Same with drunken noodles. Papaya salad lao style is one of my favorite here as well, it comes with green beans. Service is always attentive. Only complain I have is when the hours were so dodgy at one point. We'd come here and they are randomly close at hours they are suppose to be open! that happened a few times lol but we got smart and we just call ahead before coming in or call an order in, have to try a handful times because the phone just keeps ringing due to 1 server working most of the time. I've had lunch here several times already and it's always been a good experience. The place is very convenient for me and it's not always super busy during the times I've gone in for lunch so getting seated was easy. I do enjoy their green curry and pad khee mao. Their portion sizes are big enough where you'll have some leftovers if you ordered appetizers as well. I thought the Laos style papaya salad was pretty good. This restaurant popped up on my Ubereats so the husband and I stopped in to try it out. The food was declious and nothing to complain about. We loved every dish and finished everything. Kao piek broth was on point! Plenty of chicken pieces. Broth was still steaming hot when I finished it. Boat noodle was the best I've had in Sac. It's a bit on the sweeter side but still tastier and full of flavors compared to other places I've been to. Pork belly was thin cut and the sauce goes great with it. Only con was I did not get any utensils. I ordered the chicken pad Thai, pad see ew and the Laos style papaya salad. I finally got into Thai Mango today to try it. This is the third Thai restaurant that I am aware of in this space in the last few years and it is by far the best from what I tasted and saw today. The service was also excellent today. I ordered the Thai Basil Fried Rice with pork. She started me off with a nice sized side salad featuring peanut dressing. I was refreshing and yummy. Then the rice came out on a fair sized platter and it looked wonderful! And large also. I requested some chopped Thai chilis in fish sauce and she brought some over immediately. It was so good, but I could only eat 1/3 of what was on my plate and now have dinner tomorrow night for Corina and me. read more

This restaurant location has changed hands and names many times over the last several years. We have always made a point of trying each one out, especially since they are so close to my house! In most cases, our experiences have always been positive! As we entered the establishment, the decor has once again changed, along with a whole new staff. We were greeted in a friendly manner as we took our seats at the same table we had been in the last time we were there. The menu was a little different but had all the nice options remembered from previous encounters. We ordered 3 plates to share: Vegetable Delight with shrimp, Eggplant with fried tofu, and fried catfish. For dessert we wanted mango with sweet rice. Everything was prepared made to order. The dishes were all very flavorful and I enjoyed each one! There was so much food, that we were able to take left overs home for a second meal the next day. The only disappointment was, that when we got our bill, they left off the dessert, so I knew we weren't getting any. We didn't say anything before we left, until the waitress came back to apologize for forgetting. But we were pleasantly full and stated that we would try again the next time! read more

Negatives: Do not go here if you're in a hurry. They took more than 20 minutes to give us water. Service was pretty bad here. They are not really attentive because they practically only have one server servicing the entire restaurant in a Friday night. They have a different person that sort of helps with bringing out food and that's pretty much their job; which is odd because she could help her coworker with bringing out and refilling the water, take plates away, clean tables, ect.... we didn't start eating until 30 mins after we sat down. We were the only new customer that came in that haven't gotten our food but it still took them a while. Then a random rush hour traffic of customers rolled in and the service that was already slow to begin with got even slower. The owner came up to the table and apologized for the slow service. Positives: Mango sticky rice = 5/5 beef pad sew ew = 5/5 Chicken cashew in chili sauce = 5/5 Kapoon = 2/5 Papaya combo platter = 5/5 Best mango sticky rice that ever touched my lips! It was so warm, moist, sweet and just plain heavenly. Chicken cashew had a ton of onion and carrots. 80% of plate was filled with them. Kapoon lacked a lot of flavor; we took only 4 bites a left it alone. Everything else was excellent. Leaving the plaza can be a struggle; especially if you're trying to turn left and onto the freeway 99 south. Traffic is crazy and there's a lot of reckless drivers in this area. Gave this place a try because I love Thai food and also, why not? Ordered a pineapple fried rice and the appetizer sampler to go. It was enough for 2-3 people. I thought the price for the portion sizes were great! The appetizer sampler came with egg rolls, chicken skewers, fish cakes, fried tofu, and butterfly shrimp along with 3 different dipping sauces. If my memory serves me well, it was all for the price of $18. I ordered through uber eats so it might be cheaper if you order directly from the restaurant. But I still thought it was worth it and none of the items tasted bad. Omgg and the thing I loved about this place compared to the other Thai restaurants I've had in sac/ elk grove is that their food comes in the bigger to go containers. The styrofoam ones, not the small plastic black ones. I mean not so good for the environment, but you get a bigger portion. The pineapple fried rice was good. I have yet to try a really bad pineapple fried rice. Oh and can you believe they use real pineapples?? Usually it comes with the canned ones. And I could tell they were from the actual fruit because some were either bland or sour hehe. No matter to me though because I'd rather have that than the syrup drenched pineapples. 