Great location, right across from the SJC Mission. Service is friendly and attentive. Got the prime flat iron steak, chicken & waffles, and healthy scramble. Decent food. The rosemary focaccia with honey butter was slightly disappointing... neither the rosemary nor the honey flavors really came through. The POG mimosa is good but the popping bobas are unnecessary. The window-side booths offer great views of the Mission...definitely recommend if you can ask for one of these booths. Overall, a nice casual atmosphere and dining experience for the whole family.
We had a wonderful date night dinner at Bloom. Our server Natalie was incredibly warm and welcoming. Food was excellent and dessert (cheesecake) was the cherry on top to finish a lovely dinner.
7/28/26 Located across from our hotel we decided to stop in for dinner. The restaurant has a classy vibe perfect for a date night or business dinner. Seated immediately in a nice booth by the window we ordered drinks after being greeted by our server. Although I was full from my road trip to get here I decided to try a few menu items as they all looked so good. We started with the zucchini flowers which were stuffed and pan fried simply delicious but as good as they were the chicken wings were amazing. They took the flat removed a bone and turned it into a crispy, tasty drumstick. For mains we had the steak frites, filet mignon and the house meatloaf something I'm told they are known for. All were delicious. Dessert consisted of espresso and cheesecake. If ever I'm back in the area I'm coming for more!

We sat by a large open window for brunch, which brought in a nice breeze and a view of the nearby shops. People passed right by our table as we ate, which felt a bit awkward at times. On the other side of the restaurant, there's a view of the Mission San Juan Capistrano. THE FOOD. - Prime 5 oz. Flat Iron Steak & Eggs. Beautifully seared steak, cooked to medium, paired with fried eggs, fingerling potatoes, and heirloom vegetables. A classic hearty breakfast, highly recommend. - Kurobuta Pork Belly Benedict. Poached eggs over a rosemary focaccia muffin with crunchy ham bits sprinkled on top and a side of vegetables. The pork belly was crispy & fatty; perfectly prepared. Loved the champagne béarnaise sauce which was silky and buttery. Another breakfast I'd highly recommend. THE DRINKS. - Four Amigos Spicy Michelada. A bright and zesty cocktail. Perfect for brunch. - Missionary. Similar to an old fashioned. Deeply aromatic and smooth. THE PARKING. Parking can be tricky in the area. The closest option is directly behind the restaurant, but it fills quickly and payment is made through an app (check the signs). THE VERDICT. A relaxing brunch experience with quality ingredients. Making reservations for brunch may not be necessary, but it's the safe thing to do.
We are swordfish connoisseur and this is one of the best swordfish bites that we have had. Also, the fries are hot and delicious. And we're so happy that they gave us hot in the middle of the period from here. You can see the old town on Mission Capistrano. The ambulance's candle lit and romantic

From the Salmon Benedict to their Cheeseburger. The servers were kind and efficient bringing out refills without us having to ask. I had the Salmon Benedict. An excellent choice that came with sautéed veggies and fingerling potatoes. Check them out! It's well worth the food and the ambience.
A local high end bistro and bar that covers all the expected items. The food was good, drinks were good and service was good. The room is sark and moody in a good way with about as many tables as you can pack in. There is nothing wrong with this place but they don't seem to stretch any. Everything is pretty safe and predictable. Which is probably what a lot of people like.
Me and a friend decided to take a day trip out to San Juan Capistrano. After exploring around the mission as well as having drinks at the old town district, we opted to check this place out that was right next to the mission and heritage bbq! We walked in and was sat immediately at a booth next to a nice view of the street side. The guy sitting us was really nice and complimented my shirt lol. Totally forgot to take a picture of the menu but they had a brunch menu served from 11:00am-3:30pm and I opted to get the hangar steak and eggs with the daily affirmations cocktail. The drink came out first and was really refreshing! Next came out the steak and for the price ($24) I thought it was just the right amount of food. The steak itself was cooked medium rare to my liking and it tasted absolutely delicious! I wish there were more bites honestly. Eggs were cooked scrambled and tasted good and the vegetables paired with the steak matched perfect. My friend got the focaccia bread with honey butter with a salad and she said that tasted great as well! Overall this place is awesome. Server was really nice and the hostess packed our leftovers. For both of us it was around $100 for the amount of food and I'd say it was appropriately priced for all that we ate. If you're looking for a bite to eat that's right next to mission, definitely check this place out!
Location is perfect, smack downtown in front of the mission and a few minutes from the train station. I mention train station because I came to SJC via train. The place looks pretty cozy from the outside and it's quite comfortable inside too. Wait staffs are pretty friendly and they know the menu well enough. Not many veggie choices. So we started with the focaccia bread and the only veggie entry Farmer's market veggie. The other people ordered the trout that comes with some cauliflower and potatoes. They are good but not exactly wows
White Shrimp & Chilean Sea Bass Ceviche 10/10 This was so fresh!! I loved the cucumber and cherry tomato in the ceviche. Delicious and the cucumber gave it a slightly firm texture. The grilled hearts of palm with the avocado-lime mousse were perfect together! It all came together nicely. That's a great ceviche! Big fan of this dish! It was very fresh and had lots of flavors going on. It came together so well. The ingredients tasted like good quality. The shrimp tasted like it was just caught lol I think this ceviche would pair nicely with a wine. Service was great. They were friendly. Ambiance was laidback.

