I spend ~ 1 week per year in Paris for work and Moulin has all the menu items you'd look for in a cafe at European quality level you'd expect without the cigarette smoke...and much better service! But not to be outdone, he unwrapped the chocolate that came with our drinks and drew a heart on the foam of each cup. Honestly? Iconic. Perfectly on theme for our post-Valentine's Day romance revival. Who needs latte art when you have commitment? The staff was warm and welcoming -- no French attitude detected -- and the orange cake? Overpriced mid food to be frank. They have a lovely location and inside they have a cute display of French goodies and pastries, but not worth trying unless you are a sucker for bland French food. I ordered a strawberry jam crepe for $10 and it was alright. The texture of the crepe was there, but hardly any flavor. Variety of items to satisfy any craving. We always make sure to have breakfast here anytime we are in the area. They have a various savory breakfast items as well as sandwiches and sweet deserts. We had the egg and croissant sandwich, omelette with herbs and a couple of baked items. They were all very delicious. The omelette came with a mixed green salad and toast. Raisin danish was on point, just the right amount of sweetness. The croissant wasn't the best I ever had but still very good. Really adorable and delicious bakery and cafe! My partner and I went out for a drive and ended up here. He knows what nurtures my soul....sun and sweets! With that said...my mille fleur was delicious and the price point wasn't bad at all! His flan was enjoyable, but I prefer sweet over just about anything. Everything is baked fresh- you can tell. Recently found out a couple of things that I do not care for. One, that the tips we leave don't necessarily go to the workers at the store. They do a company wide tip pool. A single store tip pool for the day, sure absolutely. But pooled across all locations... not cool. What if one store does an amazing job & the other is doing just so-so? Such a bummer. And two, that they actually throw away all of the uneaten food. I understand wanting to keep items fresh daily but do a 10% off for the last 30min of the day, give it away or something. You enter to displays of imported groceries and glass cases of beautiful and delicious looking pastries plus numerous ready made baguette sandwiches and salads. We were not dining today so sweets were our target. Chose Moulin Cookie-Chocolate and hazelnut. Perfect cookie with a crispy edge and chewy center. Also, the mini Pain Aut Chocolat, again perfect with a great chocolate to pastry ratio. Our one disappointment was the Caneles. Not caramelized at all and too spongy. Possibly due to how long we had it before we ate it. I really wish there was a place even remotely resembling this near where I live because every item looked fabulous and the menu items such as quiche, crepes, and Croque Monsieur are dishes we enjoy. We did a bike ride near this area and stopped by the Moulin in this area. It was my first time stopping by, but I heard great things. I picked up an iced latte and a Le Croissandwich. The iced latte came with a piece of chocolate, which was a nice touch. No syrup or flavoring like vanilla or hazelnut, just straight up latte. It's not too bad not being loaded up with sugar. The Croissandwich was...you know what, not sure what to make of it. I dont think it's prepared fresh. I asked if we could have BOTH ham and bacon, and they said they do not have that option. When the Croissandwich came out, the bottom was incredibly soggy. Maybe from the salad or maybe from microwaving a frozen omelet. But let's get down to what matters most, the taste. It tasted great. Definitely used utensils to avoid making a mess, but it tasted great! The cheese was melty with a good amount of egg and ham. If I wasn't riding my bike back, I would've gone back for their sweet pastries. Maybe next time. It's worth coming back. read more

I think the almond croissant, Le Croissandwich (ham and cheese croissant) and Nutella crepes are all pretty solid choices, but it didn't wow me. As such, I will focus on the one item that did wow me. Chocolate tart - multiple layers of texture with rich chocolate flavor and aroma was my favorite and the nice presentation made it extra appealing . After a 4 mile walk through beautiful Salt Creek Beach we thought we were deserving of a delicious pastry and coffee. Stopped by on a sunny but chilly MLK holiday Monday, all their pastries looked amazing they also have breakfast and delicious looking sandwiches. I settled for an Almond croissant and an iced latte while my BF chose an espresso and a plain croissant. Both were perfectly, flaky and oh so good. Service was great and you can park at Salt Creek Beach or the side streets and just walk over. The location is fabulous and there is plenty of outdoor seating but there is only one table inside and it feels similar to a cafeteria rather than a cafe or French bistro. I'm not sure if the omelettes are pre-made, since I asked for a vegetarian omelette with no eggplant or zucchini and was told it couldn't be done (something about cutting it into slices ...?).
