First time, mid week, visit to BSC. The service and drinks were excellent. The fish, soup and dessert were well cooked and presented. The vibe/ambiance of the dining room was low key due to mid week. Next visit we will try the bar area The aroma of a fresh/good sea food restaurant was in the air. If you are in the mood for seafood give BSC a try read more

This is a Good place with good vibes, and the service is great. However, after a few visits, I find the food to be a little bland.

We just had a fabulous meal here at Boulevard seafood Company. I've always wanted to eat here and finally had a chance. With our pup and had a reservation for outside dining. We were seated right away and were greeted by our server. It was a beautiful night in downtown Somerville until it started to rain. Our server along with I believe the manager showed us where to go for their outside patio outback. I didn't even know it existed. We started with the grilled octopus appetizer as well special crab and lobster tostadas. We loved them both. Remind me I ordered the rigatoni with Shrimp and my date ordered the chili salmon. We pretty much devoured our meals. The corn for that came before the mill were very good as well. I actually ordered something to go. Everything we had was great and the service was wonderful. We will be definitely going back again. read more

Great food. Reasonable rates . Seafood lovers should visit it atleast once to try food.

We recently had the pleasure of dining here on a lovely Sunday afternoon, opting to sit outside and indulge in their family-style brunch while enjoying the scenery and people-watching. It is essential to note that there is a lot of food to eat so guests should be prepared to come hungry or take leftovers home. Our selection of small plates included ricotta-stuffed crepes, latkes with house-cured salmon, a mezza plate, and brioche French toast. While awaiting our meal, we were treated to spiced sugar beignets with chocolate and raspberry sauce, which were delightful. The variety of flavors was impressive, and everything was absolutely delicious, including the Belgian beer-steamed mussels and fish and chips, both of which came with generous portions of fries. Although we were unable to fit dessert into our meal, the bar offered exceptional cocktails. Our server, Kerry, and the manager, Libby, provided outstanding service, making this a top recommendation for brunch. No wonder this is one of my favorite places to eat in town! Went for a quick lunch, today... nice atmosphere, professional service, food very good. But an "ice charge" for a bourbon??? Granted it was a large cube, as bourbon drinkers prefer, but a charge? I've consumed bourbon across our great nation , corner bar, to high-end establishments - never seen such a charge. it isn't the $$ amount but the idea, charge for ice? read more

Went for a spontaneous girls night out last night, around 730pm. We made a reso in case, but it wasn't necessary. The restaurant was located in downtown Somerville and was full inside, but had plenty of seating on the outside patio. It was nice and quiet and we were immediately greeted by our server, Lexi. Since it was our first time, we opted to try several of the appetizers instead of going for entrees. This included the Grilled Octopus, Crispy Calamari, Canneloni Jump Crab Meat w/Avocado Roll, Pow Pow Shrimp, and Grilled Scallops. Everything was excellent! The scallops were grilled to perfection, the calamari was lightly breaded and filling, I even enjoyed the octopus (which I don't usually love). I found the Canneloni roll to be a little bland tasting (could have used some salt or seasoning), and the Pow shrimp had a thick coat of fry that I removed. I was also sad to hear they removed the fish tacos from the menu, as I had heard such great things about them! Each meal comes with fried corn fritters to start, which were sooo good! FYI: It's BYOB, so make sure to come prepared! read more

I was there on a Friday night, which may have skewed my experience. When we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly waitress and had a minimal wait to be seated. The ambience was beautiful clean, and it didn't smell like seafood. I would recommend bringing your own bottle of wine since everybody seemed to BYOB, my girlfriends and I spent about 60 minutes there waiting for our food entrees. I will say the seafood was very fresh and delicious, but the service was so slow. If we did not order an appetizer, I would have starved. What puzzled me the most was everybody at my table ordered raw fish so it was mostly required assembly, so they must have been behind schedule. read more

Yes, it's good! Fresh, and well-presented and prepared, with prompt, friendly, and competent service. A bit loud and energetic, but as long as you are expecting that vibe, you'll have a fine meal and an enjoyable evening. read more

Food was very average. Very small portions. Ordered the halibut special. It came so small with 2 bite sized pieces and 3 scallops. It was bit salty and not seasoned well. I tried it once and wouldn't go back. It came with a really small portion!!! read more