The food was delicious, especially the calabrian honey wings served with smoked bleu cheese buttermilk dip and the caprese. And That Vodka Drink was unique, butterfly tea infused vodka, cucumber and lychee! So refreshing!! I would definitely return to try more of the menu.

We've been to a few of their other locations decided to try this out. I'm glad I made a reservation because they were not really taking walk-ins this night. We had a comfortable table, although the restaurant was a little warm until the sun finally went down. Our server was also the bartender who happened to be super cool and very helpful. We opted to start with the Caesar salad and then shared the steak frites. We also had the focaccia bread with the rosemary honey butter. And then we finished off with the blood orange cheesecake. The Caesar salad originally comes with chicken as an entrée salad we asked for that to be admitted. We just wanted to start a salad. The salad was fantastic. The grilled focaccia bread was just OK. We probably wouldn't order that again. The steak was phenomenal. The meat was very tender and flavorful. The fries were crisp and a really good value overall. And it was enough for us to share. I did not care for the blood orange cheesecake. I can normally tolerate orange or citrus flavored food, but I felt this honestly tasted like baby aspirin to me. We took the rest home. Service is fast and efficient. Parking can be a challenge, but there's two municipal lots closer to the tracks. That could be a little difficult for people who might be mobility impaired you might want to drop your guest off at the door and then circle around for parking. We will probably come back.
Came here for lunch on a Saturday after visiting Mission San Juan Capistrano. We were promptly seated and brought water, and our server came around shortly to take our orders. He was delightful, very friendly and helpful with taking our lunch requests. The ambiance was also very pleasant, with a booth table with large open windows overlooking the mission. The food itself was also great. The BLT sandwich was nicely down, with a generous amount of everything on lovely toasted bread, and the dark chocolate chip Belgian waffles were nice and not too sweet with a perfect amount of whipped cream. I also got the All Passion, No Booze mocktail, which was crisp and refreshing, a great balance of mint and passion fruit. Overall a good spot for American-style eats!

We felt special from start to finish! What a great experience at this lovely little location across from the San Juan Mission. Our server Ryan was engaged and helpful. He gave a vibe of wanting to be there as did the busser and the manager! They each made it by our table multiple times. Yes, it was a Monday and not super busy, but it felt like this is the usual way this place is run: well all around. The food was delicious! Each course presented nicely and tasted just as great as they looked! Favorite was probably the sweet & spicy calamari (I'm not a fan of true spicy, but this just had a touch to offset the sweet). Glad we took a chance venturing out tonight. Planning to bring friends next time. So nice to find a place worth showing off! read more

My husband and I visited Bloom for the first time and had a great experience. We were celebrating our anniversary. We were seated at a lovely two top near the window, which I loved. The restaurant has beautiful large windows that open up with a view of the Mission. We started with the Crispy Zuchinni Flowers. This is something I normally would not have ordered, but the manager, Matt, highly recommended them so we decided to try them and they did not disappoint. They were delicious! My husband and I both ordered their market fresh fish, which was Halibut. Fresh and delicious. It had a blood orange sauce that was beautiful and so flavorful. For dessert, we enjoyed the Dark Chocolate Fleur De Sel Cookie Crumble and the Tahitian Vanilla Bean & Blood Orange Cheesecake! OMG....both so good! The manager, Matt, checked on us a couple of times and was super friendly. Our server, Natalie, was also very friendly and attentive! We look forward to coming back! read more

Super cute place. The wedge was good - filled with blue cheese and fresh lettuce. It came chopped though I didn't request that. Had the fried chicken sandwich. Liked it a lot but the cole slaw leaked all over in like a puddle on the bun. Fries were okay - not really hot or crispy enough. Good service. But it is cold if you're near the door. read more
After having plans to visit the Rodeo Market it was too busy to be there and eat. My boyfriend and I walked across the street and found ourselves standing in front of bloom. We were both on the verge of hangry so we decided to give it a try. For a busy Saturday they weren't busy which was nice. We were immediately seated and given a menu. We both ordered drinks which were actually really delicious. I ordered a drink called "daily affirmations" and my boyfriend got a michelada. We then ordered a crispy chicken sandwich and a wagyu beef burger. Both were great and the fries were perfect too. We came here today to celebrate my mom's birthday. When we arrived, we ordered a bottle of Prosecco for the table that came with three juices: guava, orange, and strawberry. The server was attentive in opening the bottle and pouring our glasses. He was also ready to make recommendations for the appetizers. We ordered the cinnamon roll, and the focaccia bread. We devoured both, they were delicious. For the meal, I ordered the BLT sandwich with avocado, and it came with a side of fries. The sandwich was delicious. Lastly, the server brought out an ice cream with cookie crumble for my mom to celebrate her birthday, which was so lovely touch. This was a good spot to check out for a date night! Interior is cute, and food was very tasty. Server was very pleasant as well! The cocktails weren't anything to rave about, but maybe I'll order something different next time. Nothing to rave about exactly, but no complaints either. Would dine again!! read more

