Consistently the best Thai food in the area. Quick service to get you back to the office. The duck noodles are THE best!

This is an amazingly friendly, efficient place, with year round steady quality & service and the same great food always. Eat here a couple of times, and they'll recognize you, a few more times and they 'll remember what you ate last time. This place is a mile from home, so its our default eat out , and we - mostly me & the 2 boys - order the same 4 things without even glancing at the menu - pad thai w shrimp, masaman curry w chicken, both w 4 stars, curry puffs or salad, and thai ice tea or ice coffee. Once in a while we splurge and get the pla rad prik - the whole fried snapper. They've never missed - not once!, and we've eaten here dozens of times. I heard they've opened at yet another location - I think Chester or Warren, not sure where. We've eaten at 2 other locations, in Somerville & Hillsborough, and while the menu and food is about the same, this place has always treated us as family guests. The place gets packed on weekend nights, so do call ahead. read more

Absolutely fantastic Thai food. I have eaten here for a few years now and it is the best. Highly recommend this restaurant, and they have been fantastic throughout the pandemic. Prices are fair as is the amount of food you get. What you order today and order again 6 months from now is the same which speaks to great consistency and is hard to come by. If you are in the area, 100% try them out. read more

I have been going to Thai Kitchen 1 & 2 for as long as I can remember. In all the times that I have been to either location I have NEVER had a bad experience. I tell everyone I know about this restaurant and it's easily my favorite Thai place in the United States. Everytime I am in a new city I try Thai and always compare it to Thai Kitchen. So far, no other place has compared. This place has it all. Great service that is friendly and quick & delicious exotic food at an affordable price! Looove! Definitely try my fave when you're there. Pad see eue and their pad Thai is incomparable. The Thai ice tea is perfect on any day and for dessert, the creme brûlée and mango sorbet is delish! read more

They have two locations within 2 miles of each other which should tell you something right off the bat. The food here is amazing. This is definitely one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. Beats anything i've had in Chicago, and is as good as any New York place and its rare to say that about ethnic food in NJ. Everything is so fresh, and the spiciness scale is DEAD on, even though i feel silly asking for spiciness in terms of # of elephants. I bounce around the menu all the time, but I almost always get the cold duck salad with the lime juice and pineapples. Its heavenly. All the old standbys are great too. The fact that they are located in strip malls was an initial turn off but you get over that INSTANTLY when you taste the food. Try everything. DELICIOUSNESS!!!!! read more

BYOB- there are no liquor/wine stores very close to this restaurant so if you want to have a drink make sure you come prepared. My NJ mom LOVES this Thai restaurant so she was thrilled to take me out to eat here while I was visiting. The service was insanely great! My water glass was never empty (and refilled about 6 times!). I am very spoiled when it comes to Thai food- since I have my own kaffir lime tree, I am able to make some kick a** food at home, and when it comes to dining out I can taste whether the chef has this key ingredient or not. Although it is very common in Thai food, it is very difficult to get in the US, so many restaurants do not use this in their cooking. With that said, my dish, Panang Curry was decent- full of red peppers and onions, and chicken in a red curry/coconut milk sauce. It was a bit too soupy and I felt like it was missing something, so I would not order it again, but it was still good. My mom had a shrimp, sweet and sour dish, with pineapple and onions. That was tasty, and had a good portion of shrimp, so if you like sweet sauces then get this. Also, for a starter, we shared a papaya salad which was excellent. The green beans in it tasted strange, and we did not like them, but the rest of the salad was light with lime flavor and a good balance of crunch and salt from the peanuts. This was a fairly busy restaurant on a Friday night @ 7pm so prepare to wait for about 20 mins for a table, or make a reservation in advance. read more

