When I placed my order on the phone they said it would be 20 minutes I got there right on time and they said it will be a few more minutes they took my credit card and I paid for it, I ended up waiting another 35 minutes and my food was cold. Meaning it was sitting some where in the back. They hire kids to work there who are rude, not friendly, not helpful. The next day I called to complain and the supposed manager I spoke to just laughed at me. Not to mention it went up in price and the portions are smaller. Not worth it. read more

I ordered the Tagliatelle at the Guichos Camino de Estrella. It was not the best. it was really salty and the Salmon seemed more like it was Lox. I expected better. We get takeout from Guicho's about once a week and are always satisfied with the portions and how hot it is when we get home.

Their fettuccine with shrimp and mushrooms in a delicate sherry Alfredo sauce is delicious. What an amazing little local gem of a place. It is great for takeout. read more

Pregnant woman beware!!! Yesterday, my pregnant sister and I went to Guicho's Eatery (next to Sprouts in South Orange County) for dinner. We shared the Shrimp Alfredo and Meatball Marinara. Unfortunately, a few hours later, we both became very sick -- which was especially scary with my sister being pregnant. I called the restaurant today to let them know, hoping they might at least check the food or kitchen. The girl who answered was polite but just said their kitchen is "super clean" and that it must have been something else we ate. There was no offer to look into it further or even refund the meal. I know these things happen sometimes, but it left us feeling a little dismissed -- especially since pregnant women have to be extra careful with foodborne illness. For those who don't know, the Orange County Health Care Agency does take reports of suspected foodborne illness so they can keep other families safe. read more

Family favorite. We love this place. Food is so consistently delicious. The chopped salad has been a family favorite forever. The shrimp salad is also a favorite of mine, Lemon dressing is delicious as well as their sun dried tomatoes in that. Food pretty good here overall. Definitely more geared for takeout orders, not a whole lot of seating. Sometimes their estimate on how long the food will take is off by a lot which can be frustrating for having food too cold or waiting a long time in store even if you called in the order previously and they told you hold long it would take. The place says take out, but you can dine in too. The food was amazing! Some of the best Italian food I have eaten in a long time. The servers were so helpful and catered to my 3 year old granddaughter limited pallet. Everything is made fresh to order, so you can omit any items you don't want in the dishes. The atmosphere is casual and the stainless steel gives it a cool vibe. We ordered the Cheese Raviolis with basically sauce for the little one and the spaghettini which was wonderfully delicious. I keep driving pass this little Italian cafe. It always smells delicious passing by. So today I stopped in for lunch. It's take out only, but worth it. I got their Mediterranean salad and sausage sandwich. Both were huge and delicious. Could easily split into a meal for two. I would highly recommend Guichos Eatery next time you are in Capistrano Beach. Since the wait could be bit, my recommendation would be to call ahead for your food and take it to Pines Park around the corner for lunch or sundown. read more

Wow. 4 stars? Pasta and meatballs. Easy, right? First, sauce doesn't even taste like tomatoes, it's loaded with onions and that's what it tastes like. Just awful. The meatballs are no better. I can't imagine wanting to find a filler to use cheaper than breadcrumbs...but how about rice? Not good at all. Major disappointment. This place is the best Italian food in south county. The tortellini is always the star of the show for me. The sauce is fantastic if you have a preference for cream sauces like I do. If not, the penne is simple and the marinara is probably the best I've had from anywhere not named L&B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn. My favorite salad is the chopped salad. It's simple but always hits the spot. The wait time is always a guess, especially on the weekends but it's worth it. Staff is always nice even when they're slammed. read more

What a gong show! We've patronized this place a lot over the years and the food is still pretty good but the front staff whom I thought were expediters are awful. An hour and fifteen minutes for one dish?? Tell me!! Don't say it'll be ready at 6 then have me wait another half an hour while giving me their uninformed lip service that it will be 10 minutes every 10 minutes. Even when I asked for an honest answer so I could do something useful instead of watching the other disgruntled customers my now obvious irritation was dismissed without apology. This has happened too many times - the kids at the front giggle with each other while the cooks labor and customers leave. Sorry, last straw, I can't recommend or patronize this place anymore. Save the time and aggravation, eat elsewhere. read more

Went here for the meatball sub. Looked great in the photos and in person. No flavor in the meatballs or sauce. Tasted like I was eating ground beef with wetness. Bread was good and all the texture was good but absolutely no flavor. Sub was 15 bucks as well. read more
