Excellent pizza, but the flies ruined the dining experience for us. A fly kept landing on my grandma and mom, which didn't let them enjoy their pizza, or flying near the food so everyone at the table had to keep swatting the bug away. That being said, I appreciated the ingredient quality used for the pizza toppings. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. My only improvement would be to make the bottom crust more crisp; only the crust at the end of the pizza slight was a bit crispy. I'd recommend the HWY 1 pizza for anyone who visits here! read more

Really good pizza, and how rare to find a New Haven style in Southern California. The crust was amazing with the perfect char. The pie had a beautiful presentation. Pricing for the size seemed fair. Pizza was filling. And I absolutely love cheese, but I think it should be just a little lighter on the cheese since it felt like a bit too much which made it heavier than the pizza needed to be. That would also prevent the flop making for a stronger structure. That would likely help with the flop too. 10yr didn't finish the kids size pizza which means we had left overs. When it's rained at some point during the day they don't do outside seating which means a longer than normal wait time. Def recommend checking it out though! read more

This place is closer to 4.5 stars but rounding down. Good service except when I ordered their most popular pizza the Hwy 1 which had pepperoni sausage mushrooms peppers and carmelized onions. I asked that they hold the peppers and onions (two toppings) and throw in a little more sausage and they said sausage cost more so I had to pay extra. I said never mind. Didn't like the lack of flexibility but that was about it. The Caesar salad was good and different. Crushed croutons instead of typical ones which was good. Genuinely some of the best food and service i've had, usually not a fan of the infrastructure closer to the beach especially for driving but this was worth it! Susie was a great and funny server who made the menu easy to digest. The Vampire w/ the salami was what we went with and it was great! Finishing off with the tiramisu which was very good as well! Caesar salad had crumbs fine crumbs not croutons I didn't like it and no typical Caesar dressing it was more like a buttermilk recipe. Zucchini chips another original but again sort of too salty. Came here around opening on a Sunday late morning/early afternoon and was seated right away. Restaurant was pretty dead and wasn't full when we left yet either. Which is great! Cuz we love a restaurant with no wait Our server asked if it was our first time and told us that their pizza is New Haven (Connecticut) Style Pizza. I was so excited as I've heard about this style of pizza but never had it. The server told us New Haven pizza is popular for thin, crispy crust that is charred. Yum! The server also told us they only serve large pizzas, but could split the pizza into two flavors as long as the base sauce was the same. My husband and I ended up getting a Caesar salad and a split pizza of Hwy 1 (tomato sauce, fennel sausage, pepperoni, garlic, mushrooms, mozzarella, caramelized onions, peppers, pecorino romano) and Stingray (pepperoni, sweet onions, roasted jalapeños, mozzarella, grana padano, citrus honey). The pizza was delicious! Loved the crispy, charred crust. It's best to eat fast so that the crust is extra crispy. The longer the pizza sits it does lose its crunch a bit. I loved both pizzas and they were both different! Hwy 1 was heavier, meatier, and saltier. Stingray was lighter, sweet, and spicy. Both yummy! And I loved the crushed red pepper powder available on the table. The Caesar salad was also tasty! The breadcrumbs gave it wonderful texture. This salad surprised me as it wasn't a creamy dressing like most Caesar salads. It was thinner and more acidic! I enjoyed it. Overall, terrific pizza! Truly hidden gem. I'm a charcuterie snob. Have to get it if it's on the menu. This one looked great. It didn't disappoint! Chef's board: First, the "pita" bread is actually just triangles pizza dough, which is amazing. Cheeses: it came with a couple small triangles of medium soft cheese, actually couldn't tell exactly what kind (maybe manchego) but very good. The star was a bowl of burrata and olive oil with some basil. Fresh and amazing. Meats: my two favs.... Prosciutto and pepperoni. The difference is the meats are not only super fresh, but sliced so paper thin that they practically melt in your mouth. A dollop of burrata on the dough with some prosciutto is a heavenly bite! It came with honeycomb, figs, olives, and almonds! I even got to try their marinara which was outstanding. I can't wait to try the pizza next visit... I know it will be phenomenal!!! Amazing pizza and such a cute vibe! We have been wanting to try apizza Doho forever and finally went in on a Monday. To our surprise, they have half of bottles of wine, pitchers and a few pizza specials. The waitress was super sweet and gave us great recommendations. We tried the highway 1 and the margarita. They are pretty large at 15 inches so plenty to take home and enjoy the next day. They were super good, great flavor and delicious crust. With the hype for sure! Parking was pretty easy in the back and we got in right away. They get really busy on weekends so try them on a Monday for some specials and great pizza! We will be back for sure! read more

I enjoy cooking and have received many complements on my ceasar salad but I plan to incorporate how Apizza Doho makes theirs, instead of big croutons the garlic croutons are broken down to panko sized bits and spread throughout the salad. The addtion of kale also works well. Cheyenne our server was excellent throughout the entire meal and Steven (I believe GM or owner) was very helpful and gracious when he voluntarily brought out our delayed pizza that had a hole in it and let us know he was having another remade. He also voluntariy altered our bill. He was very amiable regarding the issue and took the initiative to make things right for us. All the food was delicious and both pizzas including the lower carb version with a hole. nice crunchy chewy bubbly crust with a little char in all the right places. Had such a great experience 2 weeks ago we ordered take out for a family birthday celebration. We got two pizzas. The pepperoni pizza was delicious. The "vampire" pizza, which comes without red sauce, was also good but not as flavorful as I expected. The restaurant is located at The Row off PCH in Dana Point. It is casual and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Our waitress was attentive and the service was great. Absolutely worth the hour drive!! We stayed at one of the hotels less than a mile away from this location. We came on a Sunday around 11:40 AM. They had recently opened and already had about 5 tables sat (both inside and outside). The music they plan is perfect background music that is comfortable on the ears without drowning out the sound of the pizza being made or too loud for conversation. Our server was Drew and she was amazing! She explained to us the process of the pizza and the influence of East Coast in their food. I got the Lunch Box which comes with a side salad and 11" pizza of ANY KIND or make your own with 3 toppings. My boyfriend got the meatball sandwich with half potatoes and half Caesar salad. When the salad came out, I had thought they made a mistake giving us a full salad but NOPE! THE PORTIONS ARE GENEROUS! I got the vampire pizza with my lunch box and it is just as good as everyone is raving about. The flavors combine so well, it's not overly garlicky and no one flavor is too potent. I was genuinely pleased and satisfied with this pizza. The meatballs in the sandwich were full of flavor and were not over cooked. The cheese was just enough to cover the meatballs without oozing over the sides. The sauce was partially absorbed by the bread but the bread still had integrity with holding up the whole sandwich. It is a softer sandwich, with a light crisp on top. The potatoes were PERFECTLY crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Our recommendation: ask for a side of their ranch and spicy aïoli. First dip into the aioli then into the ranch. Thank me later Unfortunately we were too full for dessert. However, we will be back to try the Banana Crumble. It sounds like an absolute dream!