Asian food lovers prepare to be entertained by my review of Thai Kitchen I. I admittedly have no clue about any Asian food except Chinese pork fried rice. I did however have a wonderful Japanese friend who taught me how to eat with chopsticks at a dim sum and gave me a beautiful pair from her homeland. So back to Thai Kitchen I, which anchors a very non-descript row of stores in the strip mall on Prince Rogers Ave in Bridgewater. The common free parking lot has plenty of parking but be sure to make a reservation on Friday and Saturday evenings or you may have a considerable wait to be seated. So armed with my chop sticks I head inside to falsely impress the staff with my Asian food knowledge. The restaurant is a "bring your own alcohol" place. So my wife chose a bottle of sweet white wine to go with the hot food. After a ten minute wait, we are seated in the full dining room. The waitress comes over and starts talking in a quiet voice and hard accent in the noisy room. I requested wine glasses and she brought them. My wife takes out the wine, "Kung Fu Girl" Riesling. Seriously? Now I'm worried if this will insult our server and we'll get poisoned food or a round house kick to the head. Neither happened. So we ordered the roast duck special appetizer. It was very small pieces or duck meat slivers about the size of the sliced peppers which smelled pretty bad. I expected larger pleasant smelling pieces like the duck from Chinese places. The sauce that was on it however was delicious. After reading reviews about the noodles I tried the Pad Lard Nar with beef. The protein and vegetables were good and the brown gravy was excellent but I expected some spice which I latter found out I should have requested. It was the noodles that did not impress me. They had a consistency like thick gelatin and most were stick together in the middle of the bowl in a clump. I also abandon the chop sticks trying to eat this. My wife had Pad Phet Paa with chicken, a spicy dish with sautéed veggies and dry curry paste. Delicious but hot. Good thing the "Kung Fu Girl" was there to defeat the heat. The staff was very nice and attentive. The hostess checked on us to make certain we enjoyed our meals. My wife enjoyed it so we will be back. Next time I'll let her order for me. You should give Thai Kitchen I a try. read more

I get why this place has good reviews! The food was excellent. My hubs is a big Thai guy and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. I got a bunch of apps I enjoyed as my entree and the friends we went with loved their meal too. If it's your birthday they sing a birthday song to you that's different than our traditional happy bday and it's really entertaining to watch. It was crowded on a Sunday night so I'd call ahead if it's Friday or Saturday! read more

Loved the Pad Kee Mao. And the dessert. Personally didn't like the egg roll or satae a lot. Too sweet for my taste. read more

Fast service, great food, friendly staff. It was jam packed on a Friday afternoon. Thankfully they could seat us quickly since we were just a party of 2. The only reason i am not giving a 5 star is because the server insisted that the minimum tip is 15%. read more

When my husband did consulting work in New Jersey (while I was living in Boston), he ate at Thai Kitchen every day of the week. Well, that was four years ago... We went back over the holidays for lunch...and they recognized him. That was a good sign. Lunch service was efficient. A small salad with peanut dressing was placed before us as we sat down and orders were taken after a few minutes. Everything was great...and we were all over the menu....from curries to noodles. The spicy-ness level was spot on...but beware, if you aren't into spicy, go with 1-star spicy-ness level. Also, it is a BYOB, but they quickly opened our bottle (without charging a corkage fee), and placed it in one of those wine coolers that slips around the bottle. I'd go back anytime!!! read more

My favorite Thai Restaurant! Always order the traditional Pad Thai and Red Curry. Delicious! Quality hasn't gone down even with the take out. Happy to see people are still coming here as they have set up an outdoor dining area. A must try for Thai food!! read more

wow, surprised by all of the good reviews. I can only assume this part of NJ is lacking in good thai food if people think this place is a 4-5 star place. I was part of a large group and had a chance to sample many items. All were lacking in flavor, fried rice was mushy, the broth to my soup was so salty it was like tasting sea water. Tiny eggy rolls. Just nothing great about this place at all. It was not horrible which is why I am not giving this a 1 star but wow, I feel bad for people of NJ if this is what they think is great Thai food. read more

