Austin has so many places that you have to pay for parking before eating but this place doesn't! Free parking. We ordered the gyozas, chicken pad thai and mango sticky rice. The pad thai was a good serving for two. They have daily happy hour with $5 selective appetizers and alcohol beverages. Support this family owned for many years! The owner is very nice and loves her business. The restaurant it self has seat out side and inside.

Had to bring these girls to their favorite place in Austin-Thai Kitchen! They practically grew up eating here, and their order never changes: pork dumplings, Tom Kha soup, and coconut ice cream. Some traditions are just too good to outgrow. Every visit brings back sweet memories, and it's always fun watching them enjoy the same favorites they've loved since they were little.

I've been coming to Thai Kitchen for over 30 years -- yes, three decades! From their very first location to now only having the Guadalupe spot left, this place has been a staple in my life. And let me tell you, no one -- and I mean no one -- makes Phad Thai like they do. It's hands-down the BEST in Austin. Period. The food? Always fire. The service? Fast, friendly, and beyond helpful. The vibe? Clean, welcoming, and full of good energy. Today I brought my whole family in -- we had the beef salad, some desserts, and every bite was a 10/10. Thai Kitchen never misses. If you haven't eaten here, you're seriously missing out on one of Austin's true gems.

This is my second time coming here, and this time I brought my friend! We had the green Thai tea and the regular Thai tea. They were both delicious and the green one was more floral. I got the shrimp fried rice again with SPICY yomwunsen this time. It was really spicy for me but it was still good. Service was outstanding as usual! And like I said before, it's a great place for a cute night out with your friends! It's very chill.

We came on a Saturday and there were a lot of seats. Got a nice sized parking lot we ordered the crispy pork belly, dynamite squid, tom kha, and fried rice. Funny enough, the dynamite squid (we got it mild bc apparently it's really spicy as is) and fried rice tastes like the stir fries in Taiwan in the best way possible. Loved it. We also liked the pad thai too. The tom kha is on the sour side and it tasted more flavorful when you add some chili fish sauce into it. Service was fast and friendly as well :)

I loved the service, but the pad se ew was okay I've had pad se ew in so many restaurants and this one tasted a bit too tangy and thick the sauce.

I've been hearing about this Austin staple of a Thai place for years. I'm so glad I came in! It's a little spot that feels so cozy and the service is spot on. Our server was present, helpful, and gave us great recommendations on food. We had the Khai Look Kory (Son in Law), Yen Toe-Fo (Pink Soup), and Tears but Joy (with fish). The Son in Law was a real surprise that had such great flavor with good textures as well. The Pink Soup was so delicious with the fat noodles, chicken, and seafood. I think the broth was really on point and tasted like a homey dish. The Tears but Joy is just that; spicy but amazingly delicious. The flavor of the sauce was really something special. Make sure to get some extra water because it's hot! I can't wait to come back and try many more of their dishes.

I finish the plate in 10 minutes. So good

I've been coming here for years, and it's always been great! It's authentic and they're able to accommodate my vegetarian restrictions. I love the tom ka soup, pad thai and ginger tofu.

Thai Kitchen has easily become one of my favorite places to get food weather it is in store or take out. The service is amazing and is always consistently great, and the overall vibe and ambiance in the restaurant is just as good :) I will definitely keep coming back and recommend everyone try food here too!

We've been here before and it is always good. Food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We had a couple appetizers, soup, and a green curry dish.

We ordered the cheese roll, pork bely, khon wings, brussel sprouts, fried tofu, pad see ew, Massaman curry, roti, pandang beef, moo ping, tum tad, crab fried rice, pineapple fried rice and all of it was amazing. Found this place as it was a recommendation from someone who was in the Thai restaurant business and came highly recommended. The restaurant itself has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar. It seems like a nice place to have a meal. As for the food, we ordered: Pad thai with chicken, mild spice - unfortunately this was a bit dry for me, though the taste was good. Pad see ew with chicken - I liked their version and would probably get it again. Pad woon sen with pork - typically my favorite noodle dish and I think they did a good job. Garden roll - good but not as packed as others I've had, and at a higher price point. Pineapple fried rice with pork - I liked this but was a bit on the oily side. Tom kha soup - I thought this was very good and had a decent amount of chicken and mushrooms Overall I liked everything but some items I felt I had better versions of elsewhere. It's also on the pricier side. Still, if in central Austin I think it's a solid choice for Thai food.

Negatives: - no silverware given (delivering to a hotel....hmmm shouldn't it be included ) - asked for an extra peanut sauce, not provided - description of vegetables in the fried rice would be helpful! I got level 3 spice which definitely had a kick, and it also came with a platter of pickled greens, fresh red onions, a slice of lime, and chili oil. The soup itself was really creamy and good, with a slight Malaysian curry flavor. The noodles themselves were thin egg noodles that were slightly soggy but it also came topped with fried crunchy noodles, which provided the crisp. The spice paired well with a creamy Thai iced tea! The service was super quick and everyone was so friendly. Definitely recommend it if you're in downtown Austin!

Ambience: Dark and moody with plenty of seating and a partial viewing of the kitchen. Service: the waitress was super prompt and also gave a lot of explanation about items on the menu in case we weren't familiar with the dish. Food: The food is probably some of the best thai food in Austin. We ordered the papaya salad which came out more in like a "thin flat noodle fashion" than what we are normally used to, it's not super spicy like most thai restuarants like to serve it but still has some robust flavors and some spice it also comes with cracklings which are super crunchy. The chinese broccolli is always a favorite of mine for the texture and the Pork Ribs dish was super creamy with a hint of spice that left you craving more. The menu is so large that we will definetly be back, i'd recommend going close to open as it's not as crowded!

My friend and I decided to check this place out since we've heard many good things about Kiin Di…read moreeven from days it was a food truck. We got the: * Roti Dip * Soft shell crab in curry * Papaya salad I loved the roti, it was crispy and the curry was flavorful, a bit salty but they paired well. The biggest miss for me was the soft shell crab in curry, the plate came out room temp which was a bit disappointing since curry is best served warm/hot. The batter on the crab was super thick it felt like we were just eating deep fried crab that got soggy quickly as it's served in the curry. The curry had some separation almost as if the coconut milk in it had been reheated or curdled during the cooking process. I'm not an expert chef but I've worked with coconut milk enough to notice these things. The papaya salad was decent, I loved the tangy and fresh flavors (we opted for 3 spice but definitely could've amped it up). I prefer my papaya salad with more "funk" but understand that's a different style. I am sad I had to give this place only 3 stars because my expectations were high considering this is their brick & mortar. I will have to give it a try again and taste other dishes. Overall the service was friendly, got sat immediately and didn't have to wait too long for the food to come out. More parking in the back of the restaurant, be weary of the signs from other businesses.
