Found on Yelp; since it was only ~5 minutes from the office I figured I'd give 'em a try for lunch. The place was packed, but I was able to get one of the last open tables. Ordered my drink and it came promptly with a small salad. Ordered my meal and it came as I was finishing the salad. This was FAST food, but not fast food. Super fast service, but tasted fresh. Could have used a little more heat (I always order "Thai Hot"). Next time when they ask me "1-5?" I'll tell 'em to bring me an 8. That usually does the trick! :) read more

Came in for lunch on a Wednesday after reading the reviews on Yelp Place was pretty busy. We're greeted with a veggie egg roll on the House when we were seated. All of us enjoyed our meals - from pad Thai to the duck noodle lunch special to another noodle dish Happy that we stopped by. Good service and food with reasonable prices read more

Good service and food. Had the mango chicken and rice. Enough food to share for 2. Mango Chicken is awesome.

Had the pleasure of dining here for lunch last week on a visit to New Jersey. It was my mother-in-laws wish to eat there so we did. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and they have an outdoor area for us, COVID scaredy cats, to enjoy a meal with the fresh air blowing. I started off with Thai iced tea. A refreshing start to a wonderful meal. I chose from the Chefs Lunch Special the SP 4. Prik Khing (one elephant spiciness) at $11.95. The meal started with a salad topped with a delicious peanut dressing. It didnt last long on my plate as the combination of vegetables and the slight sweetness of the peanut dressing made for a wonderful marriage of flavors in my mouth. The entree followed served with white rice. I must say, this is my favorite dish in any Thai restaurant and the flavors were just incredible. It did not disappoint! Just the right amount of spiciness and vegetables sautéed to just the right consistency and complimented by the white rice. I was in heaven! We did not have dessert because we were very full but perhaps on my next visit. I do plan on returning here again for a meal. And my mother-in-law was spot on about this place. Food was so `ono! read more

Really excellent food and a fantastic staff. They are very quick with your order and the food is always fantastic. Pickup is very good too. Absolutely love this place and always looking forward to going back. read more

Best Thai food in the state of NJ. This will turn into your favorite Thai restaurant as well once you eat here. My gf is from New York, and this is her favorite Thai place. This place is always packed because it's so good. I've never had to wait for a table so the service is excellent. Atmosphere- a little dark, but even when it is crowded you can have a conversation. The staff is on point with filling the water and taking our order. The waitress always comes when my glass of water was empty. Definitely enjoy the staff here. Food- we ordered Satae chicken on a stick with sauces ( peanut butter and another). This was a mouth watering appetizer that is a must have. For our meal we ordered a Pad Thai chicken and steak with level 3 spice. They actually tell you to get a lower level because you can always add spice. Like I said this food is delicious. I had enough for leftovers the next day and I'm a big guy. They give good portions. Price- pad Thai 10 dollars Chicken Satae 9 dollars The best Inexpensive authentic Thai food around. Hope you enjoy! read more

Very good food, and our go-to Thai place. Terrific curries and pad Thais, and the Tom Ka Gai soup is excellent. As a hot spice fan, the "five elephants" hotness is pretty good, yet not so overbearing you can't eat it. The restaurant goes down to one elephant in hotness, which - unless you get a curry - is absolutely mild. If you get a curry, it comes at one elephant at the lowest, and if you have a zero-tolerance heat eater, get a different dish, such as a Pad Thai. They are excellent, however. Thai Kitchen has switched to take-out only in the cold weather, and when it was warmer in the fall had quite a sizable outdoor dining area. read more

Mother daughter lunch here is a familiar family pastime that I don't get to do often enough now that I live in New York. A few hours ago, my mom claimed that she doesn't eat out much anymore - the lie detector determined that was a lie. Also confirmed by a waitress's reflexive response: "no takeout today Mandy?!" as we were seated. When we're here, pad Thai, pad see ew, pad kee mao, red/green curry, lard na, and tom yum seafood noodle soup are the dishes that have made our usual rotation. All are tasty but red curry with chicken and lard na made the cut today. Fair warning, lard na is a broad noodle dish that's drowned in a cornstarchy sauce that it's almost a soup. Or as sophisticated people like to call it - a saup. At $8 lunch entrees with a piping hot spring roll thrown in at the start to amuse your bouche, you can't dislike this place. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Ordered a tom yum koong which was awful. Might as well have been called bell pepper soup, an ingredient that is not supposed to be included in this soup. They didn't even bother asking why I didn't eat the soup even though it was obvious I wasn't touching it. When they went to clear the plates and bring the check, had no problem including it. They just lost a regular customer. read more

