The service is also good; you can order at the counter and they'll give you a number and bring the food out to you. -1 star though because it's pretty much a sports bar and the live music can be a bit loud sometimes where I can't even hear myself talk, but that's just my preference. Received great hospitality from the owner during the week (I believe his name was Kevin?). He was very attentive to our needs and provided great information about the menu. The Detroit-style pizzas are delicious. Per the owner, they are made with a thick, buttery focaccia crust and take approximately 20 minutes to arrive at the table. The crust was beautifully crispy at the corners, and every piece is a corner piece. I opted for a build your own with pepperoni, red onion, jalapeno, and mushrooms. Super generous amount of cheese and toppings. Note that the jalapenos are thick-cut and fresh, not the pickled variety. The pizzas can be pricey but if you consider each one can be split between 2 people, the price is not bad. We also received complimentary containers of hot honey, which were delicious with the pepperoni. The pizza also reheats well. During my first visit, several cocktails and drinks on tap had caught my eye, and I returned to try the mango seltzer and 313 pizza, which was a work of art! Once again, the pizza blew me away. The Fun Guys pizza was so good--a fantastic mushroom and sausage white pie in deep square form. The fresh parsley was a nice touch. The From the D is basically a classic double pepperoni with those perfect little pepp cups. I'd heard about their cranch, and it totally lives up to the hype. It's just ranch, but somehow it's exactly right. The cranch bacon salad was good pairing to the fun guys. Maybe it's the whole vibe of the place. We were taking a scenic drive back from a weekend in San Diego and on our way through San Clemente we happened upon Gibroni's. We parked easily in their lot and walked in right at 4pm when they were opening the kitchen. They specialize in Detroit Style Pizza which is a favorite of my wife. The menu says a pizza feeds 1-2 people do we each picked a pizza. She's a vegetarian so she went with her usual (cheese) and I had a pepperoni. Pizzas were out piping hot in about 20 minutes. The crusts were cooked perfectly on both and the cheese had that perfect Detroit style crunch on the edges. The pizzas are a nice size (ahout 10"x14"). Having heard from several Detroiters that the style from there leaves much to be desired, I just didn't try it out until now. There is a very good selection of craft beers. We liked this place. Their deep dish pizza is the closest thing I've found to the old Noble Romans Deep Dish Sicilian pizza I remember from Indiana. There's some outdoor seating as well as inside. The back bar area is pretty loud. This is not a fancy sit-down restaurant. You order at the counter, and they deliver the food to your table by number. You'll find Kids playing and screaming while playing some of the games, and people bring their dogs inside. But overall, the pizza was delicious, and that's what I was there for! I asked why it was so expensive and she told me what she rang me up for. After a bit of back and forth, she called to the cook and said "single pepperoni only" in a huffy tone. Instead of putting in the right order and charging me accordingly, she refunded me the $4 tip and walked away. Seemed to be a pretty straight forward order that could've easily been resolved. This place is such a vibe and honestly, the whole little city area around it is worth checking out too. I was visiting from out of town, and my friend recommended this spot because I have a kid but we still wanted to catch up over good food and drinks in a casual atmosphere where my little one could roam around without me constantly whispering, "Use your inside voice." They have a few arcade games that kept him entertained for a bit while we waited for our food (a parenting win is a win). We ordered two pizzas and a small side salad. We probably could've shared one pizza, but we both wanted different styles, and zero regrets were made. Also, let's talk about the ranch, because good pizza deserves good ranch, and they understood the assignment. We sat near the arcade area, which wasn't too crowded. We happened to visit on a day the World Cup was playing, so the bar area started filling up with fans waving Japan flags and bringing the energy. Pretty sure the Netherlands took the win, though. You order at the counter and seat yourself. We shared the following: -from the d ($23): double pepperoni, marinara + parmesan -dry-rubbed chicken wings with buffalo ($17) -beef