This is such a cool and cozy neighborhood hang out in Dana Point and now that there's a mother's market next-door, they are going to be a lot busier! They have some great beer and snacks and it's a fun meeting place. The employees are so friendly and sweet! I can't wait to come back... every day! I loved the gluten free cauliflower and woofed it down Halden is so awesome and got my order down perfectly. The Brussels sprouts were soooo greasy so I fed them to bf. He's way less picky

Captains Cauliflower was 10/10 I loved it!! Would get again. Flatbread is nice, but probably would share with someone!

I have been in love with this beer house for quite a while now. I come here with my little nieces all the time. They love the open layout, couches, and long tables to do arts and crafts. Their beer and wine list is fantastic. I am usually always here for coffee and food. So, my review is mostly about that. To start, they have an amazing coffee bar. It is just as impressive as the other part. I've done the mocktails and loved those as well. This visit I got a latte. The espresso was ever present in every sip. The temperature was perfect. They did a very good job all around. We order the crispy potstickers every time. I love the ginger ponzu/soy sauce it comes in. The fresh green onions are my favorite part (I'm simple.) They have sesame seeds which makes a huge difference with potstickers. The kids love them so much. We tried the cauliflower this time. They arrived roasted to perfection. It came with an insane cilantro-green goddess dressing. I used the extra sauce for potstickers. I loved everything about this. I prefer the cauliflower over the Brussels sprouts. We also order the chicken wings sometimes. These are the best in the area. So crispy and sauced to perfection. They are spicy but not crazy. If you're sensitive to spice then I would pass or order them dry.

Order at the front, they give you your drink. Food you get a number and they will bring to table. Service was fine. Hugo spritz was amazing. My IPA "can we be friends" was good! Gf had a glass of cab which she loved. We shared an order of donuts which were fire. Ambiance was good. Fires going all around with natural palette.

I'm happy to report that my St. Patrick's weekend visit was truly an outlier! Project Social has once again reminded me why it's one of my favorite local spots. The quality of the burger was absolutely fantastic on this visit: juicy, fatty in the best way, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Easily one of my favorite burgers anywhere in the area. The rest of the experience matched the food with great beer selection, friendly service, and the same relaxed, welcoming vibes that make this place such a standout in town. It's always nice when a revisit reaffirms a best loved spot in the first place. Project Social continues to serve up some of the best bites, beers, and vibes around. Glad to have this place solidly back in my rotation.

This was my first time here. I tried the delicious goat cheese and pear flatbread. It was great. We sat outside on the spacious patio. There were many tables with umbrellas. We had our choice to sit in the sun or the shade. The service was very fast. A group of 8 ladies sat nearby. I was surprised how quickly they got their orders. I forgot to take a picture of my appetizer, but it looked exactly like this.

This spot was awesome. The restaurant was gorgeous and had the social atmosphere that I really look for in a place like this. It is one of those spots that you go up and order at the front and they bring you your food when it is ready which means there isn't a whole lot of server interaction. The drinks were really good and the beer selection was wonderful. The Bloody Mary was amazing. I got the potstickers and the cauliflower and let me tell you the cauliflower was one of the better vegetable dishes I've had in a long time. The only thing I would be weary about is that the tomato soup was just okay, and it had a really strong underlying taste that I wasn't expecting. Other than that, everything was excellent. Would 100% recommend coming here for food and a drink.

This place always is busy, popular local spot to grab a drink. You can see families dining here, as well as people who are "working from home" with their laptops in tow. Lots of drinks selection and their chicken sandwich and burger are my go to. Love having the option of sitting outside or staying indoors.

Such the vibe! My nephew recommended this place and since we were in the neighbourhood, we decided to stop in. We weren't terribly hungry but wanted to have a few appetizers. The way it works is you order at the counter and they take your food to you when it's ready. Everything looks so yummy on the menu. We went with the fig and goat cheese flatbread and the loaded tots. Everything was delectable. They have an indoor outdoor seating area and fire pits.... Such a cozy vibe. As we were leaving I noticed they had churros so I just had to order some to go with some chocolate sauce. Yumm! Can't wait to go back and try more of their food.