I expected Thai Kitchen to be average thai food, but I'm amazed at how wrong I was. The portions are very large and plentiful. The prices are very low too! I have become a regular there and just love their pad thai and green curry. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a bite in the bridgewater area! read more

Extremely poor quality. This was probably the worst Thai I have had in the 20 states I have been and in Thailand. It has no flavor, it was undercooked, it was without any bite, the Thai basil had no impact at all. It tasted like I was eating liquified cardboard. Terrible experience. On top of that the next day I woke up with food poisoning because their meat was definitely undercooked. Avoid at all costs if your health and taste buds are important to you read more

This is best Thai restaurant in whole NJ in my opinion. There Pad thai with chili paste always hits the spot!!

Went for lunch. Nice tented area and heaters for outdoor dining. Enjoyed the small complimentary salad with peanut dressing. Was surprised to hear the our request to substitute peppers with string beans came with a upcharge. First time we have ever encountered an upcharge charge at a Thai restaurant. Our meals were served steaming hot and maybe 5 minutes from placing our order! Food was delicious. Staff was masked, very efficient and very polite. read more

I have been coming to this place for last 15 years, and I have always noticed that they want you to eat and get the HELL out. Their spicy fried rice surprised me, it's very yum! I ordered it with three level spicy, however I can't taste any spicy at all, so I think next time I can try five level :) My husband ordered pad see ew which was delicious, too! Anyway we shall come back next time to try other dishes! read more

Had a great lunch! Beautiful covered outside dining! The food was delicious and the service was excellent!

Went there today for the first time after reading all the good reviews. I have had Thai all my life and I honestly cannot understand why this place has so may 5-star reviews. Yes the place is clean and pleasant. The service is prompt. The food was brought our incredibly fast. But..... the quality of food was not there. The few dishes we tried tasted washed down. I ordered their lard nar, and it was too sweet. My wife did not finish her meal. The food was not bright - not bursting with flavor. Don't get me wrong. If you are a newbie to Thai food, or like mild, washed down flavors, then by all means go there. If there is a large group you want/need to entertain, then go there. If you are a foodie and loooove Thai food.... pass on this. read more

This place has been my favorite Thai spot for many years! Unfortunately as a vegetarian I didn't know they use the same deep fryer for their meat and tofu. Also, the curries and soups are all cooked in chicken broth. I was very disappointed to find this out. They still have the best Thai food I've ever had. I just wish they'd get with the changing times and at least have a vegetarian soup and curry option. read more

Love this place! My NJ go to Thai restaurant. Affordable and delicious. I can recommend the pad see yee an yellow curry. I have been told that their pad Thai wasn't flavorful enough, but I can't say for sure. I usually order take out and it only takes 10 minutes! Good portions great for sharing! read more

I am not understanding the rave reviews. I'm a huge fan of Thai (more Thai places are reviewed than anything else with my reviewers) but this place was just good and did not blow me away. Tom Yum Soup- B- (flavor was okay) Thai Iced Tea B ( a little too watery) Pad Thai- B (also just okay, didn't have much to it, the pad thai sauce was missing entirely and it was very dry) Pad Kee Mow- B+ (this had enough flavor but a weird after taste -like it was at the bottom of a pan) Red Curry- A- the taste was great but the shrimp in it was extremely chewy and not fresh at all. A few friends commented similarly from the shrimp in their dishes. MAYBE it was because near closing time on a Sunday, but I did not love the food here. read more

The food was served quickly, and was piping hot! They took my team's reservation in advance and we were seated right away. I ordered the Pad Ba Mee with chicken, no veggies, level 1 spice. It was still pretty spicy, but still good. I like this meal because I don't really like Thai food, but it has a lo-mein type of noodle and has a great tasting brown sauce, and not the typical peanut or curry sauce that is on most Thai dishes. The meal was served w/ an egg roll as well. Quick service! read more

