The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the place feel welcoming, and the vibe is solid whether you're out with friends or just grabbing a drink. Unfortunately, the wings were a huge disappointment. They were rock hard and completely flavorless. We ordered boneless first then after being disappointed ordered the bone-in and somehow they were equally bad, dry, tough, and not enjoyable at all. My friends and I frequent this establishment after golf at the Muni. I can only say wonderful things about Blooms. The food is exceptional, the service is attentive and the price is worth it all. Standard local Irish bar with plenty of space, but come with low expectations. For any soccer fans, go elsewhere. They have plenty of TVs but don't care much for futbol. Only Irish place I've ever been to that refused to turn on a Champions League playoff game instead of Sportscenter. Occasional EPL game but only the main network ones. Food: With no competition in the area, there's apparently no motivation to even try. Just stay away from the food. If you must, stick with the basics. Drinks: Good local beer selection but only the very basics from Ireland. Full bar and the mixed drinks are acceptable. Service: Spotty depending on the server but overall pleasant. This place had fantastic food! We were staying nearby for a wedding and came here for lunch. Cool Irish pub near the golf course with indoor and outdoor space, pool tables, sports and board games. I ordered a cadillac margarita, and Paul G. got a Guinness. They knew how to pour a Guinness properly, and my marg was strong, refreshing, and delightful. Our server checked on us often and was very friendly and welcoming. Paul G. ordered the green chili stew and I went with the Irish nachos and a side green salad. When he tried the stew, he told me "you're going to be jealous you didn't order this" (and accidentally finished the rest after I tried it, but I still love him). The stew was fantastic! We were told the chef makes it from scratch every day. It's perfect for a chilly day or just for hearty, warm bar food, and came with tortillas. My nachos were also delicious; potato wedges with corned beef, green onions, cheese sauce and sour cream. Half of the indoor space consisted of pool tables, and the crowd was a mix of golfers, dates, groups of frat-boy types, and was pretty miscellaneous overall. I always love supporting local businesses, and while they were very friendly and accommodating, maybe too much so by letting dogs inside of the restaurant. Especially on a hot day, there was quite a bit of hair flying around the space. The Reuben eggrolls sound delicious but were overly greasy. Bet you never thought you'd see a bride in a dive bar. Blooms Irish Pub is located across the street from San Clemente's wedding venue, La Ventura. Aka the perfect spot for a post-wedding after party. Our group of 20+ stumbled into Blooms after enjoying three hours of an open bar. With cheap beverages and greasy food, this was the perfect place to keep the party going. We ended up sharing multiple orders of their chicken fingers, jalapeño poppers, corn dogs, tater tots, and mozzarella sticks. Each item was 10/10 and did a stellar job of soaking up the alcohol. WE GOT TOOK !!! Went last night to celebrate a friend's birthday for Saint Patty's day. We were very disappointed There was no music, but oh well. When the bill came, it was more than double our expectations and we were not given a receipt, when we asked for one we were told we'd have to wait because it'd be printed out at the bar, after a while are waitress, returned with a receipt that did not even represent our orders. The only thing different is they gave me a little bit more meat but honestly, nothing was different so his excuse that oh it sits under the light on the to go orders it gets a little dry negative Has nothing to do with sitting under a light and if you think that by sitting under a light, it shouldn't be sitting under a light. The waitress should be bringing it out right away once it's packed. Again, the cabbage taste like it's just boiled and regular plain water no herbs or spices the meat as well the meat so dry. I don't understand. It's super easy to cook. You boil everything in one pot. It's not rocket science, but super disappointing especially for that price they charge you All it did was make me wanna come home go to the market buy my own corn, beef and cabbage and potatoes and make it unfortunately, it's just before Christmas so didn't have time yet, but I will just to get that bland taste out of my mouth. Also, as I'm waiting for my food, I could've sworn there's people smoking inside, but they're all smoking out on the patio, which makes no sense because California law is 25 feet from the door which it's not I do OSHA compliant so I know what the rules are and people like me that don't like to be around cigarette smokes It's disgusting but I guess when you're drunk the food taste good anything would taste good if you're drunk, it is a pub after all. I've been here a few times prior to this review. The place has great food! The tater-tots are always crispy! (Good size portion too) The chicken quesadilla rules also. I've had food specials on certain nights, and they were great! Nachos and tacos (I believe it was a Tuesday) The service is always good, regardless of the server. They all work hard and hustle here. You get the attention you need. The beer is cold, and there's a wide variety of choices. I've also never had a problem with seating. Outdoor seating is available, and usually wide open! This place has been a staple for us every time we visit San Clemente. This last weekend we were so disappointed in our dinner. I had corned beef and cabbage-sadly it was flavorless! My friend had the cottage pie (I think that's what it's called) and she felt the same, not very good. Guess we caught them on a bad night being this place has 4 stars because our take out food was really bad. Got the rueben egg rolls as they sounded good. Hardly anything of rueben inside them and very greasy with no flavor. My wife loves shepherd's pie but this one was so watery and without flavor. I got the bacon wrapped meatloaf and it was hard as a shoe, no flavor, and the gravy brown clumps of salty and mashed potatoes watery. Looks like a fun place inside bar wise, but don't think I'd go back for food. ADDING A NOTE: We were contacted by the Mgr. and got a not so nice response back. Blooms Irish Pub is about halfway between HB in the OC and Carlsbad. It is here we decided to meet. We had an easy drive to San Clemente, where the lovely missus arranged to meet sister and hubby. The place had ample parking, and we were very lucky to find a booth. Good service from Megan as we had our Trestles IPAs and Modelos. We ordered Fish and Chips and Bangers and Mash and a dish called Cottage Pie. Yes, when you drive that far to meet for lunch, then you order from the Irish fare section of the menu. We then had good vibes at Blooms as Megan explained the reason for the Thursday rowdiness at the pool tables. A good-sized crowd is having a good time and an ice-cold Guinness. My 2 Bangers on top of a big scoop of mashed potatoes and warm gravy was well presented, but I was missing the green peas. We did enjoy our lunch selections and the happy atmosphere. So for years I've used the OC Tavern to meet up with friends for lunch. It was a great halfway point between San Diego and North OC. For unknown reasons OCT closed their kitchen today. Plan B: Blooms Surprisingly a great place for lunch. Friendly, fast, and almost too affordable. I really like that they handed us a breakfast menu at 11:45 am.
