This place is awesome! Came in on a Friday night with a group of 9, ordered pizzas and enjoyed the live band! It is kid-friendly, which I loved, but feels sort of like a dive bar at the same time. It was really the best of both worlds. They have a quieter side away from the live music, along with the other side where they have a full bar. Also, pizza was unbelievable. Highly highly recommend coming for the pizza alone! Pretty great spot and we'll definitely be back. read more

Everything was so tasty and fresh, and the service was wonderful. We drove down from Los Angeles to meet my daughter who lives in San Clemente. It was a family gathering with everyone having different tastes, we were happy with their meals, and my POG drink from the bar was delicious. The FIFA World Cup was an added bonus . read more

Probably the best pizza I've had in awhile that doesn't leave me feeling like I scarfed down a cardboard, lol. It did get a tad salty since I've been coming here, but maybe it's just their pepperoni? I'll have to try out their veggie pizza once more. Overall, it's a small, family friendly sports bar that is great for a good deep dish, Detroit style pizza. read more

Ain't no jabronis here! Solid Detroit-style pizza with that cheesy, crunchy bottom and gloriously drippy squares. Flaves come correct. The Fun Guys pizza was so good--a fantastic mushroom and sausage white pie in deep square form. The fresh parsley was a nice touch. The From the D is basically a classic double pepperoni with those perfect little pepp cups. I'd heard about their cranch, and it totally lives up to the hype. It's just ranch, but somehow it's exactly right. The cranch bacon salad was good pairing to the fun guys. Maybe it's the whole vibe of the place. Tucked into a little seaside surfer town, with kids running around, arcade games, soccer blasting on the tvs, teens hanging out, couples on dates, and families gathering together. There's a lively bar, people dancing, and just an overall sense that good times flow here. Oh and of course we ended with dipping dots bc... bc! read more

I've been back to Gibroni's a couple times now. The food here is so delicious and fresh. Our favorite pizzas to order is usually the Fun Guys and Buffalo Chicken. You also cannot skip out on the honey siracha chicken wings!! The service is also good; you can order at the counter and they'll give you a number and bring the food out to you. -1 star though because it's pretty much a sports bar and the live music can be a bit loud sometimes where I can't even hear myself talk, but that's just my preference. I will still choose to dine in because the vibes are just immaculate, but it does get busy sometimes and may be hard to find seating. Overall, my favorite place to get pizza in orange county so far :) read more

It has been a year since we've been back! Love coming up to San Clemente and Gibroni's just makes it worthwhile! This time, it wasn't crazy crowded which was great! Ordered From the D, double pepperoni deep dish...love the crispy pepperonis and crust!! Soooooo good! This time I ordered the Cranch Crunch salad with spring mix and crispy bacon bits! Soooooo good! They also serve a great cabernet! The staff is still friendly, upbeat, and courteous! Love the vibe! Definitely worth checking out! This will be one of my first go tos whenever I come back to San Clemente, which might be a yearly thing! And again...Cako Approves! read more

Ran out of all dow. Couldn't make pizza 10-4-26. Left with nothing Sad to see them run out of all supplies

Gibroni's Pizza is a Detroit-style pizza spot in San Clemente with a lively bar atmosphere and strong weekend energy. Pros: This place has a really good overall vibe half restaurant, half bar which makes it feel more like a night-out spot than just a pizza place. The atmosphere was fun and energetic, especially with live music starting around 7pm on the Saturday I went. Staff were friendly, and the bar side added a nice social element if you're just hanging out with drinks. The pizza itself is a Detroit-style deep dish, and I got the pepperoni with hot honey. The quality was solid cheesy, thick, and filling but a bit more oily than expected. Still, the flavor was good and it felt like a heavy, satisfying meal. The beer selection was also good and paired well with the food. Parking is actually a strong plus here. There's a dedicated lot for customers that's free, which makes things easy if you're able to get a spot. Cons: The biggest downside is the menu structure--you have to order full pizzas only, with no slices or half-and-half options. That makes it harder to try multiple flavors. I wanted to try the mushroom truffle pizza but couldn't without committing to a full pie. Price is also on the higher side at around $26 for four pieces. Verdict: Overall a really solid spot with great vibes, good drinks, and quality pizza. I'd definitely come back, especially to try the mushroom truffle pizza next time. read more

