I came here for lunch for the first time with my mom and sister and had an amazing experience. Kendra was our server, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly attentive, our drinks were always full, her recommendations were spot-on, and she even brought me ranch without me asking (seriously, mind reader). She timed each course perfectly and boxed up our leftovers for us, which was such a nice touch. The food was also to die for and very reasonably priced. For about $100, we got an appetizer, a pepperoni pizza, a half Sting Ray/half Bee Sting pizza, a large salad, two beers, and two fountain drinks. APizza Doho is a cool spot in Dana Point that offers an array of unique pizzas. I was excited to try this place out, after driving by several times. They have a nice-sized restaurant, with TVs to watch various games. They also have a relatively small outdoor patio with heaters for those cooler nights. We started with the simple salad and it wasn't completely simple...it was really good! It had this really delicious spicy ranch, and fresh ground pepper too. I highly recommend it. There are sooo many pizza options, it was really hard to choose from. We went with the Sting Ray...I personally loved the grilled onions, and it also had jalapeños, pepperoni, cheese, and a citrus honey drizzle. It was bursting with flavor. For me personally, I do like the dough a bit thicker, but that is just a personal preference. I also would have loved some fresh Parmesan. But, overall, I'd give this pizza a 9/10 and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying some of there other options too! read more

Located on PCH in stunning Dana Point, Apizza Doho is phenomenal. The photo below is the Bee Sting, it's a NY style slice with pepperoni, hot honey, and burrata. This pie was fantastic and worth several trips. The service was fantastic and the ambiance was that of a crowded spot crammed onto the coast, but it never felt that way. They should do a better job of separating / filling tables. Consistently Delicious with a capital "D" for us! Sussie was amazing serving us as always and it's great to bump into Marcos (one of the owners)! What's awesome is Marcos leads by example.... He's in there delivering food and working hard along with his highly trained staff. Here is a simple example from tonight... many places I go feel like I'm getting in the way of the staff, they will cut in front of me as I walk to the table or restroom acting as if Im invisible but not here... one of the outside servers who could have easily barged by me as I was walking in towards the entrance made sure to allow me to enter first and was so respectful and welcoming as he did! Seems small but I tend to notice those little things that make a place fully customer focused and special! This place's atmosphere is alive on Fridays, so expect high energy fueled by amazing food, great drinks and a caring well trained staff! And we had to drag Reilly with us too! Walking down to the restaurant, you're greeted by some really friendly people, and some even friendlier smells! There's a big ol' pizza oven, and they're churnin' 'em out! The owner was so sweet too; he entertained us with a conversation about the lighting and design of the whole place! Talk about above and beyond! We were told we could order the pizzas half and half, so long as they come with the same sauce! So, we got two pizzas with a total of 4 flavors! Trust us, we did the math! Here they are! The "Original," which is a standard cheese pizza. Very classic, and it was just a good slice! Next to that was the Southwest Swell, which came with some spicy sausage and pineapple! This was a great alternative for those of you who absolutely love Hawaiian pizza. It's just different enough, and interesting enough to say that I'd rather order this over Hawaiian! It truly was California perfection with the beautiful coastal breeze flowing through the store, the fresh homemade pizza being made counter side, and the exceptionally friendly customer service. My entire family loved our visit here. We tried the zucchini chips (a table favorite), the Mia mushroom, and the littleneck and all were absolute winners. It was a nice relaxed clean location and service was great! Everyone is friendly and attentive. The food are all reasonably priced so its great for sharing. The reason why I gave it only 3 stars is because I had to knock off 2 stars for how salty everything was. The food was also exceptionally oily. Now don't get me wrong, i do enjoy foods that are fried but eating this pizza resulted in oil dripping fown my hand and wrist. It was a lot. I like trying things that are unique like their zucchini chips. It is so thinly sliced that you Def get a slight crisp texture with it but it also reminds me of a buttery cracker. The first few bites were good but it was hard to get through, and this was splitting it with one other person. It would be better if was cooked a bit less, so that it still remains yellow instead of turning brown. Maybe it would be good paired with like a lemon garlic aioli sauce. We got the vampire pizza and def had a strong garlic flavor, which i loved. I don't think it needed so much ricotta cheese. It's not bad while the pizza was hot out of the oven but as it cooled down, it wasn't the most fun texture duo to experience. It definitely needed a bit more basil with each bite. Wish they could give some on the side but I didn't ask, so maybe that would be my recommendation. This also was too salty and that might be the cheese choices. Don't know if they can choose different cheeses to help reduce the salty flavor. Overall, not a place I'd come again simply because it was way too salty and oily for my taste. Absolutely amazing -the best pizza we have had. I did not believe the 5 star reviews. Why 5 stars? I'll tell you why- It was fresh, on tender & tasty crust. It doesn't matter what kind of pizza, although we had "Mia" mushroom & arugula. We sat inside & watched the kitchen staff. Wow, they are on top of their game. Next reason is service. Olivia was friendly, upbeat and real. Real hospitality. Our calamari appetizer came late. She recognized ( we asked but did not complain) we needed it before the pizza and said "we took care of this". Wow that's awesome service. We did enjoy the calamari, extra crisp with artichoke & zucchini bits. Again wow!! This restaurant is full and cozy with outdoor seating options and parking up behind. Can't wait to go back. Really yummy NY style pizza spot in South OC. There's an open parking lot and was easily seated during an early Friday night. The arancini is to die for. Lots of different options or pizza sauces. We had the sting ray and ended up adding ricotta to it. Pizza had the perfect amount of crisp and no thick crusts. Service was great. You can order wine by the glass or bottle. We drove down for lunch on my birthday and it was a wonderful experience. Having been to Sally's in New Haven as soon as I saw the name Apizza I checked out their menu and sure enough they are one of the few places that makes a genuine New Haven Style Pie with WHite Sauce with Garlic and Little Neck Clams. My wife loved itt oo the curst was perfection and the SImple Salad was amazing. We will be back for sure. Service was attentive and quick and ambiance was fantastic. ALl th eir pies and pasta dishes looked amazing too! Sorry I couldnt take a photo of it before we got started we were too hungry and it was gone so quick. Big thanks to everyone there!! Stopped by after working out at F45 next door! Thursday evening around 6 PM for a party of 2 was no wait. The service was phenomenal and everyone was super friendly! We went with just your basic pepperoni pizza! Everything was perfect from the pepperoni to the sauce to dough ratio! Crust isn't soggy and holds well! Definitely would come back or order take out! We tried the Hwy 1 (their take on a classic combo pizza) and the Mia mushroom (we added prosciutto for $4, which I highly recommend doing). Both pizzas were absolutely delicious. Before stuffing your face, try the well-balanced harvest salad, complete with crumbled Gorgonzola and chopped dates. After stuffing your face, sample the tiramisu or the banana walnut crumble (or both!). Not much else to say. Pizza is always good, but this pizza is undeniably great. read more
