an older gentleman walked up and began verbally accosting her, getting in her space and demanding that she leave because he's been coming here for 35 years and this is his table. He kept accosting her until she was crying and took her child and moved tables. A few people tried to comfort this poor woman and her little kid. This guy was 1000% in the wrong. But staff didn't do anything. Instead, they walked up to the guy, said hi to him (of course, in a first name basis) and were friendly as anything. But not a word to the woman crying and trying to distract her toddler. Gross. It's not just this one guy either. There are at least a dozen of these "regulars" and Coffee Importers doesn't appear to do anything to stop them from harassing people, and actually seems to be fostering this environment.

There is plenty of parking both in a lot, an extended lot and also the street. You can also take one of the many foot paths to the location as well. There are two ways to order. One sign says pastries and coffee and the other side towards the back or the Marina side says food and beverages. If you only want a coffee with a croissant or cinnamon roll or the delicious biscuits, then step into the pastries and coffee line. If you want breakfast sandwiches or any of the toasts plus coffee and other beverages, then go to the other line. It can get very busy, especially on the weekends after 9 AM. But bring your patience and be nice to everyone. Once you have ordered, step aside. Most likely your drinks will be called out first. It does take time to make freshly prepared food so either take a seat with your number and wait for it to be delivered or listen if it's going to be a to go order for your name It is dog friendly out on the patio. Please make sure to clean up after yourselves as the wind can blow any debris into the marina and we want to make sure everything is clean and safe for our underwater friends. Very cool nautical vibes. They decorate for the holidays. Reasonably priced. Support local. If you're gonna spend 6 to 7 dollars on a pastry or coffee, you should come here. Incredible vibes you could park at the other end of the marina and walk on over for a great scenic walk. My favorite is the iced harbor latte which is like a caramel vanilla latte similar to what I would describe as the golden eagle from Dutch Bros. The biscuits are incredible. I always get them. Stupid me drank the drink and ate the biscuits before I took a picture. Just trust me.
