Another trip here. Still love this place. Service is always fast and friendly. The aesthetic hasn't changed or declined. The food is always amazing. I come here quite often and have never had a bad experience. Main St Roll: A+ Otoro (special): A+ Salmon: A++ (so fresh)

I heard about this shop from people who have come here a few times as they enjoy the options. It is located on main street so be sure to consider metered street parking or a public parking lot. I ordered a spicy Kani salad which wasn't bad but it seemed kinda dry. I may be used to a moist soft crab with sauce when I order Kami salad but this was just the crab meat with chili flakes. It's certainly good for a light appetizer as you wait for your main dish. I ordered 2 sushi rolls from their chefs special menu that they keep on the side wall. One was tropical with mango so it was slightly sweetened. Another had shrimp tempura so there was fried oil taste to it. The environment isn't too loud and the wait staff come by every now and then to refill waters. It is certainly an interesting restaurant. Reasonable pricing. I probably won't order the same specialty rolls again but I think I would like o come again to try something else as it was a pleasant experience

Excellent sushi at very reasonable prices. Was especially impressed by their variety of 'specialty fish' ie sea bream, amberjack, etc. Only negative was the "Jar" style jalapenos on the yellowtail. should never use jar/canned jalapeños. always fresh.

A long awaited visit, and frequently called some of the best sushi around! I am glad we finally got to visit. The menu has a lot to pick from, with very affordable prices and fresh tasting fish! There is a long list of rolls and special rolls to choose from, as well as col and hot appetizers, cooked entrees, noodles and more. My table shared the tuna tataki (which was big enough for all 6 of us to share, believe it or not!) We all got rolls and sushi meals, and everyone was very satisfied. The portions were generous, and the service was fast without us feeling rushed. This is a BYOB restaurant, right in the middle of downtown Somerville. Its a great spot, but very difficult to find parking during peak hours (Friday/Saturday around dinner). We recommend making a whole day out of it or carpooling if you are going with a group. Not the best for larger groups, as most of the seating are booths. Its a little difficult to put a large table together. A party of 6 or less is perfect. We absolutely loved it here and will be back soon.

Also just wanted to shout to Sushi Yokohama for having great delivery. It always delivers fresh and extremely well packaged.

Fantastic sushi restaurant! My wife and I love this place. I tried some different things today. I got a cucumber wrapped sushi. I thought it was bland and lack flavor. Also, I got the fried shrimp. It was delicious. But, the end pieces tasted too oily because the shrimp was fried. My wife's rolls were delicious! Spicy tuna rolls. Tuna tartare delicious!!! We got take out, and excellent service.

Food is always consistently tasty, especially the specialty rolls! It's a great local spot to visit and is nothing super fancy, but the staff is great. I appreciate their prices being affordable which is hard to find nowadays.

I wish I lived closer to Somerville because this would be my weekly sushi spot! Service was quick and our server was simply the sweetest, by helping my Mom choose a roll that wasn't spicy and it was so delicious! She ended up with the Kamikaze roll. I ordered the salmon avocado roll, a classic that didn't disappoint. The pumpkin tempura roll was warm and a fun change from the sweet potato tempura roll I usually get. But the MARS roll...dang! So yummy. There are so many other options to choose from so I'll have to make a trip over here again soon!

I'm so glad Sushi Yokohama is open again! I came here with my friends and had amazing sushi. We all got the lunch special which came with 2 rolls, soup and salad for $10.95! I'm vegetarian, so my options were limited but I got the sweet potato roll and the peanut avocado roll. I also got miso soup as one of the sides and the soup was soooo good! Definitely needed on a cold day. We got our food pretty quickly after ordering which was really appreciated.

Always have loved it here. Was so sad when they had to close due to the fire up the block for all of those months. Have been back a few times & picked up take out. Always so fresh and delicious. Was there on Sunday with a non sushi eater, which is fine because they have so many cooked Japanese options, even Hibachi. We started with Shumai & edamame. My friend had scallop & chicken Hibachi, I had sushi, eel & salmon sushi as well as a specialty roll, all so fresh and delicious. We both left happy and full. My friend tried my roll and liked it! Maybe he will broaden his horizons in the future. The staff are all so nice, we went early so no wait (@ 4:30 pm) but as we were leaving an hour or so later the place was really filling up, I'd suggest a reservation even on a Sunday

Any idea on when they are re-opening at the new location?