4.5 stars Came here post Mothers Day hike yesterday specifically for some kaopoon. Most places on the way going South from Independance Trail (amazing novice hike) in Nevada City like Auburn, Arden, Elk Grove either dont have kaopoon or they all closed by 7pm on Sunday. Not sure if thats special Mothers Day hours or the regular Sunday hours. Regardless, it's a good idea to call the place you want to visit, even if its says they are open on Yelp. Glad we found this relatively new and clean gem, that's been open since Feb 2019, about 3 months, and since 11am that morning. They are still clean and shiny, except the bathrooms which are not redone and look slightly scary. Most places closed at 7 that day, whereas Thai Mango closed at 9pm. I was pleasantly surprised to see the happy yellow cushions, shiny goldish elephants, orange and bronze elephant table covers, black industrial hanging lamps, Thai pillows (for patrons whom need more butt-cushions on the wood bench seats), colorful sticky rice baskets (always so cute), colorful bright apron on the waitstaffs hips. This place had about 12 tables, decent for casual dates, family meals, and parties too. Better than the place, was the very patient waitstaff. Post hike, I admittedly was demanding on my kaopoon specificities (more creamy vs spicy). With our group of 6 kids ages 6-14, we seemed to need extra napkins, water, sticky rice as the night wore on. But regardless of the mishaps, black hair in my green Thai tea which wasnt mine, she handled us with ease, submission, and desire to please. We even got free sticky rice and drinks when she seen the hair. And us Moms even got free drinks regardless for Moms day! Whoop whoop! Now on to the food... The GREEN TEA THAI TEA was sweet just like she said. I enjoy more bitter tea vs sweet, but she foretold me it was sweet and she was right. It tasted more cream and sugar, which is not my steez. Ended up giving it to my child, whom loves sweet anything. Glad it was free. 3.5/5 stars. The THAI COFFEE is cut with half and half and some sweetener and was really good! It came in a Mason like jar, had a colorful blue metal pipe cleaner on it and was strong. Hubby and I both liked it. 5/5 stars. The PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE came plentiful and was tasty. I ate a spoonful of the rice with a sliver of onion and was very pleased with the flavor. Decent portions and would be great served family style. Next time maybe I'll have it with my fave dish basil eggplant. 5/5 stars. The STEAK SALAD which was supposed to be served rare/raw was fully cooked and Hubbs didnt appreciate that. I had a bite and the flavor was good though. Portions was a little small. 4/5 stars. Sister had the CHICHEN LAAB salad. Didnt get a taste but the LO ate it all but didnt eat the cucumber. Not many kids eat green raw things though. She didnt complain so it must have been good. 5/5 stars. The double brothers had the BOAT NOODLE SOUP. This was a little confusing cuz I have had a taste of this and it tasted totally different the last time I had it at a different place. Different Laos regions perhaps cook differently? I expected an amazing dish considering the waitstaff said this was their favorite dish here. The chicharon looked pretty cool, and their large portion was more like a medium from way back in the 90's pho days, but the good part was the dish was enjoyed by the little ones. Something to note, the pho broth is exactly the same as the boat noodle broth and it was slightly spicy. I wont get this dish for myself, its just not the broth I enjoy. But the two enjoyed and finished it and that matters most. 4/5 stars. I had the KAOPOON. I specifically requested mild, and more cream. It was a decent size for the $8 tag. Some downs were it was loaded with some serial spice and I drank so much water, it was a lil difficult to enjoy. Some downs, I asked for more cream on the side to help cut the spice and she gave it sweetly. I asked for more veggies, like cabbage and beans sprouts and she didnt mind and I dont think they charged. I also noticed there was barely any chicken in my soup which there were more. There was also tons of noodles. There wasn't any quail eggs which are actually my fave so that was a bummer. The taste though was very very good. I will fa shozy get this again and again as long as they get my mild right. 