Ordered appetizers - the crispy shrimp and pork spring roll was good, and the chicken wings w/ tamarind was ok. We shared the mains - the pho dac biet was very good, good balance of rich broth and various types of meats, and the banh mi was pretty good, too! Very spicy jalapenos. Dishes are a hit or miss. The shaken beef was overcooked and the rice was undercooked. If I was eating at the restaurant, I would've sent this dish back, but unfortunately I ordered via uber eats and I'm stuck with it. The grilled pork on rice was actually good. I would recommend this dish. The shrimp over rice was not bad but the pieces were pretty small and you only get 6. If they add just two more pieces to this dish it would've been perfect. A perfect light and flavorful appetizer. For my main, I got the pho with steak and added bok choy on the side. The broth was super comforting and came with thinly sliced steak, onions, scallions, cilantro, and the classic sides: bean sprouts, lime, jalapeños, and Thai basil. Such a nice, filling meal for a rainy night! My boyfriend ordered the rice platter, which came stacked with grilled pork chop, egg roll, shredded pork, tofu, a slice of steamed pork cake, salad, and a sunny-side-up egg over rice. A very nice restaurant to dine in and enjoy a good meal with family, friends, or on your own as well. The restaurant was very clean and peaceful, with plenty of seating available. We were seated immediately and given waters and menus shortly after. There was also a TV screen with a cute snowing video, which added to the cozy and relaxing atmosphere. We started with the tofu spring rolls, which came with peanut sauce and tasted very good and refreshing. It was a nice, light start to the meal. Our waiter was also very nice and always had a kind smile when bringing the food. The food came out fairly quickly and tasted great. My main dish was the B1 which included rice noodles & greens with pork, beef, and two shrimp, all of which were delicious. The meats were marinated, making each bite flavorful and satisfying. The noodles had a great texture and were cooked just right, and the greens were fresh, well-cleaned, and tasted delicious as well. Overall, the flavors were very good. The portion size was good and filling. The table had different sauces available like siracha, fish sauce, vinegars, etc. so you could customize the dishes to fit your preferences. The dishes with meats came well-marinated, with simple but nice flavors, making it easy to personalize to your liking. I've come here a few times, and whenever I do, I always get the "Create your own Pho" order with 3 proteins. The restaurant always serves the pho in a big bowl with lots of noodles, meat, and veggies such as bean sprouts. Price is not too bad for the amount you're getting. Server was nice and patiently waited for us to dedecide what we wanted to eat. Food: We ordered the vegetable summer rolls, make your own pho bowl, vegetarian bahn mi sandwich and a rice vermicelli/meat dish. All were tasty. Make your own Pho includes 3 proteins (i got the fat brisket, well done brisket, and well done flank), bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, and lime. You can also get additional toppings like tofu, broccoli, etc for extra charge. I didn't get anything extra and it was still very tasty. 5/5 Banh mi was good but I wish it had more flavor. One of my fav places added egg roll to their vegetarian banh mis which made it amazing. I think this place should incorporate that. This was pretty good however the beef was cooked a little too well done compared to what I have order several time at their South Plainfield location. I've been a patron for many years. I've even gone at least once a week at times. I'm a huge fan of soups and pho is one of my favorites. I feel that both locations have always been consistent. I've been to other places where the broth was fragrant but lacked flavor, but I find Pho Today to always has the right balance. If I had to say something I've encountered some meats to have a "fridge" taste but I've been in the food industry for years and I can understand that a dish like this can't be made to order and requires pre cooking and storage, while the latter might have not been done well on the few instances I've mentioned. Over all the food is delicious even the hot grilled options and the sandwiches. The ambiance is fine and the service albeit unenthusiastic has never been an issue for me. We ordered the grilled pork summer roll, pho dac biet and bun bo hue. The grilled pork summer roll is something I don't usually order but glad I did. It's the same delicious grilled pork that you would get in one of the main rice or noodle plates. Also, they added pickled daikon and carrots in the roll which was a nice surprise. The pho dac biet is usually one of my go to's because it comes with a variety of proteins. It had good traditional pho flavor and the meats, tripe and tendon were all cooked well. The bun bo hue was also good but I've definitely had better elsewhere. Other places I've been to, they usually use pork knuckle while here they used thin sliced boneless pork chop. Overall I think the food is on the same level as the South Plainfield location. The decor inside is fairly nice. The service though was slow do to the lack of servers. Stopped in for lunch today since we were in the area. We haven't been here in forever since we moved. I looked ever the menu and noticed some changes. The spring rolls used to come four to an order and now it's two but I believe the price is the same $4.95 The other thing I noticed is that the prices have increased for much more then the other Pho restaurants that we go to. I know the cost of things has gone up but this increase seems more then most places. We ordered the spring rolls, and my husband ordered Pho, I got a Grilled pork Banh mi. The spring rolls tasted hot, fresh, and crispy as usual. I enjoyed my sandwich, the pork marinade was delicious and the bread was fresh with a nice crust. I asked my hubby how his Pho was. We're here about once a week. The food is great, service is good. I always get the pho with rare steak and well done brisket, and the other half gets the vermicelli with pork. We're creatures of habit. The doors though are heavy as all get out. They're thick glass and weigh a ton. It's in a strip mall so they have no control over it. We're old and these doors are tough to open. Use the door on the left to go in, and there's another heavy door in the vestibule. They're a really short distance from Costco and Trader Joe, so there's always an excuse to go. There's some sort of loud machine they use to make some kind of drink. It's annoying. read more
