Went for a to-go dinner tonight and had a great experience! It's an order at the counter style place, and the men serving us (I'm assuming they're the owners?) were SO kind. We waited a little while they served the people in front of us, but they were really helpful and kind to us and our baby. The interior is really fluorescent lit, but don't let it turn you off- the food is good!! I got the gyro & chicken pita wrap- VERY good and all of the ingredients tasted fresh! Such a beautiful beach front spot run by a sweet family. It was so hard to decide between the shawarma and the gyro, they were both so fresh and tasty. Shawarma is usually dry wherever I go but here it was very moist and the gyro portion was amazing. Very quick service and fresh fries and meats. I've been a regular at Adonis Mediterranean Grill for years now and hereby proclaim it's serving the best Gyro Wrap ($14.95) on the west coast. Alex, the owner, is the most likable and friendly guy I've met in years. He handcrafts your wrap with whatever you want...lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, white and red cabbage and extra garlic tzatziki please! You can pick from the huge spits of fresh made gyro meat or white meat chicken. He makes your gyro, then wraps it in foil and heats it up in a Panini press. It's absolutely delicious. You can eat it there or take it to go and the best deal in Laguna Beach as far as I'm concerned. I did not order the fresh made French fries ($4.65) today but I know they taste great so don't be afraid to get those too. This is a solid 5-Star super casual restaurant in downtown Laguna and definitely worth a stop. Important to note that they're CASH ONLY, but they do have an ATM inside for convenience. It personally did not work for me, but I was lucky to find some emergency cash to use instead. Despite being a very busy weekend night, there was practically no line and only a two minute wait for our food as they made it right in front of us. I really enjoyed how fresh the food was made and put a lot of value on that aspect.The workers were VERY nice and welcoming. I ordered the Gyro Wrap and my friend ordered the Gyro Combo. The combo came with the gyro wrap, fries, and a drink. I feared that the wrap would be dry, but it was honestly very tasty and fairly saucy. I would definitely purchase again. The fries that came with the combo were very notable for me due to their flavor. I also personally like my fries very salty, but I know some people do not. Came here twice and planning a third trip to show more of my friends this spot. The first time I had the beef gyro combo and it was so delicious. They pack it with meat and vegetables and a delicious array of pickled items. The fries are also hot and crispy and you get a side of garlic sauce to dip them in. The combo also comes with a beverage. Second time I went, I got the chicken shawarma. After a long day at the beach and dealing with parking in Laguna, this hit the spot so ferociously and healed me of all my stressors that have been building since the morning. The chicken was flavorful and juicy and the sandwich contents were delicious. It can be a little messy to eat since they stuff the sandwich but it's worth any and every drop.