Pretty disappointed in the $50 I just spent on take-out. The breakdown: Chicken satay skewers - good portion size but I've had better peanut sauce Pla Muk Yang app - big mistake, this was flavorless and the "spicy sauce" is nothing more than sweet chili sauce from the grocery store w crushed peanuts sprinkled on top Tom Kha Gai soup - probably the best thing of this whole order, nothing wrong w/ it but once again, had better (Siam in Lambertville and Origin in Somerville) Beef Pad Khing - good but too heavy on the ginger, this coming from a big ginger fan Chicken Mussamum curry - sigh, where do I begin?...consistency watery, potato undercooked and very strange taste to it, not fresh like it was borderline spoiling (just the potato not the whole dish), asked for a 4/5 spice and it was more like a 2...I know that Origin is fusion, but theirs blows this out of the water. I can't believe this place gets such great reviews. In fact, the overwhelming positive reviews make me think that 1) it was a completely off-night here, 2) we ordered all the wrong things and there is a secret special menu with all the good food, or 3) no one in central NJ has ever had good Thai food to compare this to, resulting in a lot of "beginner" reviews. read more

This place is my lunch spot. I work literally 2 minutes away, which is only a problem because Thai Kitchen has ruined me for all other Thai restaurants. Thai Kitchen was my first Thai restaurant. Unfortunately, I've come to realize there's no where to go from here but down. It's incredible. I'm a broad noodles kind of guy, or else I go with the Mee Siam. I think I've eaten everything on the menu and never been dissappointed. If you're a beginner, like I was, the Pad Thai is literally the best you'll ever have. The flavors are spot on, the heat is perfect (you order in stars or elephants, 1-5), and the peanu crunch is exactly the texture contrast you need. This place is a literal assembly line of Thai food. Expect a wait at lunch time, but it's ok. Once you sit down, you order, and your food will be there in less than 5 minutes. There's another one the next town over that I've never been to but hear it's the same thing. It's incredible. Nuff said. read more

Being ambushed and commandeered to pay 20% gratuity by this restaurant tonight resulted in them losing a loyal patron of more than 30 years. Gratuity is exactly that. Gratuity. Not mandate. Many reviews here detail similar experiences to ours so this seems to be a norm at Thai Kitchen. Shaming customers into leaving 20% = SHAME ON YOU THAI KITCHEN. Disgusting and unprofessional at the least. As tasty as your food can be does not make up for the bad taste you left in our mouths tonight. read more

Their green curry and red curry dishes are really good. When taking your order, the waiter asked us how spicy we wanted our food to be; we were told that 3 elephants = medium. Personally, 3 or 4 is good enough for me, but I've never tried 5. Anyways, I also thought that the portions of the dishes were perfect because it leaves me enough room to share a Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Overall, we were pretty satisfied with this restaurant and would definitely go back if/when in the area. read more

The best Thai food I know in America is here. I used to come here all the time for lunch, so cheap (during lunch like $7/dish), fast and satisfying. No particular favorites, I try to be fair and rotate what I order. Pad Thai is an obvious choice but they make a solid one. Pad see ew, duck noodles, pad kee mao all great. Ask for the white pepper to take it up a notch. Rice dishes and curry dishes also can't go wrong. Spicy levels are pretty accurately calibrated so if you like spicy but don't want to be overwhelmed stick with 4 (scale is 1-5). read more

Upon first entering Thai Kitchen I was not blown away. Somewhat average decor but a cozy environment for sure. The food however; was amazing! Both dishes we ordered exceeded our expectations. Portion sizes were on point. 2 appetizers and 2 entrees for a total of two people and not one bit was left to take home. I also was a big fan of the 1-5 scale of how spicy you want you food prepared. We have been coming to Thai Kitchen I for over a dozen years. Tonight, after making a reservation for 7:15, we were seated on time, in a busy restaurant full with people waiting. The lights are low, inviting and warm. The staff is always pleasant and efficient. We started with a couple appys of grilled squid and a puff in a creamy sauce. Both were delicious and another great start. Our dinner order was taken and even with a couple special requests, our server Erica, understood what was requested and our dinners were brought out hot and flavorful. They were delicious. The restaurant was still full and people waiting. At no time did we feel rushed as the staff checked on us but they weren't overbearing. Overall, service good, food good, price fair and a wide selection. We will be back. read more