Giving this place 2 stars because this was my third visit and they have become progressively worse, but the extra star was due to the pleasant previous visit. 3 plus a baby visit a few weeks ago and asked to sit outside. We were told that we had to order everything at once, so that was very annoying. It's not covid anymore and we got there at 5:00 PM... we ordered crispy sushi rice which we had previously order and it was not as good as the previous time but it was ok. We also ordered the pow pow shrimp which was pretty awful and mostly breading - do not recommend.... For dinner I ordered the risotto which tasted like it came out of a box and my husband ordered the crab cake which was pretty good actually. After all, our server forgot about us, so I had to walk inside to pay. She was just chilling by the drink station. Overall, the quality went down dramatically since the last time we were there and so did the service. I won't go back. read more

Highly recommended place that we finally made it to. Both appetizers and the fish sandwich were excellent but surprisingly both the presentation and the flavors in the poke bowl were a miss. Very friendly staff. Ambience was ok but there was a bit of an odor in the place. read more

Boulevard has reopened so a buddy of mine and I grabbed dinner last night. They had four specials. Was not super busy on this Sunday night. Interior is very nice. Modern and has a bar you can sit at. Place is BYOB which is nice. Service is average. Not the best service, not the worst service. Last time I was there I got the surf and Turf. I didn't love it so I went for mussels this time. They were very average. The sauce lacked flavor and I was quite disappointed. My buddy got a poke bowl. App wise we got oysters, which were fantastic and wings (which was a special) wings weren't great. I probably won't be back here for a while. read more

Agree with the other reviews, loved this place the first time we visited but it was terrible the second time. They forgot our sides and the food was just okay. Servers are not attentive and service is rushed. read more

My wife and I weren't sure what to order, so we asked our waitress for recommendations. She never tasted any of the items on the menu, but recommend some popular items. We wanted to like the Blackened Cajun Salmon and Boulevard Seafood Risotto, but neither dish did it for us. The risotto tasted like cheap Knorr branded pasta sides with expensive scallops and lobster mixed in with it. The Salmon was just ok. Maybe it was us. read more

Heard such good things about this place so had to come and try it out. My boyfriend stopped by on a Friday around 5:30 and were seated right away. This place is byob and there is a liquor store right down the street if you forgot to bring something. There is also a discount if you pay in cash! Thankfully it was still happy hour with raw oysters being $2 each. We ordered the fried oyster taco, salmon poke, crab cakes, and cod/shrimp tacos. We loved every bit of food and basically cleaned each plate haha. It is an open kitchen concept, you are able to watch your food get prepared. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the amount of sauce put on the poke & tacos. Don't get me wrong, the sauce was delicious it was just a little too much. Other than that, everything was perfect. Will definitely be returning! read more

We went with two little kids and took a high top table with a nice view of the chef's kitchen. Mussels app was great! Broth was amazing Lobster and seafood truffle risotto --- amazing!! Looked like a small portion but it was filled with scallops lobster and shrimp. The flavors alone in this dish wasn't just one dimensional. Get it. Rock shrimp app- fresh and ginormous- not your typical rock shrimp app- the salsa on top complemented it well! Will get again. Fish and chips- not the ones you find at Shoprite LOL these were legit fresh fish fillets and the batter was light and airy. Not bready. Lobster roll. Meaty, flavorful and good portions. byob! Right in the heart of d Somerville. read more

This place was BYOB with an all-seafood menu. They also had a market that offered fresh fish. The building appeared to be all brick with a seating area with a view into the kitchen. The service was appreciated while the food came out in a timely manner. There was also a small discount if cash was used. For starters, the steamed littleneck clams ($12) and faroe island salmon poke ($14) were ordered. There were 12 large clams cooked in garlic butter, oregano, and white wine. They appeared to be fresh and were pleasant. I would have preferred a little more garlic to these, but regardless, still appetizing. The poke had roasted beets, avocado, grapefruit, oranges, scallions, sesame seeds with a ponzu sauce and chili aioli. This was a special on the night I attended. I was afraid this would be too sweet, but that was not the case at all. There was a nice balance with the fruits and sauce component of the dish. For an entrée, I went with the blackened yellowfin tuna ($30). It came with sautéed green beans and a caper olive vinaigrette. The tuna was cooked to a perfect rare temperature. The vinaigrette really stood out to me as it paired nicely with the tuna. It reminded me of a muffuletta. It was a well put together dish. I also tried the halibut dish, great flavor, but a little salty. For dessert, the chocolate chip banana bread pudding ($8?) was ordered. It came with vanilla ice cream. It was a great way to end the meal. The bread pudding was soft and warm which went well with the cool ice cream. Will I go back? Yes. read more