4.75/5 stars. All in all, I really enjoyed my time and the $50 tag for my bill to feed 3 kids and 2 adults wasnt bad. I will def come back to try the basil eggplant, the currys, the duck noodle soup, try the kaopoon again, and the Laos sausage again which was actually pretty bomb. Among desserts, they have 2 different mango with sticky rice I want to try. The regular one and also a taro flavored one which sounds really really good that I havent heard of or tasted before in all my Thai food foodie adventures. Both were really good but the Tum khaopoon was a bit fishy for our taste. They use the crab paste so it makes it super fishy tasting, including the smell. The papaya sampler was delicious. The fried chicken (came with 3) was...omg. I'd ordered that again in a heart beat! Our waitress (the only one working there) was super nice and she gave us a vase filled with water when my boyfriend requested for a refill. Lol Overall, I like this new vamped up menu and style a lot better than Thaicoon. Whoever is the new chef, or the old chef, they improved a lot. Everything was delicious! The food was amazing and so was the service. We had the avocado curry, Thai basil rice, and Thai ginger stir fry. Everything was fresh and delicious. We were so grateful since they were about to close to prep for dinner. But they still seated us and did not rush us out. Our server was so sweet. This was a treat to sit and relax as we were decompressing from being at the hospital for hours with my sister. They had no idea that they provided more than food. I ordered for delivery and had the pad thai, nem kao (crispy rice salad), and pork rib appetizer. Flavors were great but the portions were a bit on the smaller side. However, I also appreciated that the prices were not as inflated on the delivery apps as other restaurants. Based on this experience, I would check out some of their other dishes in the future. First timer here. Took a chance on this place after reading reviews from some unsatisfied DoorDash customers. Ordered the nem kao and ancient pad thai. Both were good! The nem kao was still crisp and wasn't soggy like a previous reviewer said. It probably would've been crispier if we weren't sheltering in place and you could eat it at the restaurant, but it was crisp enough considering it was steaming in a styrofoam container during delivery. I wasn't a fan of having warm lettuce with it, but that's what happens when you're getting it to go. Ancient pad thai was a generous portion. It's different and not sweet like most restaurants have it. This one is more savory with the dried shrimp. Menu description said it comes with cilantro, but mine came with a tiny amount - like 2 cilantro leaves. No big deal, it's probably just a garnish, but just an FYI for cilantro fans if that changes your decision. I'd order from them again. read more

We decided to order delivery from Thai Mango upon moving into the Sacramento/Elk Grove area. We were super stoked to find a local Asian/Vegan place that turned out to be a great find! Very disappointed. I ordered lunch online for a staff meeting. I called the restaurant before placing my order to ask if lunch specials came with rice, which they confirmed. I placed my order @ 11:30am and sent my staff there at 11:50am. The restaurant then calls me and tells me they are not serving the lunch specials- but wait she needs to double check the kitchen. Our order was already being prepped- never mind. 10 minutes later my staff calls and says they do not have the pork belly so we switched to the spareribs. She did not get the food until 12:35pm. Then we find out the restaurant has forgotten two items. Very annoyed, I called and whoever picked up says they are sure they put all items in the bag- tell that to my hungry staff- JK, its me because of course I gave my lunch away. Then they can't issue a refund and I need to call Grabbull, which I did and am writing this review, very hangrily. I ordered from here via Uber Eats. My favorite Thai place closed recently so I decided to try a place close to my new house. The food arrived a bit early and hot. It was securely packaged. Beyond that I was disappointed. The portions were ok a bit stingy like Thai food often is. The food was not good. It lacked flavor, depth and texture. The sauces seemed almost watered down. I ordered red curry chicken and egg rolls this afternoon and requested they deliver at 5:30 pm. They knocked on door at exactly that time. The red curry was great and just a little spicy with lots of fresh ingredients. The egg roll order came with four egg rolls that were really crispy and delicious. This place has changed management a few times and I really hope this one stays open because their food is better than the last two restaurants and the service is great. The first time we tried this place, I ordered to go. My sister was pregnant at the time and the lady was so nice to offer my sister some Thai tea while waiting. That was so thoughtful of her. We ordered papaya salad party platter, drunken noodle, and yellow curry. The papaya was the Laos style, but just a little salty for my preference but still edible. The yellow curry was absolutely amazing! Rich and full of flavor. The drunken noodle wasn't the best. Lacked flavor and the basil aroma that I care for. The second time I came here, I dined in and the service was great as well. We ordered the crispy pork ribs which was good, but I didn't care too much for the sauce that came with it. The yellow curry was still on point and now, that is my go to order!