I have to said that for the price, I would prefer the cooking of origin Thai. The place is not only more trendy, the cooking is more "authentic". Thai kitchen maybe owned by Thai people but their "elephant" heat which is a 5/5 is a bit more then mild in my books. The tom yum soup, when I asked if it was made traditionally or from the paste, my waitress said it was from scratch...liar liar pants on fire! The dumpling which was claimed to be store made is not any different from the commercially purchased products. I have to give the some credit, the aroma from when I first walked into the rest did smelled authentic, and I leave feeling disappointed read more

If I had to summarize why Thai Kitchen in Bridgewater is so popular, I would narrow it down to these three things: economical, efficient and satisfying. It is economical because all the items on the lunch menu are priced at $9 or below. Efficient because once you're seated and order, the food takes less than 10mins to arrive; same goes if you order something for pickup. And it is satisfying because the food is well made, though there is nothing on the menu to go crazy about. Decent good Thai food is what this place offers. And it is because of these three things that I like Thai Kitchen. Wish more small restaurants operated in this manner. My favorite on the lunch menu is the number 13 - Pad Ba Mee and also I like the Pad Kee Mao entrée. One thing I should mention is that the fried rice was very mediocre and I would suggest staying away from it. Also, the curries (red, yellow, etc.) on the menu are also good. read more

This time we had two new entrees & they are both are great. Recommend two have both together as one is dry & other is curry makes a unique combination, also tastes great too. 50. Kao Pad Phet Jay Mixed vegetables and tofu fried rice with basil leaves and hot & spicy chili. read more

One of my favorite Thai restaurants. I continue to go here and love the food. Service is good, I feel rushed a bit sometimes but I have to say everything I have tried has been great. Food tastes fresh and good quality. Price is good too. I would say if you want to get the best bang for your buck go at lunch time. You get the same dinner portions at the lunch price. (and you get a little spring roll to start or a little salad) This Thai Kitchen is the best out of all the others ones I have tried. It gets pretty busy on the weekends for dinner but they usually accommodate you pretty quickly. read more

This Thai place has been a family favorite since 2015, when we first tried it. The staff are so friendly and efficient- service is quick and discreet and absolutely fantastic. Our most frequent dishes: red curry (gang dang), pad cashew, tom kha gai soup, Pad Khing, fried rice, Pad Tou Kak, and the sticky mango rice dessert is not to be missed. I've been here several times. Besides our waiter accidentally sloshing gravy over my friend's shirt last week, I'm going to say the food is usually good. But sometimes the dishes are too salty and overpriced, like the shrimp entree (currently listed in their Specials section for $18). My advice would be to stick to something not too expensive on the menu, and you won't be too disappointed when it doesn't turn out that great. The fried ice cream is okay. It's basically fried batter around vanilla ice cream with a cherry and sweet sauce on top. The Thai Iced Tea is always a great beverage. Even when it's below 30 out there. The atmosphere is nice, and the service is alright. read more

I love Thai Kitchen! They have multiple locations in NJ. I have been coming here for years, before I moved to LA, and now whenever I come back I always come here! My sister and friends are obsessed with it and we go in or get take out almost daily when I'm back. All the food tastes very authentic. They use very fresh ingredients and everything has amazing flavor! Their spicy dishes are VERY spicy (they ask you 1-5, I usually go with 4.). Service is great and incredibly quick. Most of their veggie dishes do contain fish sauce and oyster sauce so be sure to ask for the dishes without. They are very accommodating and used to getting these requests. I've tried nearly all the veggies dishes on the menu. My favorites are: Pad Tau Kak, Pad Kra Pao, Pad Cashew, and Pad Phet Paa. Everything here is so great! I've never ordered anything I haven't liked. Probably the best Thai place in the area! It's affordable and portions are large enough that you could save 1/3 or so to bring home if you wanted. I would say their green and red curries are the best on the menu. We also tried their beef satae which was really good and juicy. Loved how if you choose shrimp for the entrees, they give you the jumbo sized type, so you can really enjoy the individual piece. Overall, everything was delicious in flavor, but slightly heavier on the sauce (for the non-curry dishes) than I would've wanted. read more