I'm writing to express my disappointment with my recent experience at OC Tavern. Before coming to the establishment, I specifically called ahead because I wanted to watch the Padres game. I wanted to make sure the game would be available and that there wouldn't be any unexpected requirements or charges just to watch it. When I called, the female bartender I spoke with indicated that I would be able to come in and watch the game. Based on that information, I made the trip to OC Tavern expecting to have a straightforward experience. However, when I arrived, I was told by a male employee that I would have to pay in order to watch the game. This was never communicated to me during my phone call, which was the entire reason I called ahead in the first place. What made the situation even more frustrating was the way I was treated when I questioned the charge. Instead of explaining the policy in a professional and respectful manner, the employee was extremely rude and dismissive toward me. I understand that businesses can have cover charges, special event fees, or other policies, and I have no problem paying a reasonable fee when I am informed about it beforehand. My issue is that I specifically called ahead to ask about watching the Padres game, received an answer that led me to believe I could come in, and then was presented with a charge after arriving. The situation was especially disappointing because the establishment was very empty at the time. I was not expecting special treatment or anything unreasonable. I simply wanted to watch the Padres game, and I took the time to call beforehand to make sure that would be possible. If there is a charge to watch certain games, customers should be clearly informed about that policy when they call ahead. More importantly, customers should be treated with basic courtesy when they ask for clarification. Being surprised with an unexpected charge after specifically calling ahead, followed by rude treatment from an employee, is not the type of customer service I would expect from a local establishment. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and reviews what happened. I would strongly encourage OC Tavern to make its policies regarding televised games, cover charges, and special events much clearer to customers, especially when they call ahead to ask. I also hope the staff can be reminded that even when there is a legitimate policy in place, it should be communicated respectfully and professionally. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I left feeling that my time and business were not valued. I hope management can address this situation so that other customers do not experience the same kind of confusion and treatment. read more

Great pizza, but they're not winning the JD Powers & Associates Customer Service of the Year Award. First off, you can't order from the bartender, you have to leave your stuff, then walk up to a different area to order food. Sort of annoying. I ordered a pepperoni pizza, add half sausage. It is a "make your own" for $16...full pepperoni $3...1/2 sausage $1.50. Should have been charged $20.50+ tax Heather G. rang me up for a "From the D" add sausage. Which is baseline $23 pizza with double pepperoni then added $3 for full sausage. Not what i ordered. I added a $4 tip and it was $32. I asked why it was so expensive and she told me what she rang me up for. After a bit of back and forth, she called to the cook and said "single pepperoni only" in a huffy tone. Instead of putting in the right order and charging me accordingly, she refunded me the $4 tip and walked away. Seemed to be a pretty straight forward order that could've easily been resolved. I guess I wonder how many people order a pepperoni pizza + half topping that get double charged... anyone else? read more

Received great hospitality from the owner during the week (I believe his name was Kevin?). He was very attentive to our needs and provided great information about the menu. The Detroit-style pizzas are delicious. Per the owner, they are made with a thick, buttery focaccia crust and take approximately 20 minutes to arrive at the table. The crust was beautifully crispy at the corners, and every piece is a corner piece. I opted for a build your own with pepperoni, red onion, jalapeno, and mushrooms. Super generous amount of cheese and toppings. Note that the jalapenos are thick-cut and fresh, not the pickled variety. The pizzas can be pricey but if you consider each one can be split between 2 people, the price is not bad. We also received complimentary containers of hot honey, which were delicious with the pepperoni. The pizza also reheats well. During my first visit, several cocktails and drinks on tap had caught my eye, and I returned to try the mango seltzer and 313 pizza, which was a work of art! Once again, the pizza blew me away. I enjoyed tasting all three sauces, which are likely used in their pastas. As far as ambiance, quite loud with music and chatter in most areas, as expected of this type of establishment, but there are one or two quieter corners where you can sit if you prefer a quieter environment. read more