The Ambiance is very cool since it's a fish market up front with a restaurant in the back. My wife and I really enjoyed every dish we tried. Food ranges wildly. They have the capability to be good but they fall short. We have had terrible food overly saturated in butter/oil with really overcooked fish or amazing food with right amount of butter/oil and well cooked. Get your stuff together. You can be great. Have a talk with one of your chefs. One of you is good and the other is terrible. Figure it out. read more

Didn't k ow it was byob but that was my fault. Was very good. Got the clams appetizer and it was close to 20 of them. We shared for the table. Was in a great tasty broth. Also got the seafood risotto. It was mediocre. I'd try something different next time. Would go again. read more

3.5 stars Decided to come here for dinner, they have limit the table and have social distancing. Ordered the seafood tower, couple of appetizers and a risotto. This place gives a feel of a pizzeria, by serving water in a bottle. I'm not sure if that's due to covid or it's just how they were. The shrimp cocktail in the seafood tower was over cooked. Everything is else is ok. read more

We had dinner last Thursday. After oysters, we wanted four appetizers to share, and asked the server to make sure they were served sequentially. While the food was excellent, we received the appetizers all together, before we were done with the oysters, with little room for the plates on the table, and seriously limiting our enjoyment of the meal. In retrospect, we should have sent a couple of them back. Don't really know if this was due to the kitchen, or the server. Most likely both. read more

If you like seafood, I recommend here! I have been here for dinner twice, both times with groups, and every person liked every dish! My favorite appetizer was the Shrimp Corn Dogs. They had just the right amount of sweetness. We also liked the creative Avocado and Lump Crab 'Cannelloni'. I love the combination of shrimp and corn so I also ordered the Shrimp Corn Chowder. Wow! I got it again the second time I went. The crab cakes were very well crafted with plenty of crab. For dessert we had creme brûlée--excellent--and a sample plate of small chocolate mocha desserts (please see my photo). The atmosphere was vibrant and upbeat. I love the look of the exposed brick walls and the artwork. I have no criticism at all! Flawless! read more

Really wowed. It's rare that a restaurant can surprise me and knock my socks off but it happened yesterday. Took the train from Manhattan to Raritan visit my parents for the weekend on a whim. The station is 25 minutes from where they live so we decided to go out for dinner in the area after. Not familiar with food options in Raritan or Somerville so I turned to Yelp for help! Searched Seafood and landed on Boulevard Seafood and am so happy Yelp brought me this option up. We saw the photos + the fact that it's BYOB and they happened to have a 4:45pm reso open so we took it (reservations are strongly encouraged on the weekends). Ordered: Mussels in white wine and jalapeño, little neck clams on the half shell, Stony Brook oysters on the half shell, Pappardelle and Shrimp, Octopus salad and the Boulevard Seafood Chopped Salad. Disclaimer- I order clams and oysters from the raw bar appetizer almost anywhere that serves them. Keep in mind I live in Manhattan and am surrounded by the best of the best in food. However, these were THE TASTIEST-FRESHEST-MOST INCREDIBLE CLAMS ON THE HALF SHELL I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE! Maybe it was the freshly grated horseradish, maybe it was the quality of the clams. Or maybe the mound of ice it was presented on (anything on the half shell must be served incredibly cold to bring out its flavor). The best standout dish that nearly knocked me off my chair was the Pappardelle and Gulf Shrimp dish. JESUS! Did they sprinkle mystical flavor on top? I wasn't even prepared for the flavor because it packed so much punch. It was velvety, yet light. You could serve that on a flip flop and I would still eat it. Bravo! I went home and couldn't stop raving about how wonderful our dinner was. The service was on par, restaurant was extremely clean, and of course the food was delectable. *the only miss for us was the Boulevard Seafood Chopped Salad. It lacked acid and salt* read more

