Salmon, Crab, and 5 Shrimp Fried Rice

Amazing food and great customer service! I I wen t twice in a row! Thai tea is ADDICTIVE

Beef Kaprow

Ok let's keep it a mint. Ordered the beef kaprow, drunken spaghetti and basil fried rice with shrimp and crab. It was all tasty UNTIL we get to the bottom of the rice container, pull up a forkful of rice and....hair (2) - long straight dark hair that does NOT match my purple dreads. So that's the end of that. And my stomach turned.

Thai Orchid's Kitchen is such a gem in the SE community! For a reliable, tasty, filling meal, this is your destination. While I've tried various items on the menu, my wife and I LOVE the Thai Basil fried rice and spring rolls! The portions of the rice are generous and filled with a protein of your choice, peppers, fresh chili, garlic and basil leaves in Thai house sauce. Medium spicy. The Crispy Spring Rolls come in a quantity of 4. They're deep-fried vegetables rolls, served with sweet and sour sauce. All in all this is a solid takeout spot. 5/5 for food and service! Enjoy :)

I usually love supporting my fellow Thai/Lao people. However, this meal was disappointing. Had to do an errand for my job and we were craving Thai food. We found this place was nearby and had fairly decent reviews. The restaurant itself is like almost on a corner by a gas station and a tiny few other shops. We ordered the chicken satay (super dry). Then, we ordered sticky rice but for some reason they gave us the rice that goes with mango. Unfortunately the rice looked and tasted like it was many days old. Like a week old. It was two tiny rolls of it and they charged us $6. We ordered larb and asked for it to not be sour and to be made spicy. It was insanely sour and just made us not hungry. We ended up throwing it out. We ordered drunken noodle but it tasted off too. However, it was the best item we ordered from there. Definitely won't be back

Delicious soup, dumplings, and tilapia basil! Not my favorite place for drunken noodle, but everything else I've tried has been great.

The pumpkin salmon curry is a weekly go-to in this house. (It should be its own food group in my opinion.) Excellent menu variety.

The waiter was also extremely polite and friendly! The energy felt good! I ordered a cocktail called Crazy Mango but I didn't like it. It tasted like regular mango lemonade which is tasty but it wasn't the cocktail I thought based on the name. I did LOVE that they added fresh mango! That was surprising and special! I love when bars have real fruit, I just think the mix was a little off but for the price I get it! Now... the food, OMG nothing short of AMAZING! The Shrimp Pad Thai was SOOOOO flavorful! It's literally my new favorite place to get Thai! Especially if I'm craving Pad Thai! The Chicken Basil Fried was was one of the best I've had in DC! I mean top 5 FOR SURE! It was the perfect amount of spice (even with me asking for it be mild)! The shrimp spring rolls were the freshest I've ever had! The flavors were on point! I loved every dish! Next time I'll try a Martini or Margarita! Thai restaurants usually have the BEST drinks so I'll definitely have to go back to try more drinks and enjoy my favorite dishes! Definitely recommending to every foodie I know! It's PERFECT for a solo dates or first dates!!

The Tuna Avocado was also pretty good, and the Spicy tuna was on the spicier end for me. The fish in the sushi felt good and tasted fresh, but the avocado wasn't the best. Some of the pieces of avocado were a bit hard, and some had a bit of an off taste and a few dark spots, not terrible but definitely could have been fresher. We also had the Katsu Don which was very good! Had a good subtle sweetness and a great katsu breading. Pretty good overall, would return.

I had some late meetings and so lunch didn't happen for me until close to 3pm, which is when I came here. I ducked in here around 3pm, which was probably after the lunch rush and the place was pretty empty except for 2 other people dining. I needed to charge up my phone and the staff here were super nice and put me at a 4 top that had an outlet available, sweet! And since it was quite cold for me (Im from Phoenix), I opted for a miso ramen noodle soup with tofu. Noodle soup was decent, not as good as an authentic Japanese place, but since it was piping hot, it soothed my soul and the boiled egg was very good too! I slurped happily, got my phone charged, staff was very nice and helpful and I was tucked into a cozy, warm place, so I was a super happy and content when I left. Ramen plus tax and tip came to $20, pretty good deal. I'd come back here again to give other dishes a try too.

The food is mostly the expected range of Thai dishes -tom yum, pad krapow, curry, etc- with a handful of less common options like a papaya salad with salted black crabs. Everything we have had was delicious, as well as being a comfortable -but-interesting spice level, so I can't say we have a favorite (yet, give me time). I very much enjoyed the Larb Ped today -essentially Larb Gai, but with ground duck instead of geound chicken- and my partner demolished the drunken noodle. My Thai tea was especially good, both strong and not oversweetened which is often the case elsewhere. We took the mango sticky rice to go. The place was crowded and it's a bit cramped, though the staff manage well despite tight quarters. They're all quite nice and very attentive as well, which is a bonus. Definitely coming back.