This is the second time we've been to project social. The first time was for a birthday party on the patio by the back bar and it was a really nice event--so my husband and I decided to come back for lunch! We're happy with the quality of the food. The restaurant is a rather large facility which resembles more of a rustic loft type vibe. When you walk in you head to the bar--and there's a sign above which shows where to order and pay. They give you a number and bring the food out to your table. There's also a handwashing station near the restrooms--the soda fountain is located there also. We ordered a chicken sandwich, onion rings, and Chinese potstickers. Out of the three, the Chinese potstickers were excellent; crispy on the outside and tossed in a flavorful semi-spicy tangy sauce. The chicken sandwich was very good, but it really needed more flavor, which is why there's four stars as opposed to five. And the onion rings were good, but not as good as The Stand, who has the best onion rings! The staff is very welcoming and friendly. It's a nice place with music playing on the patio, some umbrellas, and shade. We'll definitely be back to try something new!

Dana Burrito & Brown Sugar Latte

Love it here, you order & pay for your food first so you're not waiting around for the check afterwards. Casual vibe, enjoy an ice cold beer or kombucha with the ocean breeze. Coffee & a Dana breakfast burrito is a killer combo. The tater tots are to die for, and don't even get me started on the Brussel sprouts YUM!

I visited Project Social's Dana Point location on a Thursday evening. It wasn't too crowded, but more people did come as we had our meal. I loved the open-space interior & the outdoor seating, with trees decorated in lights to brighten the space at night. I ordered the hobie bowl & my friend got the post script veggie with tater tots. I liked the bowl for the most part, but the chicken was a bit dry. Would visit again in the evening to catch up with friends & try other menu items.

    Cocktail

Absolutely a favorite and a local staple! The service is warm and friendly, the bartenders are great, the food is delicious & the drinks are cold! The fire pits are such a cozy touch - can't recommend this place enough!

    Is the patio dog friendly?

    No!

Do you have a gluten free menu?

    No!

    Do they let dogs in?

Only a few seats in the patio or you sit in the dirt lot in the baking sun.

    Does Project Social serve wine?

    Yes! They sure do Matthew!

Are there outlets near the outside seating?

    Anywhere by a tree.

Do they have vegan options? & do they fry non meat items in the same oils as meat/animal products?

Some things can be made vegan like the brussels and salads. The tomato bisque is vegan! A lot of the service staff is vegan and they can help modify the meal.

    When's happy hour?

I asked if they had happy hour when I was there in January and they said they did not have a happy hour

Do they serve alcoholic beverages besides just beer? Wine, perhaps?

A variety of red and white wines as well as hard kombucha and a rotating cider tap. I think hard seltzer is coming soon so stay tuned!

Are there TVs there to watch a game?

    Yes

Will you guys be adding Prosecco to your menu? I hope so!! We've been here 3 times, and love it! , but I'm a Prosecco person!!?

    They have Prosecco and Cava!

    Is Project Social dog friendly?

I’m surprised, when we were at Project Social they immediately asked people to remove their dogs. They have 4 uncomfortable stools on the sidewalk where you can sit with your dogs.

Is there a number I can call to place an order?

I've check on the website they don't have as well as google, doesn't seem like they have a phone.

Today, on a Saturday at 12-ish, as a family of 4 we were able to get seated right away. Our server was attentive and offered/brought waters right away. We were seated inside which was open and spacious but loud enough to make it family friendly. The tables were far enough a part that you did not feel like you were on top of each other. Next time, we might ask to sit outside so our young boys can watch the cars drive by. We learned that the kitchen is nut free (always double check as this could change), which was amazing since our son has a severe nut allergy. He was so excited to learn this as he can be limited at other places due to cross contamination or the wrong oils. Then when the food came out and it was delicious - it sealed the deal. It is now in the top of our list of places to go. The kids cheeseburger is good size and not a smaller version as some places do. The chicken tenders were panko crusted which was so crunchy. My husband and I shared the smoked carrot and chicken tacos and we enjoyed them both. The beer was also very good with my husband and I each trying a different kind - an IPA and a Pale Ale. We are so glad we finally stopped in and so should you!