We were taking a scenic drive back from a weekend in San Diego and on our way through San Clemente we happened upon Gibroni's. We parked easily in their lot and walked in right at 4pm when they were opening the kitchen. They specialize in Detroit Style Pizza which is a favorite of my wife. The menu says a pizza feeds 1-2 people do we each picked a pizza. She's a vegetarian so she went with her usual (cheese) and I had a pepperoni. Pizzas were out piping hot in about 20 minutes. The crusts were cooked perfectly on both and the cheese had that perfect Detroit style crunch on the edges. The pizzas are a nice size (ahout 10"x14"). We probably could've gotten by with one but we were happy to have the leftovers. read more

The owners have taken excellent advantage of the large space that was Iva Lee's. There is plenty room and elements for all ages. Having heard from several Detroiters that the style from there leaves much to be desired, I just didn't try it out until now. There is a very good selection of craft beers. The Caprice Detroit style pizza with fig, prosciutto, arugula and balsamic on an airy and thick and crispy crust was amazing. There are others on the menu that I will try. Nice job guys. read more

We liked this place. Their deep dish pizza is the closest thing I've found to the old Noble Romans Deep Dish Sicilian pizza I remember from Indiana. There's some outdoor seating as well as inside. The back bar area is pretty loud. This is not a fancy sit-down restaurant. You order at the counter, and they deliver the food to your table by number. You'll find Kids playing and screaming while playing some of the games, and people bring their dogs inside. But overall, the pizza was delicious, and that's what I was there for! I wish this were close enough to me for DoorDash or some type of delivery! read more

Just a great spot to go any time of day, went during the off season for sports also so if yall want a chill good time I'd suggest this place

We were down in SJC and husband wanted to get lunch somewhere, he looked up pizza and found this place, so we headed over. They have a decent sized parking lot, but I think if they were packed, parking would be difficult. This is a super laid back place with a Detroit themed sports bar vibe. Order food and soft drinks/tea and pay at the counter, they bring the food to you. Order all alcohol at the bar. Our lunch was $30 for the pizza, an iced tea, and two sauces - you pay extra for sauce. We maybe waited 15 minutes for our From the D Pizza, which is double pepperoni, mozzarella, and parmesan. Glad we only got one pizza! These slices are THICK and filling, we were both tapped out after one. The pizza was so cheesy and delicious, we liked that it was served on a cooling rack so the grease dripped off onto the pan below. He ordered Ranch and Parmesan Garlic sauce, I personally didn't need either of them and I wouldn't waste money on sauce again - especially at $2 for each small container. All of their pizzas sound great and when we come back (which I hope we do!) I want to try the The Fun Guys with mushrooms, sausage, and truffle oil. Happy we have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! read more

Gibroni's! So good! We happened upon Gibroni's and what a nice surprise. Half of Gibroni's is dedicated bar space with ample seating while the other half is less TV forward. You order at the counter and seat yourself. We shared the following: -from the d ($23): double pepperoni, marinara + parmesan -dry-rubbed chicken wings with buffalo ($17) -beef tallow fries ($6) The pizza was absolute fire. It was the best pizza bite I've had in a long while. The crust was giving Pizza Hut original crust which my very favorite in the whole wide world. Except of course it was much more dense and rich and I loved every bit of it. The double pepperoni was like a reward with each bite - not one but two pepperonis. Of the things we ordered, I didn't love the beef tallow fries. They were sadly overcooked. I loved Gibroni's and I'll absolutely be coming back to eat pizza, watch football, and do all the things. read more

This place is AWESOME!! The staff is sooo nice and helpful. It was poppin when we went. Tons of families enjoying the game on the tvs. Bar offers tons of beer options. We tried the camino pizza sticks. 10/10. Spicy, cheesy, sweet and creamy when paired with their delicious house ranch. The caesar salad was perfect. Decent sized portion and a generous coating of caesar dressing. Literally 10/10. I would 100% recommend this spot. read more

I absolutely LOVE this style of pizza. Thick, doughy slices. Detroit pizza is like Chicago deep dish, but better. I tried a salad, which was so yummy & could've been a meal in itself. I don't remember which it was, but it had bacon, cheese, tomato and onions and their special ranch. It was simple, yet refreshing. We ordered two pizzas. I fell in love with one of them and wasn't a huge fan of the other. The caprice pizza was a 10/10. Fig, prosciutto, blue cheese, balsamic, and arugula. I feel like it didn't need the blue cheese (and I'm usually a fan of blue cheese), but overall it was a really tasty pizza. The pepperoni pizza was more of a miss for me. It was just too salty/heavy on the pepperoni for me. I can see how someone would love it, but they would need to really, really love pepperoni (and salt). That one will be a pass for me next time. read more

