Ordered online to pick up for lunch. The online ordering interface was very user friendly and easy to navigate options/make substitutions. Food was ready when it said it would be! I had to wait in line behind people ordering in order to pick up (food was behind the counter waiting for me in a bag) which sort of defeats the purpose of ordering from home. I would've liked to be able to pick up instead of waiting in line but I also understand the issues of people walking out with your food! The food itself was a good sized portion. I'd relate the taste to how chipotle is in comparison to true authentic Mexican food. It's good but it's not truly authentic Greek cuisine. I'd go here again for lunch! We've been customers since you opened, and last year we noticed this location was starting to go downhill in terms of customer service and food quality. We made a complaint, and for a while we slowly saw some improvement. However, we visited twice again--once last month and again this month--and the customer service was not friendly or accommodating whatsoever. The rice was horrible, tasteless, and overcooked. We asked to pay for additional chipotle and yogurt sauce, and they failed to include it with our meal. Last month we also had a to-go order, and the chicken was overcooked. As I mentioned before, we have patronized the San Diego Luna Grill location, where the food is always outstanding and the service is amazing. Love this place! From the moment I walk into the smiling order taker (Lucia) who helped me find my perfect meal (the macro bowl with salmon), I felt pleased with my choice. This restaurant is great and has been around for a long while--probably because it has a dedicated following and that's due to the fact that the food is always prepared fresh to order and it's tasty! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have outdoor and indoor seating, and a self service beverage area; everything is kept very clean![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are two women (Devani? and) that have helped me many times and both are friendly, knowledgeable& patient when ordering! They try to expedite orders as quickly as possible but it does get busy with take-out orders too so either do the same and order ahead or wait about 10 minutes or so. It's FRESH FOOD not FAST FOOD! I usually order wraps w. gyro meat (beef/lamb) and the ingredients are always fresh and I like the chopped pickles, it's all a flavor bomb in your mouth! Yum. I am beginning to think Luna Grill is sliding down after this meal. It was just...meh. Not terrible, not great, very middle of the road. I know I can do better for what are now cheap eats at $20 a person. Everything is start to taste mass produced, lab made, overly processed. Salad dressing in plastic tear packs? That didn't used to be the case. I clearly remember getting it in cups that were served there, and my feeling is that in the past, this was freshly made dressing. No longer. Falafel...somewhat boring, low seasoned, dull. Hummus...ok but short on tahini, not creamy, just so so. Garlic sauce was good, pita is ok but they forgot to put it in one of our orders, grape leaves were tough. I don't know if Luna Grill has expanded into some kind of larger chain where efficiencies, lower food cost, and mass production are now a priority over hand made items, fresh food, and care going into each and every plate, but it tastes like the latter at this place. I wouldn't order here again. Wasn't the worst but not worth $200+. The garbanzo beans in the Caesar salad were uncooked and incredibly hard, the Kebabs were chard and dry. Rice was good but we didn't pay to just eat rice. The tzatziki was watery not like yogurt, how I usually have it. My feedback, just cook the kebab less. A lot less. My husband and I have been enjoying The Luna Grill Dana Point for several years. Our favorites are flat cut chicken, bonfire shrimp when they have it, (waiting for its return) and the gyros meat. The food is consistently delicious. The chicken is flavorful, tender and juicy. The tajiki, humus and house vinaigrette are just right. I like the modern Greek salad. I have the App and like getting rewards and offers. I would love to see the apple walnut salad with the pomegranate dressing come back. It was so delicious! The staff and managers Divany and Lupita are great. They remember us and are friendly and helpful.