Loved everything about this place, it's homey with delicious food that's very comparably priced. We had the tuna pokey, oysters and shrimp and halibut ceviche to start. The portions for the ceviches and pokey were quite generous. The pokey is a must have, packed with flavor and topped with crunchy goodness. For our meal we had the boulevard risotto which I was quite nervous about having just come back from Italy, but the risotto was quite delicious with generous portions of lobster and perfectly cooked scallops. The shrimp tacos are a must, every component from the tortillas to the mango topping is fresh perfection. However, the star of the meal for me was definitely the fresh ciabatta bread that housed our soft shell crab sandwich. They have a bakery next door which I cannot wait to try. Service was friendly and attentive, we were seated at 9, despite them closing at 9, our meal did not feel rushed, and many dinners were still seated when we left. Could have done without their fries which were a little over done, as well as their oysters which just fell flat compared to their fresh horseradish. read more

We have been here several times and each time I say I need to write a review! The oysters, clams, tuna poke, grilled octopus are all so delicious. This place is always busy so definitely recommend making reservations. This time we sat at the bar near the kitchen and it was a little distracting but very entertaining, couldn't stop watching them all work so fast. As for the food, everything once again was delicious. We ordered mostly appetizers this time as we were not super hungry and it was perfect. The shrimp cocktail was so good, they were grilled not cold, I will have them again, fish tacos so yummy, lobster roll was extra yummy, scallop appetizer another winner and we also had the blackened tuna and that was the only disappointment as it was very fatty. We also ordered a side of fries, so perfect! We will be back for sure. read more

Delicious seafood dinner! Everything was super fresh and tasty. Dixi was our server and she made sure we were happy with everything without being intrusive on our dinner. The staff was friendly and available if ever we needed something. Food came out in a timely fashion in exactly the way we ordered. Started: dozen oysters Mid-Course: tuna poke (delicious but I wish it was served with a crispy... something. Chip? Pita?) and grilled jumbo shrimp (OMG so much flavor!!) Dinner: seafood risotto (loved this dish! The truffle was everything and they did NOT skimp on the seafood at all!) We will be back! read more

Boulevard Seafood Company is a staple in our Somerville restaurants rotation. It's perfect for an elevated night out, date night and someone's birthday (usually my birthday pick!). Like most Somerville restaurants, this place is BYOB which is always a plus in my book. Forgot to BYO? There is a liquor store just half a block away so you can run out before your entrée arrives. My absolute favorite is the Seafood Risotto but you can't go wrong with really any of the items on the menu. I said I love seafood so I've also tried the Lobster Roll, Fish Tacos w fries, Surf & Turf, Swordfish and Paella for Two - my stomach is officially growling! It's also non-negotiable to have to start with their crispy calamari, Cannelloni, Mussels or Poke. My only real critique is that there haven't really been any changes or additions to the menu that I've noticed over the past few years - there are usually specials but there is nothing wrong with reviving the menu every now and then. I have to end by saying that I also love the vibe inside - the décor is the perfect mix of classic Somerville and trendy seafood restaurant with the exposed brick with colorful paintings and black shades over the huge old windows. Definitely give this place a try and make a reservation because this place does usually fill up around dinner time on the weekends! read more

You know I love my fish and I love my fish at Boulevard Seafood Company. This place is located in Somerville, a truly underrated town with a surprisingly good food scene. The restaurant itself is very well kept, clean, and has a great dining space, both inside and outside. The servers are kind and knowledgeable on the different specials. I'm a branzino guy, but I usually settle for any other white flaky fish as well. Pan seared. Gotta have the crisp. Boulevard knows how to make it crispy. They have a great variety of fresh fish and other seafood appetizers. The oysters are pretty great here as well. A high quality restaurant. Enjoyed my time there! 5/5! read more

I was a bit disappointed the last time I went to Boulevard. I had the lobster roll and the chips weren't seasoned. The lobster meat had an acidic taste to it that I didn't even finish.