It still quite boggles my mind how Thai Kitchen remains to be one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to. Usually as a general rule in Northern/Central Jersey, the closer you are to NYC, the better restaurants you will find. but Thai Kitchen defiantly dismisses this adage. I have yet to find a Thai restaurant in Jersey that can match up to the quality and execution of Thai Kitchen. Topaz in Bloomfield as well and Thai House Rock in Colonia are the closest thing to competition to Thai Kitchen, but this restaurant still soars above the others. When in comes to flavors and dining experience, Thai Kitchen even manages to compete with the elite Thai restaurants in NYC. Recommended Dishes: Pad Nor Mai (Spicy Duck), Pad Thai (One of the best I've ever had),and Gang Dang (awesome red curry). They also have this fried fish with some sort of tamarind sauce that was just absolutely delicious, but I can't quite remember its name. Bottom Line: There are multiple Thai Kitchen locations and they are all equal as good. Best Thai food in Jersey hands down. Doing work indeed. read more

Hands-down the best Thai food I've had in the Tri-State area (shocked the heck out of me because I sure wasn't expecting this much from a plaza-spot Thai restaurant). The server was nice, but we definitely felt rushed - to order appetizer/entree, to eat, to order dessert, eat dessert and then to leave. They still had some tables available so I'm not sure what all that rushing was about. The food comes out wickedly fast when you order, probably within 5 minutes. We ordered the following dishes (and I'd basically order 'em all again): Dish Grade - Dish Name (Description) A - Nurr Nam Toak (Sliced charcoal steak seasoned with crispy crushed rice, scallions, red onions, bell peppers, lemon juice and chili paste served on a bed of lettuce) A++ - Chicken Pad Thai (Stir fried thin Thai rice noodles with eggs, chopped peanuts, bean curd and bean sprouts, served with raw bean sprouts and lemon) A - Tofu Pad See Eue (Stir fried broad rice noodles with chinese broccoli and soy sauce) A++ - Squid In Love (Sauteed squid, shrimp and chicken with bell peppers, scallions, and mushrooms with chef's special sauce) A+ - Mango Sticky Rice Prices were really good. We shared the above for 3 people and we were overly stuffed. I think we could've done without the Tofu Pad See Eue if we were to choose everything again as it was a tad on the oily side. They looked closed from the outside, but they're just a dimly lit restaurant. Great Thai gem in NJ. read more

Really REALLY good pad thai. I've longed to try this place out ever since I read my cousin's excited review about it months ago. And now that I've finally decided to take the trip all the way down here, I regret not doing so sooner! It looks like a hole in the wall on the outside, but the interior is the complete opposite. It was SO nice inside. I tried the duck salad which was pretty good and the curry puff was alright, but the pad thai was freaking awesome. I'm so coming back to try the other dishes I've been missing out on. Note: wait staff was super nice, but too many of them were standing around watching us eat (at the time we were the only people there start of Friday night dinner). It felt kind of... weird. But being "too hospitable" isn't really anything to complain about. read more

We love this Thai Kitchen restaurant. We've been eating there for years! The food is delicious and fresh, and they will tailor to your taste. We're vegan and therefore request that they omit any butter or fish sauce. Food is always delivered in a couple of minutes. The staff is friendly and attentive. If you're a repeat customer Sun, the hostess, will learn your name. We've ordered during the Coronavirus period as we want them to remain open!! read more

Yes they are authentic and delicious but they are not a hidden treasure anymore. Hence you see Thai Kitchen II. For weekend dining, definitely make reservation it else be ready for a 30min wait for walk ins if you've never been there before like us or 20 mins for people they know. Interesting system. Don't even think they need to take reservation - they should be able to fill in table faster from walk ins. They know the regular by names... Mark, John etc etc and even the names of the kids. Clienteles are interestingly enough of western descent. They are good but not sure if we will be one of those regulars. The pork larb is a good salad starter. Pad kee Mao is pretty good. Greasy but very flavorful. The curry is just standard. The potato is undercooked in my opinion. read more

