Practically finished my meal before finding a bug in it.

I found a MAGGOT and some sort of SLIME in my vegetables!!!! Instead of offering me a refund for my repulsive meal...she offered me new vegetables from the SAME tray of veggies! Really?!? I found a maggot in your food...why would I want more food? Finding a maggot and slime, after practically finishing your meal, totally sucks BUT the lack of empathy, the lack of customer service and not getting a refund after, sucks even more! I can't rate this place zero stars but I can make sure that I spend $0 there ever again!

Origin French Thai - Green Tea

It was my wife's birthday, and after spending the day in Princeton, we decided to stop for dinner…read moreat a Thai restaurant on our way back home. Somerville is an area we had never explored before, and while searching on Google, we found many good restaurant options. We finally decided to try Origin French Thai. All day it rained heavily, and by 7:30 PM it had become quite dark. Finding parking was a little difficult. Even though there is a municipal parking lot right next to the restaurant, getting a spot still took some time. One thing we really liked was the whole downtown vibe. The streets on both sides are closed for cars, and people can sit outside along the sidewalks, which gives the area a nice European-style atmosphere (though it was raining that day) We had a reservation booked already (highly recommended), and we got a comfortable couch table in the back section overlooking the restaurant. The ambience was really nice -- dim lighting with an Asian-inspired theme. They also have another seating section inside, so the place is actually bigger than it looks in some photos. We ordered: * Tom Yum Goong Soup - Easily one of the best Tom Yum soups I've ever had. After such a rainy day, it felt extra comforting and satisfying. 5/5 * Noodle Curry Shrimp - Crispy noodles soaked in gravy with shrimp pieces and a red coconut cream-based curry. Absolutely delicious. 5/5 * Red Curry Chicken - The gravy felt somewhat similar to the noodle curry dish to me, but it was still really flavorful and enjoyable. 4/5 Overall, the entire experience was wonderful. The food truly made the evening special and created a memorable birthday dinner for us. If I'm ever passing through this area again, I would definitely come back.

High quality ingredients and flavor surprisingly given the suburban, modern area. It gladdens me to see more Thai restaurants get love in Central Jersey!

I came back for a lunch meal…read more I had the mango chicken. It was lightly breaded chicken stir fried with bell peppers, shredded mango, and Thai basil. It also came with a side of white rice. I opted for a three-spice level. This was well put together and a good size portion. It was sweeter than I thought, but the spice offset it a little bit. Everything was cooked appropriately as well. It was just a satisfying dish. I also split the seafood tom yum noodle soup that came with thin rice noodles, shrimp, squid, mussels, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and lemongrass. Again, this was nicely done. There was plenty of all the ingredients and everything was flavored right. It was a soothing bowl.

The owner is always so friendly, and the entire operation runs like a well-oiled machine. The restaurant is always packed--a testament to how great the food and service are. My husband and I love trying new dishes every visit, and they never disappoint. Today, we started with Thai Rolls and Yum Ped Yang as appetizers--both were absolutely delicious. For our entrees, we had "Eight is Enough" and the Seafood Combo. So, so good! Every bite was packed with flavor. We finished with Crème Brûlée and Mango Mousse Cake for dessert--light, refreshing, and the perfect way to end the meal. Highly recommend Thai Kitchen to anyone looking for authentic Thai food, friendly service, and a consistently fantastic dining experience!

We came in right before a snowstorm so it was relatively empty. There were a few tables of people of the women who greeted us is very nice and see if this promptly. I had the pad Thai. My son got Thai fried rice and my wife got a duck noodle dish. Having tried all three they were all excellent. The duck was really good and surprisingly affordable for what she got. The inside of the restaurant was very nice. My son particularly loved the fish tank and looking at the fish while we waited for our food, they did not mind him getting up and just staring at it. Granted there was very few people in the restaurant. Some places seem tolerate kids while they seem to really enjoy him being there. If I was in the area again that would definitely come back. The food is reasonable. The staff is nice and the ambiance is pretty good. Definitely worth stopping in

I enjoy visiting different Thai restaurants depending on what I'm in the mood for, since each place has its own unique flavors -- and this one is definitely on my list of favorites. The Pad Gra Prow is my top pick here -- flavorful basil sauce, fresh vegetables, and your choice of meat over rice. The Drunken Noodles are another great option I always enjoy. The staff is friendly, the service is consistently good, and the restaurant is clean and welcoming. Located in the Somerset Shopping Center next to Barnes & Noble, it's easy to find and always worth the visit. After all these years, this spot still holds up and absolutely earns four stars from me!

The yellowtail is flavorful without being too fishy and the salmon cuts are consistently high-quality. The red tuna is alright. Albacore and sea bass are both good. I would definitely recommend trying the rolls and combinations here as well. The sushi is understandably this restaurant's high point, and I cannot emphasize the quality and care enough. Even the plating is beautiful. The environment here is very welcoming. Even when it's completely full, the music and conversations are never overly loud. Used to be BYOB but now has a drinks menu and bar. I haven't tried the sake, but the NJ wines are decent. The desserts are limited. The oreo tempura ice cream is interesting though and unique to this location. I wouldn't recommend getting any desserts, though. I'd fully recommend coming here! It's the best sushi in the area.

The atmosphere is gorgeous--tasteful, modern, and elevated, so dining here feels like a treat every time. It's perfect for a date or a small group celebration. Staff is diligent and friendly, but definitely busy. Prices are fair for the quality; while not bargain-basement, you're definitely getting your money's worth considering the freshness, presentation, and careful detail of the entire sushi experience. If you are looking for a new sushi spot, I would recommend giving this place a try!