One of the things I appreciate most is that the happy hour actually feels like a good deal. Happy hour runs all day on Mondays and Tuesday through Friday from 2pm-6pm, with $10 cocktails, $6 beer and wine, and a few food specials that are worth ordering. We went with the chicken nachos ($10) and the taco special ($10 for two tacos, with mix-and-match options like birria, carnitas, chicken, and sweet potato). Both were surprisingly generous portions for happy hour items. The nachos came loaded with toppings and could easily be shared, while the tacos felt substantial rather than the smaller portions some places serve on their happy hour menu. The space itself fits right in with the River Street vibe. It's casual, lively, and makes for an easy place to hang out with friends after work or spend a relaxed afternoon grabbing a few bites and drinks. The entire marketplace has become a fun destination, and Capo Leisure House is one of the spots helping make it worth the visit. If you're exploring River Street Marketplace for the first time, I'd definitely recommend stopping by during happy hour. Smoky, fresh, crunchy, a little citrusy, and just absolutely delicious! One of my favorite fish tacos I've ever had. We also ordered the chips and salsa but the chips were a little hard and stale. I prefer thinner chips. The service from the young lady was just mid. I came during early dinner hours and would have loved if her personality was more upbeat - at least a smile would do - it would add to the whole experience. Overall, Capo is worth checking out. The food took some time to prepare but it was worth the wait. They served delicious food. And we enjoyed eating it in the patio. I'd definitely come back and order the fish tacos again!

The parking is definitely limited, as I saw from other reviews on Yelp. On a Sunday evening it was very easy, however. The menu is fairly limited, and I wish they had a few more fish options, though the salmon I saw looked absolutely incredible. I had the chicken caesar salad. The chicken was a large portion, and so tasty. The dressing was SO good. They did forget dressing on both of our salads which was kind of annoying for a simple caesar (so we had to get a side of it). That being said, once we did get dressing, I seriously could've drank the stuff it was so yummy. They also scorch their tomatoes in the salad to perfection. I also tried the crispy tuna appetizer, which was surprisingly different from similar versions I have had at sushi restaurants (not in a bad way). The fish was very fresh and I would order this appetizer again. I think it came with five fairly small pieces (just so you know how many to order for a crowd). We decided to try Bistro K as we were in the area and the reviews, pictures and the menu looked good, plus we were in the mood for a good Italian meal. We were greeted at the door by Brittany, who sat us promptly and was actually our waiter. Brittany set the tone for the evening and carried it through to the end. Simply fabulous service and personality. She made us feel not just welcome, but a part of the family. But it wasn't just the service that was so special. We decided to start with a glass of wine. I ordered the Prisoner Red while my wife ordered the Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay. And then the first hint of the forthcoming special culinary experience came. Their Focaccia bread. This bread, with a little cheese on top was supreme. Light, flavorful and the perfect start. We remarked that we could just drink wine and eat focaccia all evening! Next we split a Ceasar salad to start. It was fresh, crisp, with shavings of parmasean and a spot on Ceasar dressing. Next came our main course. I chose the Alaskan Halibut off their specials menu, however, rather than piccata sauce, I chose Brittany's recommendation to have it Alla Checca, with fresh tomatoes and basil. My wife chose the Chicken Piccata, because piccata sauce is a true test of any Italian restaurant. The halibut was perfectly prepared and a generous filet. Maybe the best halibut dish I've ever eaten. The tomato's and basil gave a nice acidic complement to the fish and the juice from the tomato's made the fish tender, flakey and moist. Served with perfectly prepared green beans and potato's. The chicken piccata was simply excellent, with just the right amount of lemon and perfect consistency. The chicken was perfectly pounded out and cooked. Also served with green beans and potato's. At this point, we thought we'd reached the peak, when Brittany brought out a giant slice of coconut cake and two decaf cappuccinos. OMG. This coconut cake should be illegal. To say it was great is an understatement. Light, full of flavor and coconut shavings. Simply phenomenal. Tina, the pastry chef, has it nailed on this cake. If you like coconut, you must try it. A++! If we could give a 6 stars on Yelp, we would. We feel it is under rated at 4.3. We are already planning our next visit to Bistro K, and can hardly wait.