Super fun place - little gem in a mall - tell them it's a birthday celebration. Found this place on Wednesday night and when you walk up, looks like it's closed, but that's only due to the lighting - but step in and you're likely to find a very lively atmosphere. Bring alcohol (no beer/wine) and try a few it me and you MUST tell them you're there for a birthday. You will not be disappointed, the birthday celebration alone makes the place a worthwhile stop. read more

Very good Thai food and reasonably fast service, despite the massive Friday lunch crowd. We got one pad Thai with beef, one pad Thai with tofu, and one green curry with tofu. We ordered two dishes extra spicy- an eight on a scale of one to five! It didn't taste that spicy to me, but my Co-worker said it was. Waitress was very friendly and a great sense of humor. Lunch specials are competitively priced and come with a free spring roll. We will be back again. read more

Over the past 8 years, I have had literally hundreds of meals from Thai Kitchen - 80% take-out and 20% dine-in. During this time, I have NEVER had a bad meal - I have never even had a "not-so-great" meal. Used to go with a huge group at lunch - even 12 of us could be in and out in under an hour during a busy Friday lunch, and everyone was raving about their entree. Lunch portions are the perfect size, piping hot, great presentation and fresh as can be. My usual order is the Chicken Gang Dang - red curry with coconut milk, with a special request to leave out the bell peppers and substitute broccoli. The spice rating (0-5) is spot on - I have never had a meal spicier than I could handle and even a zero star rating is still loaded with wonderful, layered flavors. The service is just delightful as well. Despite the fact that I don't go as often as i used to (only once every few weeks when I go to my chiropractor in the same shopping center, compared to 2-3 times a week when I worked in the area) the staff still knows me by name. Even more impressive, I bumped into the owner at Wegman's once and she recognized me by name even though it was completely out of context. But whether you become a regular customer or just stop by once in a while you will not be disappointed. read more

We were in the area and checked this place out. We've tried a good number of Thai restaurants across the Garden State. I would say this place was good but not great. Some reviewers said that they thought this was the best Thai food in Jersey but it's not. If you want my opinion, which you may or may not, we rated our favorite Thai spots while we were eating. Honestly, nothing beats Siam Smiles, we think it's the best Thai in the state. That says a lot coming from my husband, he is EXTREMELY picky about food. 1. Siam Smiles - Matawan. Hands down the best Thai food in Jersey and better than any Thai I've had in Manhattan. It's like having your own Thai momma cooking for you. Everything is handmade and super delicious. The owner is a doll! 2. It's a Thai! Orgin - Morristown and Noodlefan in Jersey City. Considering several factors this is a tough call. Orgin has an amazing Pad Kee Mao, where as Noodlefan has the best Thai fried rice we've ever had (sidewalk fried rice). Noodlefan wins on pricing, Orgin wins on ambience. You can't go wrong with either spot. 3. Morris Thai - Union. Solid, reliable Thai food in a strange location with no ambiance. 4. Topaz - Bellville. Good food, cute place, sweet owner. Solid value. 5. Thai Kithen I - as above. If you are in Manhattan, check out Yum Yum Bangkok in midtown. Decent but nothing memorable. We don't go out of our way to eat at these palaces or go often and they are average at best. T Thai - Hoboken Sawadee - Jersey City Thai Obriens - Bayonne Sweet Ginger - Maplewood Places to avoid: Muang Thai - Red Bank Sirin - Morristown Palm Thai - Madison Sri Thai - Hoboken Sweet Chili - Bayonne read more

When I think of Thai food, there are two restaurants that I think set the bar. One is in Manhattan. The other, is Thai Kitchen. In other words, in my opinion, THIS is what Thai food should taste like. The restaurant is a bit small, perhaps a bit cozy. That's probably the only downside. The service is great. The décor is pleasant. The food is...well. The food is literally the BEST Thai food I have ever had. We usually get some spring rolls or dumplings or something for an appetizer. Fantastic. I always get the Pad Kee Mao, but I've sampled my friends dishes enough times to know that pretty much anything you get here is amazing. I wish I could write more about this, but really, there is no point. It's the best Thai food around. Do not consider any other restaurant. Just come here!! Also, it's BYOB, which, in my opinion, is AWESOME. read more