Staff: The team here is very nice, especially Heather. She helped us with placing our order and she was so sweet. Quality/Quantity: Wowzer! The pizza here is REALLY good. I'm talking REALLY good. They specialize in Detroit style pizza. What is Detroit style pizza you ask? Check out the picture I posted for a description. The pizza is fresh, very cheesy, sauce very tasty, and cooked beautifully. Value: Pricing was what I'd expect to pay. Our pizza came in at $22. This place is such a vibe and honestly, the whole little city area around it is worth checking out too. I was visiting from out of town, and my friend recommended this spot because I have a kid but we still wanted to catch up over good food and drinks in a casual atmosphere where my little one could roam around without me constantly whispering, "Use your inside voice." They have a few arcade games that kept him entertained for a bit while we waited for our food (a parenting win is a win). We ordered two pizzas and a small side salad. We probably could've shared one pizza, but we both wanted different styles, and zero regrets were made. Also, let's talk about the ranch, because good pizza deserves good ranch, and they understood the assignment. We sat near the arcade area, which wasn't too crowded. We happened to visit on a day the World Cup was playing, so the bar area started filling up with fans waving Japan flags and bringing the energy. Pretty sure the Netherlands took the win, though. If you're looking for a chill spot with dope Detroit-style pizza, good drinks, and a laid-back atmosphere that works for both adults and kids, I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

Dare I say... this may be some of the best pizza I've had. Truly, Gibroni's know what the heck is up. I've had my eye on this place since they were a small shop but they recently expanded into a larger sit-down. The atmosphere is great with TV's, lots of seating, arcade games and more. The guy who took our order was super nice and the food came out QUICK. We ordered The Fun Guys and it did not miss. The sausage with the mushrooms and white sauce was a delicious combination, but the white truffle oil and fresh parsley took it to the next level. My friend had his 60th birthday here. I had never heard of the place. His favorite band was playing. As a concert venue it's great but super, super loud!! I saw Metallica at the YouTube theater in December and it was about half as loud as this place! You have to go there thinking you will just be listening to the music because it is way too loud to talk to your friends. The Detroit style pizza is good. The crust is par baked earlier in the day. Then topped for the finish bake.... This pizza is getting very popular in California. Naturally, it started in Detroit and they baked it in oil pans from the Ford factory. That is what determined the shape of the crust. The service was great, the place was packed! The workers were slammed but happy! I would highly recommend this place for music and pizza, just not for talking unless you use the patio or go when there is no live music. Great place!! read more

My husband and I had our rehearsal lunch at Gibronis and had such a great experience! We first got in contact with their catering manager about a month or two before and was able to finalize the menu and get recommendations on how much to order for a party of 30! Even though it was not the best weather that day, we were able to still get the patio as planned and all squeezed into that space! The pizza was a hit for a group of foodies who were surprised by how great the pizza was! The toppings and variety and crust are all so delicious! We also tried their wings and salads, which were also very good. They are known for the opa salad which is more cucumber based. Was super busy and loud, definitely a bar feel. I thought since it was crowded the food would be legit, sadly I was wrong. We ordered a pizza and the Opa Greek salad. On a positive note the staff was incredibly warm and kind. My family and I are foodies, my children eat everything, and of course pizza is a staple we all love. Unfortunately the pizza was not good. My son who's 8, even said it was too oily and neither kid finished a slice. My husband and I also got the Greek salad and were pretty surprised when they came with no lettuce. Generally I assume when I'm getting a salad there's lettuce in it so we didn't think to ask. My husband and I asked about it and were told it's traditional Greek. I can respect that but it's a pizza joint and I've been to many Greek restaurants and have never had a lettuceless salad. The waitress was a doll and gave us a plate of lettuce to add to it (at no charge). Wasn't in love with the dressing either, it was very acidic but lacked in flavor. read more