Stopped in during OC Restaurant week and we had the pleasure of being served by Noah! Noah was so friendly and excited to learn that it was our first time at Bloom. He gave us the rundown of the OC Restaurant Week menu and also shared the daily specials and his favorite dishes. Noah checked in on us throughout the meal and had such a great vibe. He really made our experience memorable and enjoyable. We ordered: - Wild Caught Chilean Seabass (was not expecting the raisins, and loved it!) - Slow Cooked Prime Beef Short Rib - Tuscan Mixed Greens Salad (loved the goat cheese and hazelnuts) - Dark Chocolate Fleur De Sel Cookie Crumble (such a big portion!) - Tahitian Vanilla Bean & Blood Orange Cheesecake - Pistachio Crumble Great spot and great service! Hi, I loved the blooms Hawaiian swordfish. It was very fresh and the best I've had in a long time. Service was good seated at the window where we could see the old mission walls. Ambience was beautiful. We could see the colorful bar area and it was quiet when we went in early then it filled up. It's a special place. Everybody should go there when they come here But sit by the window so you can see the old mission. read more
What a perfect spot to have Sunday brunch and catch up with great friends! That's exactly what we did! Made a reservation for 4 via Open Table. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Love the open and airy interior of this resto, which is located across from the beautiful Mission SJC. Ordered their Pork Belly Benedict, which was bursting with umami! Kudos for the perfectly poached egg with the yolk flowing like lava when you cut into it...LOL! My husband ordered their Country Fried Hanger Steak, which he enjoyed just as much! 10/10 experience here!! Let's start with the ambiance! This is the cutest coziest restaurant! The open window concept just really amps everything up. I have no words! The bar area was a good size as well. The food...OMG. I had the crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken was soooo juicy and had the perfect crisp on the outside! I have a lot of chicken sandwiches and they never are truly crispy. My sister had the jidori half chicken and she let me have a bite and WOW same so juicy and flavorful. The cooked kale was delicious and flavorful! I will be coming back to get that plate! Make sure you come hungry because the portions are huge! I really enjoyed my drink. I had the chefs specialty drink. I want to try their espresso martini next! Everyone working there was so friendly and very attentive! I highly suggest making a reservation as it gets busy. read more

We had a reservation on the day of the Swallows Day parade. The streets were busy, but inside we were welcomed and seated right away. Our server, Clerisa, was friendly and cheerful throughout the evening. She made suggestions and made our experience. We had the delicious Zucchini Flowers with manchego cheese! Highly recommend. Then 3 of us had steak, we are enjoyed the flavor and tenderness of the meat. The wedge salad was also good and refreshing. Another friend had the chicken and really enjoyed it. I had the bonfire drink and I liked it enough to have 2. We had a great time! The food and service were 5 star! read more

So happy to have stumbled across this restaurant as I came in here specifically for the pate. Seems like not very many restaurants in the local area offer a liver pate anymore unless as an accoutrement for a steakhouse or so. Service was extremely prompt and friendly, I have no complaints with the staff whatsoever. The establishment is clean and relatively dimly lit, great for a date or semi-casual meal w/ friends and family. The pate itself is great! Enough for one person to snack on & certainly enough bread to share. It does have a hint of sweetness- tbh seems unnecessary b/c there's already the sweetness of the apricot preserves on the side (which is delicious btw) Barely touched the mustards b/c it didn't match as a pairing for the rest of the dish imo, but the cornichon (pickles) are nice for chasing down a nice bite of pate. Overall a solid 3.7/5, I would recommend the pate! Definitely fulfilled my craving of needing a good livery snack so I am happy with that :) read more

Bloom is a great for lunch. Especially if you attended church, that is across the street. I recommend the Meatloaf. It is juicy and flavorful. My son loved the waffles. Especially the Créme fraiche. I don't do sweets myself. I tasted it, and it was delicious. The salmon was good, but not great. A little over cooked. The salad that came with it was good. The beers are over priced. A can of beer is 10.50. Nothing on draft. The ambience is nice and casual. You get a nice street view from the windows. Good for people watchers. The service is on point. Very kind, and smiling staff. I will come back again, hopefully for dinner time. read more