tallow fries ($6) The pizza was absolute fire. It was the best pizza bite I've had in a long while. The crust was giving Pizza Hut original crust which my very favorite in the whole wide world. We were down in SJC and husband wanted to get lunch somewhere, he looked up pizza and found this place, so we headed over. They have a decent sized parking lot, but I think if they were packed, parking would be difficult. This is a super laid back place with a Detroit themed sports bar vibe. Order food and soft drinks/tea and pay at the counter, they bring the food to you. Order all alcohol at the bar. Our lunch was $30 for the pizza, an iced tea, and two sauces - you pay extra for sauce. We maybe waited 15 minutes for our From the D Pizza, which is double pepperoni, mozzarella, and parmesan. Glad we only got one pizza! These slices are THICK and filling, we were both tapped out after one. The pizza was so cheesy and delicious, we liked that it was served on a cooling rack so the grease dripped off onto the pan below. He ordered Ranch and Parmesan Garlic sauce, I personally didn't need either of them and I wouldn't waste money on sauce again - especially at $2 for each small container. All of their pizzas sound great and when we come back (which I hope we do!) I want to try the The Fun Guys with mushrooms, sausage, and truffle oil. I absolutely LOVE this style of pizza. Thick, doughy slices. Detroit pizza is like Chicago deep dish, but better. I tried a salad, which was so yummy & could've been a meal in itself. I don't remember which it was, but it had bacon, cheese, tomato and onions and their special ranch. It was simple, yet refreshing. We ordered two pizzas. I fell in love with one of them and wasn't a huge fan of the other. The caprice pizza was a 10/10. Fig, prosciutto, blue cheese, balsamic, and arugula. I feel like it didn't need the blue cheese (and I'm usually a fan of blue cheese), but overall it was a really tasty pizza. The pepperoni pizza was more of a miss for me. It was just too salty/heavy on the pepperoni for me. I can see how someone would love it, but they would need to really, really love pepperoni (and salt). Came here after a round of golf with my kids. It was lunch time so I was a little confused on service. During lunch hours you basically just order at the bar. No big deal. Maybe there was a sign but I missed it. Anyhow went to the bar area. Bar tender forgot his name but very nice guy. Ordered pizza and some sodas. The bartender said 4 or 8 cut. I said 8. Anyhow just got a pepperoni pizza. Pizza came out pretty fast. 4 slices not sure what the 8 meant. I was worried it would not be enough but it was. One slice for me was enough but when I was a 300 lb wildabeast I probably could have ate a whole 4 myself. Pizza was good, it's Detroit style so you got to be in a mood for it and I was. Was super busy and loud, definitely a bar feel. I thought since it was crowded the food would be legit, sadly I was wrong. We ordered a pizza and the Opa Greek salad. On a positive note the staff was incredibly warm and kind. My family and I are foodies, my children eat everything, and of course pizza is a staple we all love. Unfortunately the pizza was not good. My son who's 8, even said it was too oily and neither kid finished a slice. My husband and I also got the Greek salad and were pretty surprised when they came with no lettuce. Generally I assume when I'm getting a salad there's lettuce in it so we didn't think to ask. My husband and I asked about it and were told it's traditional Greek. My friend had his 60th birthday here. I had never heard of the place. His favorite band was playing. As a concert venue it's great but super, super loud!! I saw Metallica at the YouTube theater in December and it was about half as loud as this place! You have to go there thinking you will just be listening to the music because it is way too loud to talk to your friends. The Detroit style pizza is good. The crust is par baked earlier in the day. Then topped for the finish bake.... This pizza is getting very popular in California. Naturally, it started in Detroit and they baked it in oil pans from the Ford factory. That is what determined the shape of the crust. The service was great, the place was packed! The workers were slammed but happy! The flavor was absolutely amazing and now I have to make another 2 hour drive for this spot. The service I don't really care for. They don't go above and beyond. We first got in contact with their catering manager about a month or two before and was able to finalize the menu and get recommendations on how much to order for a party of 30!