    They are now open.

Has this restaurant closed down? When I call the number get an auto message that the number is not in service.

I believe they are doing renovations or are moving close by, this is what I've been told

Didn't know but there is an ally path from the main downtown parking area to the shopping plaza/pedestrian roadway. This is still a great all you can eat sushi places, as good as I remember, great location and atmosphere, though the interior is showing a bit of wear and tear. Service was adequate but they did appear to be short maybe one server. I thought my wife and I were going to have all u can shovel but she pointed out that they also offered a 2 & 3 roll special. Not only did they offer my regular favorites but the price was about half the cost of all-u-can-eat. Special included an ample salad and soup while the six rolls were surprisingly large with generous ingredients altogether left us pleasantly full. Sure I could have had another roll but then I would have been "uncomfortable" and sleepy. All in all really happy with our choice to stop and the 2-3 roll special can be a better financial option while still leaving full.

Happened upon this sushi place, but will never happen again…read more The interior had cool architecture and design. There were plenty of waitresses and our food was out quickly. One waitress tried her best to help, but she was difficult to understand. We had the seaweed salad that seemed dried out. The shrimp ceviche was super good but it pretty much ends there. The selection of rolls was basic with nothing that stood out. The rolls we had were ok. The Oreo tempura and mini rolls were decent. As soon as we put the last bite in our mouths, the check was there. We felt nothing short of thrown out. It was weird, but we wanted to leave quickly when a group of diners allowed their children to run around the restaurant. While we ate we hoped the staff would say something but the situation got much worse. We were forced to move drinks on our table so kids wouldn't hit them while running. This experience could have been more than a 2 but since this issue was allowed to continue, 2 stars it is. Overall, just bad.

Sakura Sushi has a large menu, including a kids menu. There is something for everyone. I ordered their Sushi Dinner- 10 pieces of various sushi, and a Spicy Tuna Roll. It came with Miso Soup, and Green Salad with Ginger Dressing. I also ordered their Valentine Roll-Spicy Tuna, Crunch, Avocado inside,Spicy Tuna Outside. Everything I ordered was delicious. The Miso soup had seaweed and tofu in it. It was warm and comforting. The Green Salad was fresh and crisp not watery like some other places, and oh that Ginger Dressing made the salad. Then on to my sushi. It was beautifully displayed and had fresh wasabi and pickled ginger and a separate container of soy sauce for dipping. Every piece was fresh, including my Valentine Roll. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. My boyfriend ordered Steamed Pork Gyoza for an appetizer. They were good. For his entree he chose their Beef Teriyaki Dinner. Beef Teriyaki pieces with fresh Vegetables and Fried Rice. His dinner also came with Miso Soup, and Green Salad with Ginger Dressing. He enjoyed his meal but wished the beef was more pink and medium rare. . They do have seating if you choose to eat in. The dining room looked nice. Initial walk in- typical hibachi place, but a little dark for my taste. The hibachi tables were set up a little differently than what I'm used to (Kiku) where it's a large space with individual hibachi tables. These hibachi tables had two chefs back to back facing one direction and around the hibachi table sat 18-20 people (9-10 on each side). Our hibachi chef was alright. Didn't really do anything extravagant which sucked because we had 3 toddlers that was excited to see the volcano. The "volcano" he made only had 2 onion rings and the fire was out almost immediately. He's lucky the kids got entertained by the smoke once the fire went out. Food was WAY too overly seasoned with teriyaki sauce. I ordered the filet mignon and salmon- filet mignon was surprisingly pretty good and the salmon was a little too thin and overly drenched in terkiyaki sauce, make the final product to be SUPER salty. I'm not sure if it was cuz of the chef that was eh, but this is not a hibachi place I would recommend
